[Bug 1421329] Re: cron sends an email every 20 minutes

2015-05-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package sendmail - 8.14.9-1

---
sendmail (8.14.9-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * QA upload.
  * New upstream release.
  * Remove sendmail-8.14.9.diff.
  * manpage-section.patch: Refresh.
  * Switch from tar-in-tar to regular source layout.
  * Switch patch application from cdbs to dpkg source format 3.0 (quilt).
  * d/patches: Convert old-style context diffs to unified diffs.
  * Finally drop the last bits of cdbs usage.
  * Perform more checks in /etc/cron.d/sendmail to skip running commands (and
failing) if any of the sendmail-base, sendmail-bin packages have been
removed. (LP: #1421329)
  * Import Sendmail Signing Key/2015 sendm...@sendmail.org from
ftp://ftp.sendmail.org/pub/sendmail/PGPKEYS into
debian/upstream/signing-key.pgp.
  * Use the changelog timestamp for @sm_date@ and @sm_time@ substitutions to
make the build reproducible.
  * fhs.patch: New. Move path adjustments in documentation from sed calls in
d/rules to a proper patch.
  * Upload to unstable.

[Bug 1449726] Re: Kubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) plasmashell crashes with segmentation fault

2015-05-11 Thread Lluis Turró
I had the same problem at random time. Adding a new widget and scrolling
over caused de error every time after few seconds.

Playing around activities, I tried adding a new empty one. No changes.
Then I deleted this new one and the Search Launch, which was no
functional anyway.

The error has disappeared.

[Bug 1453661] [NEW] Account for HAL differences in Ephimeris/Almanac/UsedInFix mask

2015-05-11 Thread Thomas Voß
Public bug reported:

While vanilla android defines the ephimeris/almanac/used_in_fix mask as
a 32-bit mask (see [1]), SOC-specific source trees might carry non-
scalar mask members, e.g., extending the masks to uint32_t[8]. With
that, the low-level adaptation layers should account for the difference
and expose a unified interface to user space.

[Bug 1453691] [NEW] acpi fails to detect reconnected ac adapter Acer c710 kubuntu 14.10

2015-05-11 Thread David
Public bug reported:

acpi fails to detect reconnected ac adapter Acer c710 running kubuntu
14.10. To reproduce: Start running on AC adapter - power is sourced from
AC adapter. Disconnect AC adapter and then it runs on battery. Reconnect
AC adapter and laptop continues running on battery until they battery
runs out and system shuts down. Problem is that software fails to detect
AC adapter after reconnection.

Command 'fwts ac_adapter' reports 4 fails (i..e. each of its four tests
failed.)

After AC adapter is reconnected in above:

'acpi -i' reports:
Battery 0: Discharging, 20%, 00:49:33 remaining
Battery 0: design capacity 2500 mAh, last full capacity 2241 mAh = 89%

'upower -d' output includes:
/org/frfeedesktop/Upower/devices/line_power_AC
...
line-power online: no

Daemon:
...
  on-battery: yes

--
The only way to get AC Adapter to charge battery is to power the system down.
At that point, the LED indicator shows the AC Adapter is then charging battery.
The system can also then be immediately restarted and the connected AC adapter
will supply power. After rebooting, while still on AC Adapter:

'acpi -i' reports:
Battery 0: Charging, 19%, 01:31:52 until charged
Battery 0: design capacity 2500 mAh, last full capacity 2241 mAh = 89%

'upower -d' output includes:
/org/frfeedesktop/Upower/devices/line_power_AC
...
line-power online: yes

/org/freedesktop/Upower/devices/battery_BATX
...
  battery
  ...
 state: charging

Daemon:
...
on-battery: no

running 'fwts ac_adapter'
(with AC adapter still connected from powerup) gives the following (my actions
are in brackets):
Make sure laptop is still connected to the mains power .
Press Enter to continue
(I press enter)
 Please unplug the laptop power.
(I unplug it. Charging light stays on until 20 second countdown ends. Then the
charging light goes out,
there is a beep, the please reconnect line shown below is typed by the program,
and it then goes right
to the command line prompt without reporting the test results.)
 Please re-connect the laptop power.

