You can verify the integrity of the Ubuntu ISO files you downloaded by following the instructions at https://help.ubuntu.com/community/HowToMD5SUM. You might also retry your installation with new media. In the event that is is not in fact an error with your installation media please set the bug's status back to New. Thanks and good luck! [Bug 1449429] Re: terminal minimizes to 2x2 square
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1449429/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 881046]
(In reply to Alex Fiestas from comment #65) With the proliferation of hidpi laptops having scale properly working is becoming more important since it is the only way of using embedded and external displays with a decent experience. I do not know for what keystone is used these days but, maybe we could consider breaking it in favor of scale? We can't wait until Wayland + al Compositors to implement scaling imho. Thanks. Seconded. Chris's patch has been around for over a year. A second screen attached to a HiDPI laptop is now a far more common use case than pre- output keystoning. If necessary we could open a new ticket (this has been suggested before) to isolate the scaling issue. [Bug 1449089] Re: Regression: compiz 1:0.9.11.3+14.04.20150313-0ubuntu1 segfaults on Radeon HD 7470/8470
It's weird that the Compiz update would cause this. The only changes in the last Compiz SRU are a blacklist for Nvidia cards for disable X to GL syncs and the removal of a texturesCache in the animation plugin that caused issues on Nvidia cards and that's it. The texturesCache was unused and only caused issues in the Animation class destructor, so I fail to see how that could be causing this issue. And that's it, no other changes, so I'm really thinking Compiz is a victim here. Without any other clues such a core dump, it will not be easy to prove either way who's to blame though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1449089 Title: Regression: compiz 1:0.9.11.3+14.04.20150313-0ubuntu1 segfaults on Radeon HD 7470/8470 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/compiz/+bug/1449089/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1352962] Re: Not transparent system tray icon on LXDE
This is a screenshot of the undesired result: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B- 2X10got3hOYUNDRllNMnRYbWM/view?usp=sharing 1. The default installation of lubuntu-desktop (Ubuntu 14.04.2) looks fine, after that, I downloaded a theme for openbox called Windows8OB, after applied it, I noticed that the icons kept the previous transparency. 2. As you can see in the picture, the expected result should be blue background for the launch icons (not for the opened applications). 3. After applied the theme using OpenBox configuration manager, and after restart (the theme don't applies inmediately for the taskbar only for the windows), the icons kept the original color. 4. The icon theme is GNOME, changing the Icon Theme doesn't change the behaviour, as you can see here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-2X10got3hOYkFyNU1BUFdTWlU/view -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1352962 Title: Not transparent system tray icon on LXDE To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxpanel/+bug/1352962/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Just a little input, if you have recently upgraded your kernel, and your dkms fails to reinsert, a simpler way to fix this than the above instructions would be as follows: gksudo gedit /usr/src/bcmwl-6.30.223.248+bdcom/src/wl/sys/wl_cfg80211_hybrid.c Search for STATION_INFO_TX_BITRATE; replace as described above by Rodrigo-vivi with: BIT(NL80211_STA_INFO_TX_BITRATE); and search for STATION_INFO_SIGNAL replace with: BIT(NL80211_STA_INFO_SIGNAL) and then simply run sudo dkms install bcmwl/6.30.223.248+bdcom and let dkms take care of the making and inserting for you.
