[Bug 1017613] Re: No manpage for gl-setup
The bug watch which marked this as Fix Released in Debian did so because the gitolite package was removed (superseded by gitolite3, see https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=780732 for details). (It is likely that gitolite will be removed in a future Ubuntu release too, btw) I took a quick look at the gitolite3 package to see whether that should be marked as also affected by this issue. But it looks like this doesn't have the gl-setup binary anymore. It does have a gitolite binary though, and that also has a manpage (http://packages.ubuntu.com/vivid/all/gitolite3/filelist). ** Bug watch added: Debian Bug tracker #780732 http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=780732 ** Tags added: trusty utopic vivid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017613 Title: No manpage for gl-setup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gitolite/+bug/1017613/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1220146] Re: Ralink Mediatek 14c3:7630 wi-fi card isn't supported out of the box
As an aside, would it help if more people contact mediatek? I sent a question on their webform but haven't received a reply. I sent them this mail about a week ago: Hey, guys do you realize how many problems have you done to thousands of 'lucky' users that had bought a laptop with your MT7630 wifi/bluetooth card inside? Your drivers for this card are awful (either Windows or Linux based)! I met the people using this on windows8.1 and complained for periodical device disappearing. I'm personally trying to use this device on Linux (different versions of Ubuntu) - it somehow works but eats 100% cpu load, discharging my battery and increasing cpu temperature all the time! Just look at this thread: (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1220146) - actually it is about your guys drivers for MT7630 - all the people have the same problems on linux. Look how long it is discussed - and there is still no decision. Are you not supporting your own products? The last linux driver is V3.14 from 6/25/2014 - but still the same problems, 100% cpu load, any updates, like it's all ok. Have you tested this before releasing to the market at all? A lot of people can't deal with this, changing their laptops, writing complaints to retailers, buying new wifi-cards, spending their money for services (just look through that link I've provided) - and that's all because of your great drivers for your widely used wifi card. Please, answer me, I'm very disappointed --- Still no answer. I think the only thing we can do is to write complaints to our laptop's manufacturers just to prevent them using Mediatek cards in future. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1220146 Title: Ralink Mediatek 14c3:7630 wi-fi card isn't supported out of the box To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hwe-next/+bug/1220146/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1434963] [NEW] Noise on headphones with 14.04.2 on HP Zbook 15 G2
Public bug reported: After first install of Ubuntu 14.04.2 LTS on brand-new HP Zbook 15 G2 I wanted to listen to music. Sound works. However, there is a constant, quite strong very annoying noise. This noise appears only when I use headphones. And the volume of this noise seems to be independent of the volume I chooses on the system. It is there permanently. (it's really annoying, making this perfect machine unusable in this regard) I am using the normal analog 3.5mm headset port on the right hand side. I can confirm, that it is not a problem of the headphones, I tested it with 3 different ones. Same result. Annoying noise. It seems to be a mix of white noise and some other varying frequencies. Also, if I run the volume all the way down to mute, the noise stops. (which seems to confirm a software/driver problem right?) HP claims to support Ubuntu 14.04 on this brand-new workstation ! [Bug 1434959] [NEW] XFCE desktop - system icons themselves arrange off the screen
Public bug reported: When clicking Arrange Desktop Icons in XF Desktop properties, the system icons, Home. Wastebasket and Removable Devices (I don't use the additional Filesystem option) arrange themselves off the screen area to the left rather than at the top left and visible. A tiny portion of an icon is just visible, provising a clue as to what has happened. A workaround is to choose Desktop Settings, the Icons tab, and un-select and re-select the system icons. when they appear at the end (bottom right) of the desktop, or tolog out and log back in, which arranges the icons in a half-expected manner. This issue may account for some reports of invisible disk mounts on the desktop, where the mount icons may simply be off the screen. Additionally, the icons do not sort themselves into any sensible order. The expected action is to arrange with known icons first, followed by folders, followed by files in alphabetical order, but the arranged order appears to be random. Lenovo E145, fglrx. [Bug 1362848] Re: ubuntu 14.04 after install nvidia binary driver 331.89 black screen and freeze