[Bug 1439280] Re: Libvirt CPU affinity error

2015-05-11 Thread Jeffrey Zhang
I found the root cause in my environment.

I use libvirt in LXC. And the lxc doesn't enable the cgroup w/ read and
write permission. I add/change the config file with following line.

lxc.aa_profile = lxc-container-default-with-nesting

And install `cgroup-lite` in lxc guest. The libvirt works with CPU
affinity.

[Bug 1453701] [NEW] Wifi authentication times out immediately

2015-05-11 Thread Nitzan Raz
Public bug reported:

After upgrading to Ubuntu 15.04, wifi connections fail (not sure about the
router configuration that causes connections to fail).
Seems like regression from 14.10 (my wifi tethering from my Android used to
work, but now it doesn't).
I have a Lenovo Y50, chipset Intel 3160.

[Bug 1447955] Re: package modemmanager 1.4.0-1 failed to install/upgrade: invoke-rc.d fails on missing init.d script

2015-05-11 Thread Martin Pitt
Esokrates: When I do this in a chroot with a proper policy-rc.d (to
suppress daemon starts, which is a must for doing things in a chroot), I
get

Setting up modemmanager (1.4.0-1) ...
invoke-rc.d: unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/modemmanager not found.
invoke-rc.d: policy-rc.d denied execution of start.

and the package installs successfully. So it seems the modemmanager not
found is a warning, but does not break stuff by itself. I guess what
happens is that the postinst tries to actually start modemmanager in
your chroot?

[Bug 1453498] Re: Trim options in autopkgtest configuration file

2015-05-11 Thread Martin Pitt
Ah, thanks, can reproduce now. That parsing is done by Python's argparse
module, I'm not sure that one can actually influence its behaviour wrt.
trimming. I'll have a look at the documentation.

[Bug 817326] Re: [Upstream] Previously-saved LibreOffice document lost by power outage (became 0 bytes long) - LibreOffice should call fsync

A recovery option worked for me:

Scalpel and foremost are forensic tools which can recover from any kind
of filesystem by greping all bytes on the disk. Works well for FAT USB
stick...

[Bug 789174] Re: rsyslog fails to create tcp socket.

2015-05-11 Thread Thomas Reusch
On my Ubuntu 12.04 machine (upgraded from 10.04) it was apparmor
blocking the tcp listener. Adding the lines

network inet dgram,
network inet6 dgram,
network inet stream,
network inet6 stream,

to /etc/apparmor.d/local/usr.sbin.rsyslogd worked for me (as described
on http://serverfault.com/questions/450546/rsyslogd-not-listening-on-

[Bug 1453683] [NEW] dummy -dbgsym depend on wrong -dbg package

2015-05-11 Thread Martin Pitt
Public bug reported:

The dependency generation for the empty dummy -dbgsym ddebs (which are
generated if the source builds -dbg packages on its own) seems quite
random:

cpp-4.9-dbgsym_4.9.2-16ubuntu1_i386.ddeb:
 Depends: libasan1-dbg (= 4.9.2-16ubuntu1)

cpp-4.9-dbgsym_4.9.2-16ubuntu1_ppc64el.ddeb:
 Depends: libgo5-dbg (= 4.9.2-16ubuntu1)

This needs to be refined to depend on the correct -dbg package in case
there are several.

[Bug 1336555] Re: ovs-vswitchd crashed with SIGSEGV in nl_attr_get_size()

2015-05-11 Thread James Page

https://github.com/openvswitch/ovs/commit/417d7a008b9f280f0e0c603cb6f2871ab75b8d49

some further discussion with upstream would indicate that this is
probably the source of the original problem, but the code optimizer was
concealing the actual root cause in the code.

-desktop-environment-does-not-load . I was hoping a release upgrade may
resolve issues.

