2015-04-28 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make

your installation with new media. In the event that is is not in fact
an error with your installation media please set the bug's status back
to New. Thanks and good luck!

[Bug 1449429] Re: terminal minimizes to 2x2 square

2015-04-28 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1449429/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you

[Bug 881046]

2015-04-28 Thread Jymbob
(In reply to Alex Fiestas from comment #65)
With the proliferation of hidpi laptops having scale properly working is
becoming more important since it is the only way of using embedded and
external displays with a decent experience.

I do not know for what keystone is used these days but, maybe we could
consider breaking it in favor of scale?

We can't wait until Wayland + al Compositors to implement scaling imho.

 Thanks.

Seconded. Chris's patch has been around for over a year. A second screen
attached to a HiDPI laptop is now a far more common use case than pre-
output keystoning.

If necessary we could open a new ticket (this has been suggested before)
to isolate the scaling issue.

[Bug 1449502] [NEW] suspend fails if mobile wifi is plugged into usb

2015-04-28 Thread svenmeier
Public bug reported:

With Gnome Ubuntu 15.10 suspend/resume works like a charm, *unless* I
plug in my Huawei E586 mobile Wifi.

Note that the mobile device is connected for charging only. Although it
reports in dmesg as USB Mass Storage, I'm not using it for storage nor
can I access it via nautilus.

Oh right, lp display is broken, if you download the file it's fine (a
couple of ^M may explain lp weirdness).

2015-04-28 Thread Brad Figg
This bug is missing log files that will aid in diagnosing the problem.
From a terminal window please run:

apport-collect 1448609

and then change the status of the bug to 'Confirmed'.

If, due to the nature of the issue you have encountered, you are unable
to run this command, please add a comment stating that fact and change
the bug status to 'Confirmed'.

[Bug 1448441] Re: After upgrade to Ubuntu 15.04, wrong temperature readings after wake from suspend cause fan to go crazy

2015-04-28 Thread Stannis King
Christopher, I'm not really familiar with any of this, so I want to be
really clear on what I'm supposed to do.

I'm supposed to start from v4.1-rc1-vivid/ in here:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D

What am I supposed to download and install from there? I'm guessing all
of the following from v4.1-rc1-vivid/:

linux-headers-4.1.0-040100rc1-generic_4.1.0-040100rc1.201504270235_i386.deb
linux-headers-4.1.0-040100rc1-lowlatency_4.1.0-040100rc1.201504270235_i386.deb
linux-headers-4.1.0-040100rc1_4.1.0-040100rc1.201504270235_all.deb
linux-image-4.1.0-040100rc1-generic_4.1.0-040100rc1.201504270235_i386.deb
linux-image-4.1.0-040100rc1-lowlatency_4.1.0-040100rc1.201504270235_i386.deb

Correct? Or only the image ones?

[Bug 1449089] Re: Regression: compiz 1:0.9.11.3+14.04.20150313-0ubuntu1 segfaults on Radeon HD 7470/8470

2015-04-28 Thread Christopher Townsend
It's weird that the Compiz update would cause this. The only changes in
the last Compiz SRU are a blacklist for Nvidia cards for disable X to GL
syncs and the removal of a texturesCache in the animation plugin that
caused issues on Nvidia cards and that's it. The texturesCache was
unused and only caused issues in the Animation class destructor, so I
fail to see how that could be causing this issue.

And that's it, no other changes, so I'm really thinking Compiz is a
victim here. Without any other clues such a core dump, it will not be
easy to prove either way who's to blame though.

[Bug 1381175] Re: vgaarb module not patched

2015-04-28 Thread Alberto Milone
This has nothing to do with NVIDIA's proprietary driver. If anything
it's a kernel issue, as vgaarb lives in the kernel and the nvidia driver
doesn't need it.

If you're facing any other issue with the nvidia driver, please file a
separate bug report.

[Bug 1352962] Re: Not transparent system tray icon on LXDE

2015-04-28 Thread Daniel Antonio
This is a screenshot of the undesired result:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-
2X10got3hOYUNDRllNMnRYbWM/view?usp=sharing

1. The default installation of lubuntu-desktop (Ubuntu 14.04.2) looks
fine, after that, I downloaded a theme for openbox called Windows8OB,
after applied it, I noticed that the icons kept the previous
transparency.

2. As you can see in the picture, the expected result should be blue
background for the launch icons (not for the opened applications).

3. After applied the theme using OpenBox configuration manager, and
after restart (the theme don't applies inmediately for the taskbar only
for the windows), the icons kept the original color.

4. The icon theme is GNOME, changing the Icon Theme doesn't change the
behaviour, as you can see here:

  This breaks the ssh runner.
+
+ SRU TEST CASE:
+ ==
+ - Prepare a system which uses ifupdown (e. g. a standard
adt-buildvm-ubuntu-cloud VM)
+ - Start it, run sudo systemctl default
+ - With vivid final's systemd, this will stop ifup@eth0.service and hence shut
down eth0. ssh and other network connections will stop.
+ - With this fix, ifup@eth0.service and eth0 should stay running/up.
+
+ Regression potential: Very low: We don't use systemctl isolate during
+ regular operation, and more elaborate commands like systemctl isolate
+ rescue.target are currently broken on Ubuntu anyway due to our D-Bus
+ shutdown hack.

[Bug 1424676] Re: bcmwl-kernel-source 6.30.223.248+bdcom-0ubuntu2: bcmwl kernel module failed to build [error: ‘STATION_INFO_TX_BITRATE’ undeclared (first use in this function)]

2015-04-28 Thread Aaron Miller
Just a little input, if you have recently upgraded your kernel, and your
dkms fails to reinsert, a simpler way to fix this than the above
instructions would be as follows:

gksudo gedit
/usr/src/bcmwl-6.30.223.248+bdcom/src/wl/sys/wl_cfg80211_hybrid.c

Search for

STATION_INFO_TX_BITRATE;

replace as described above by Rodrigo-vivi with:

BIT(NL80211_STA_INFO_TX_BITRATE);

and search for

STATION_INFO_SIGNAL

replace with:

BIT(NL80211_STA_INFO_SIGNAL)

and then simply run

sudo dkms install bcmwl/6.30.223.248+bdcom

and let dkms take care of the making and inserting for you. Then reboot
and you should be good to go. This worked for me in Vivid Vervet 15.04

Thanks. crypttab clearly shows that this has been set up correctly,
with /dev/urandom as the key, so we should not be getting a passphrase
prompt.

[Bug 1432317] Re: [systemd] should now depend on systemd/upstart, not upstart-bin

2015-04-28 Thread kevin
I recently installed Ubuntu 15.04, and in trying to use chrome-remote-
desktop, I get the same errors when trying to use lightdm-session to
start a gnome-session. I can connect then, but the screen I get is
black, there is no login screen presented like there is with my 14.10
install using chrome-remote-desktop.
