[Bug 1242321] Re: USB 3.0 Harddrive not recognised

2015-03-26 Thread CataclysmZA
I'd like to add that I'm seeing this bug as well. I'm trying a variety
of USB 3.0 and 2.0 devices in my on-board ports, nothing works.
Disabling XHCI or EHCI does nothing, but all of this works perfectly
inside Windows. I'm on a MSI 970 Gaming motherboard, V22.2 BIOS, booting
using Legacy/UEFI mode. I'm on Ubuntu 14.04 and I didn't see any of this
working before the install either. My USB 3.0 chipset is designed by
VIA.

When running dmesg, this is part of what I see that could be the missing
USB ports:

[ 15.508483] usb 10-1: new high-speed USB device number 2 using xhci_hcd
[ 15.510503] init: plymouth-splash main process (2042) terminated with status
1
[ 28.735253] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Stopped the command ring failed, maybe
the host is dead
[ 28.761562] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Host not halted after 16000 microseconds.
[ 28.761564] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Abort command ring failed
[ 28.761572] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: HC died; cleaning up
[ 28.761591] xhci_hcd :03:00.0: Timeout while waiting for setup device
command
[ 28.761598] usb 10-1: hub failed to enable device, error -62
[ 28.761626] usb usb10-port1: couldn't allocate usb_device

I have other devices plugged in, namely a USB mouse and keyboard, and
these pick up through EHCI a little lower down in the log.

[Bug 584632]

2015-03-26 Thread Mozilla-jorgk
Created attachment 8583259
Test case

Here is the test case. Forgive me if the JS is bad, I've never written any,
just copied bits and pieces around.
Two questions:
Where in the mochitest.ini do I put my new test? I put it right at the front
since I don't understand the syntax of skip-if. Does that skip the next line?
Perhaps you can suggest a line where it should go. Or say: After such and such.

In the test I use a span123/span to get offset 3 when clicking
behind it. Without the span, I get offset 4, which I find surprising, or
clicking at the front gives offset 1 instead of 0. FF 36 does the same,
so I guess it's right, but I'd like to understand why 4 and not 3, or 1
and not 0. Why does the span make a difference?

Anyway, the tests are passed. Without my changes, the first test fails
as expected.

As I said in comment #106: There are already tests for hitting the end
key and navigating with the arrow keys, so this test should be the only
one we need additionally.

[Bug 1437006] [NEW] bottom edge gesture graphic should have a numeric representation of the number of open tabs

2015-03-26 Thread jezra
Public bug reported:

This is a UX issue.
Currently, the bottom edge graphic is a squat caret. Aside from the caret, it
would be nice to have a numeric display of the number of open tabs. Today while
trying to use a website, my actions resulted in the opening of multiple tabs,
but there was no change in the browser that would suggest any tabs were opened.

2015-03-26 Thread Joseph Salisbury
It appears the .deb file is corrupt.

You may need to run the following from a terminal:

sudo apt-get install -f
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update

Then re-install the package.

If that does not resolve your issue, please mark the bug as Confirmed

[Bug 1435040] Re: Ubuntu Phone (BQ E4.5) does not connect to car-bluetooth

2015-03-26 Thread GlassRat
I have the same issue when trying to connect to my bluetooth headset to
my BQ E4.5. I have managed to get the headset connected twice; on the
first occasion the connection lasted about 30s before repeatedly
dropping out and reconnecting for 3 or 4 cycles and then permanently
disconnecting. Today the headset connected and then dropped out
immediately a call was connected.

This is a SAFETY issue as hands-free phone use whilst driving is
impossible.

I have also noticed that quite often when you try turning bluetooth on
in the settings menu, it turns itself off again within a couple of
seconds.

[Bug 1437091] [NEW] xrandr --delmode unable to remove incorrectly detected video resolution modes

2015-03-26 Thread pureblood
Public bug reported:

I own an HP LP3065 monitor (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B000KB6E3G/) with a
BizLink displayport adapter (http://www.amazon.com/dp/B003XYBA72/). The command
sudo get-edid -b 6 | parse-edid correctly identifies the available
resolutions of the screen as 2560x1600 and 1280x800. However, the Ubuntu system
incorrectly identifies instead the resolutions 1024x768, 800x600, 848x480, and
640x480 which all don't work with the monitor. While I have to add manually the
correct resolutions with xrandr using the command xrandr --newmode 2560x1600
268.00 2560 2608 2640 2720 1600 1603 1609 1646 -hsync +vsync xrandr
--addmode DP1 2560x1600, I occasionally have the system attempting to use the
1024x768 resolution leading to an empty black screen. One potential solution
would be to remove the rogue resolutions so that they could not be
automatically chosen. I tried the command xrandr --delmode DP1 1024x768 but
this is to no avail with the following output:
X Error of failed request: BadAccess (attempt to access private resource
denied)
Major opcode of failed request: 140 (RANDR)
Minor opcode of failed request: 19 (RRDeleteOutputMode)
Serial number of failed request: 42
Current serial number in output stream: 43
My understanding is that the system thinks to know better than the user and
disallows from removing native resolutions. However, it is clear that the
system is not designed well enough to know what the correct native resolutions
are. This is tremendously frustrating and ultimately it is combination of a bug
in properly detecting the native resolutions (gone unfixed for the last five
years) and a flawed design assuming detected resolutions would never need to be
removed. I am at a loss with regard who to and where to file this bug. I would
be tremendously grateful to anybody who could provide some directions.

2015-03-26 Thread Jose Luis Rivero
Public bug reported:

Please sync gazebo 5.0.1+dfsg-1~exp2 (universe) from Debian experimental
(main)

The ~exp2 revision bump fixes an important bug for the ROS
(Robot Operative System) users using latest version of
Gazebo 5. See reports:

when-roslaunchd-but-can/

The patch was commited to upstream and backported to this release bump which
only include
this patch and the version is already in Debian experimental.

Changelog entries since current vivid version 5.0.1+dfsg-1~exp1:

[Bug 1435687] Re: disable/enable WiFi on devices with read-only rootfs, the wifi network name will auto plus 1

2015-03-26 Thread Martin Pitt
  create/ship an empty /etc/udev/rules.d/75-persistent-net-generator.rules
 This is doable to me.

OK, that might be the quickest/safest way for now?

 net.ifnames depends on systemd

No, that's udev only. It should work just fine under upstart too. As
that's the long-term goal, doing that on touch for vivid+1 could be the
the best option, but it's certainly too intrusive for RTM/vivid for now,
I figure?

Any ideas to solve this problem?