The initial process of do-release upgrade works well but after the
calculating changes step I get the following output:

Calculating the changes
Calculating the changes
Could not calculate the upgrade
An unresolvable problem occurred while calculating the upgrade.
This can be caused by:
* Upgrading to a pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Running the current pre-release version of Ubuntu
* Unofficial software packages not provided by Ubuntu

It is quite weird calculating the changes shows twice. I am upgrading
from an LTS version so I don't think I am running a current pre-release
version. I am upgrading to 14.10 while 15.04 is already out so I don't
think I am upgrading to a pre-release version. I am unaware of
unofficial software packages prohibiting upgrade nor how to check if
they do.

Having the same issue. Firefox randomly locks up the system requiring a
hard reset(holding power button, system doesn't respond to anything
else.) The mouse moves but I'm unable to do anything else including
switching to a tty.

2015-05-11 Thread Jens Kehne
I can't reproduce the problem either. This bug report is almost two years old
by now, so the problem probably got fixed somewhere along the way. I'd say you
can just close this.
Thanks a lot though for taking the time to look into it.

[Bug 1453509] Re: simplify command line by only allowing exactly one test argument

2015-05-11 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
I understand but it is annoying for the case you're using the same
configuration file for several packages and just want to change the name
of the package.

For example, if the configuration file contains:
'''
-d
--override-control=control.override
---
qemu
adt-vivid-amd64-cloud.img
'''

And the user wants to specify the package on the command line, you have to use
this order: adt-run PACKAGE @cfg
In this case adt uses the control file of the package instead of the override.

The other option is to change the configuration file to include the name
of the package for each package.

[Bug 1453028] Re: Kernel drops connection with rtl8192cu fixed driver

2015-05-11 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Marko Hrastovec, could you please test the latest upstream kernel
available from the very top line at the top of the page (the release
names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test the daily
folder) following https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds ? It will
allow additional upstream developers to examine the issue.

If the test did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't boot into
the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue to test
the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue. Once
you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version
specifically you tested. If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please
add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil
icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Where XY and Z are numbers corresponding to the kernel version.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug's
Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1453742] [NEW] xorg started to systematically crash after every suspend/resume

2015-05-11 Thread teo1978
Public bug reported:

- I suspended
- I pressed a key to resume
- the screen turned on and I was prompted for the password as usual
- I entered the password

= my previous session was lost, every application I had left open prior
to suspend was closed, all unsaved data was lost and everything was as
if I had just rebooted.

Then I tried suspending and resuming again just for the sake of testing,
and it happened again, exactly the same way.

It now happens 100% of the times systematically.
Now maybe (I hope) it will stop happening after a reboot, but for now, once it
has started happening, it has become systematic.

This is not the first time I observe it.

[Bug 894371] Re: CVE-2011-4112

2015-05-11 Thread Mathew Hodson
** Description changed:

- Kernel panic when running pktgen on a bridge over vlan.
+ The net subsystem in the Linux kernel before 3.1 does not properly restrict
+ use of the IFF_TX_SKB_SHARING flag, which allows local users to cause a
+ denial of service (panic) by leveraging the CAP_NET_ADMIN capability to
+ access /proc/net/pktgen/pgctrl, and then using the pktgen package in
+ conjunction with a bridge device for a VLAN interface.

[Bug 1451728] Re: kde-config-telepathy-accounts package install error

2015-05-11 Thread Ales
Peter Chibunna (peterchibunna) wrote on 2015-05-08:
This makes apt-get install to break.

I can confirm that. Any attempt to install/remove/purge anything results:
kde-telepathy-minimal : Depends: kde-config-telepathy-accounts (= 0.9.0) but
it is not installed
Unmet dependencies
then ends without doing anything.

Running apt-get -f install doesn't help.