well that might be a work arround for Optimus. I on the other hand have GT 730 i just bought. inserted it into the computer, booted to low resolution in nouveau drivers. added Xorg edgers PPA to be able to install nvidia 340. and it should all work (just liek it did for many people with similar card on forums), right? wrong - when i get to desktop all i get is blank screen (can see the VESA splash with dots under Kubuntu before that). Card is recognised only as Nvidia Corporation Device. there is no chip or anything like that. Xorg.log shows that GPU failed to initialize. It also can not find screens i've also found this in one of the logs i went through yesterday: API mismatch: the client has the version 340.76, but this kernel module has the version 331.113. same happens when using version 346. I can not get to desktop basically ot be able to use nvidia settings. when driver get's installed nvidia-settings is emtpy. there is no devices in it. ofcoruse upon reboto there is blank screen so i can't say what is in it then. I am also not sure why bb switch and things like that are being installed if i only have one GPU in the motherboard. though i should mention that the motherboard has two slots (PCIe (@ 4x) and AGP). At the moment i am using very old Radeon and foss driver there works and finds correct screen resolution (1650x1050) well. But it is crashing when running some games, so i wanted to replace it with nvidia only to be met by dissapointment and very poor nvidia linux support. Xorg-edgers ppa gives me 640x840 screen resolution and works very very slow. [Bug 1434996] [NEW] TCP Zero Window on client NFS writes
Public bug reported: When clients write to their NFS shares on 14.04 the transfers are very slow (often a few KB/s) and the server sends TCP Zero Window packets. The transfer then stops for anywhere up to 40 seconds. The transfer will then start again before pausing shortly after. This cycle continues until the transfer finally completes. The server is not under any pressure and I can't see how it can justify sending a TCP Zero Window Packet. Reading from the same NFS shares are pefect and data is always served at 9.5MB/s + When writing to the same folders on the server using a different protocol such as sftp, the write performance is as expected, which is around 6MB/s. No transfer interruptions or problems experienced. No problems reported in the server logs. When monitoring the server during a transfer (using dstat) I can see that network activity stops or dips when the server writes to disk. Spec / details -- Description:Ubuntu 14.04.1 LTS Release:14.04 nfs-kernel-server: Installed: 1:1.2.8-6ubuntu1.1 Candidate: 1:1.2.8-6ubuntu1.1 Issue occurs using NFSv3 and NFSv4 I expect to be able to transfer data to the server at 6MB/s + without any delays, interrupts or problems. ** Affects: nfs-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: nfs performance tcp window zero -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1434996 Title: TCP Zero Window on client NFS writes To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-utils/+bug/1434996/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Well i am using Debian distro and everything is working fine for me except few pages where i have tried to apply background color and then ticked and unticked trim button. The output remains the same. This might mean that the page which was not trimmed might not be having margins over there. Please report if this issue is still there or not and if yes then what distro are you using? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/635026 Title: Okular Trim margins doesn't work if paper colour is changed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/kdegraphics/+bug/635026/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1434978] [NEW] HP Zbook 14 G2: systems restart after shutdown
Public bug reported: When I use the shutdown option in the menu or run sudo poweroff on my new Zbook 14 G2, the system shuts down and powers up again right after the restart. I have to push the power button again during startup to avoid it to restart. The system is more or less supported by Ubuntu* and the BIOS is up to date, so I thought this is worth a bug report... (I don't have a preinstalled system by HP, since I can't buy these here, this is an Ubunutu 15.04) (*) http://www.ubuntu.com/certification/hardware/201411-16141/ ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 15.04 Package: linux-image-3.19.0-9-generic 3.19.0-9.9 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.19.0-9.9-generic 3.19.1 Uname: Linux 3.19.0-9-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.16.2-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: USERPID ACCESS COMMAND /dev/snd/controlC1: luc2523 F pulseaudio /dev/snd/controlC0: luc2523 F pulseaudio Date: Sun Mar 22 12:14:35 2015 InstallationDate: Installed on 2015-03-14 (7 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid Vervet - Alpha amd64 (20150306) MachineType: Hewlett-Packard HP ZBook 14 G2 ProcFB: 0 inteldrmfb ProcKernelCmdLine: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-3.19.0-9-generic root=/dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg-root ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 PulseList: Error: command ['pacmd', 'list'] failed with exit code 1: No PulseAudio daemon running, or not running as session daemon. [Bug 1434999] [NEW] Creating a new VM in virt-manager fails because of apparmor permissions
Public bug reported: When creating a new VM, it fails because of insufficient permissions. Adding permissions for /dev/shm/lttng-ust-wait-5 and /var/lib/libvirt/qemu/channel/target to /etc/apparmor.d/abstractions /libvirt-qemu seems to solve it, although there are still DENIED messages in the logs: [ +0,208881] audit: type=1400 audit(1427028845.637:313): apparmor=DENIED operation=open profile=/usr/lib/libvirt/virt-aa-helper name=/dev/shm/lttng-ust-wait-5 pid=9562 comm=virt-aa-helper requested_mask=r denied_mask=r fsuid=0 ouid=0 [ +0,45] audit: type=1400 audit(1427028845.637:314): apparmor=DENIED operation=open profile=/usr/lib/libvirt/virt-aa-helper name=/dev/shm/lttng-ust-wait-5 pid=9562 comm=virt-aa-helper requested_mask=r denied_mask=r fsuid=0 ouid=0 I know literally nothing about apparmor, but I hope someone who does can look into this and fix it properly before release of 15.04.