[Bug 1336555] Re: ovs-vswitchd crashed with SIGSEGV in nl_attr_get_size()

2015-05-11 Thread James Page
proxied from Joe Stringer@VMware

I wonder if this patch fixes the issue:
https://github.com/openvswitch/ovs/commit/546953509095cec6fad42663b659171618b765d2

Note that the last three lines within the bad_key_len / bad_mask_len
conditional statement are the following:

format_generic_odp_key(ma, ds);
ds_put_char(ds, ')');
return;

This is the same logic as the end of the function, where the backtrace
is reporting the callstack to be. Jarno pointed out that the compiler
could optimize out the first copy of this code to turn into a jump
instruction which jumps inside the if (!is_exact) statement. Hence the
backtrace shows this confusing callstack.

Note that this problem would only present itself if there is:
A) A mismatch between a newer kernel version and an older userspace
(OVS2.3), where
B) The kernel has a new flow match field available which ovs-vswitchd
doesn't understand, and
C) A flow_del command fails for some reason.

It would be great if we could confirm by getting the existing build of
OVS and applying the patch above.

** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+ Open vSwitch daemon crashes, causing flow data to be lost and in an OpenStack
cloud, instance connectivity to be lost.

+ [Original Bug Report]
Hi I find that every 2 days or so I lose part of my cluster.

It seems that openvswitch is crashing... The only message left on syslog
  is as follows:

  syslog:Jul 1 22:52:32 blue-compute kernel: [530482.190688] ovs-
  vswitchd[1935]: segfault at 0 ip 00459110 sp 7fff85804758
  error 4 in ovs-vswitchd[40+133000]

And this is the last message. I'm unable to reboot gracefully. I have to
reset. (This can be because ceph not giving up also).

And I can see a lot of traffic going around in the network. There so
much traffic that some lowend routers/switches fail. Can be because
another problem (machines stalled because the ovs fault and others
trying to connect. Maybe it fails because much traffic). But I tell this
  for completeness.

  Now some info:

Linux version 3.13.0-30-generic (buildd@allspice) (gcc version 4.8.2 (Ubuntu
4.8.2-19ubuntu1) ) #54-Ubu

  vendor_id : AuthenticAMD
  cpu family: 16
  model : 4
model name: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 810 Processor

  Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (server).

  ovs-vsctl --version
  ovs-vsctl (Open vSwitch) 2.0.1
  Compiled Feb 23 2014 14:42:32

I can attach full logs but I think there's nothing useful because only
  one line referring the problem.

NOTE: restarting ovs does not solve the problem.

  syslog:Jul 1 22:52:32 blue-compute kernel: [530482.190688] ovs-
  vswitchd[1935]: segfault at 0 ip 00459110 sp 7fff85804758
  error 4 in ovs-vswitchd[40+133000]

And this is the last message. I'm unable to reboot gracefully. I have to
reset. (This can be because ceph not giving up also).

And I can see a lot of traffic going around in the network. There so
much traffic that some lowend routers/switches fail. Can be because
another problem (machines stalled because the ovs fault and others
trying to connect. Maybe it fails because much traffic). But I tell this
  for completeness.

  Now some info:

Linux version 3.13.0-30-generic (buildd@allspice) (gcc version 4.8.2 (Ubuntu
4.8.2-19ubuntu1) ) #54-Ubu
  ntu SMP Mon Jun 9 22:45:01 UTC 2014 (Ubuntu 3.13.0-30.54-generic 3.13.11.2)

  vendor_id : AuthenticAMD
  cpu family: 16
  model : 4
model name: AMD Phenom(tm) II X4 810 Processor

  Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (server).

  ovs-vsctl --version
  ovs-vsctl (Open vSwitch) 2.0.1
  Compiled Feb 23 2014 14:42:32

I can attach full logs but I think there's nothing useful because only
  one line referring the problem.

NOTE: restarting ovs does not solve the problem.

[Bug 1336555] Re: ovs-vswitchd crashed with SIGSEGV in nl_attr_get_size()

2015-05-11 Thread James Page
The testing PPA:

  https://launchpad.net/~james-page/+archive/ubuntu/openvswitch

has held this patch for a few weeks now - we're running this in our test
cloud and have not seen a recurrence of the problem.
