[Bug 1457781] [NEW] armhf: cpufreq doesn't autoload by default
Public bug reported: While cpufreq support on armhf is available for a while, if support is compiled as a kernel module, the corresponding module doesn't autoload by default, and thus frequency scaling is not active upon boot until a user manually load it (or until /etc/modules is modified to forcibly load it). While in Trusty cpufreq was built-in on armhf, starting with Utopic we made support available as a kernel module, making people think that cpufreq was either broken or missing in their new kernels. To fix it, revert back that decision and make cpufreq compiled-in again on armhf - it affects Utopic and Vivid kernels. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1457781 Title: armhf: cpufreq doesn't autoload by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1457781/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1457753] Re: smbclient not installed by default 15.04 and newer
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Personally I don't mind either way. Users who need smbclient generally know they need it and so should be able to install it themselves. Changing this kind of default between releases isn't really a regression - the point of new releases is to be able to change defaults like this. If you really want this changed, first this needs to be checked on Debian to see if it is an Ubuntu-only issue or not. If this does turn out to apply to Debian too, then I think it is most likely a deliberate design decision and a justification to change it back would need to be made in Debian. I'll mark the Ubuntu task Won't Fix since: 1) I think it is most likely a deliberate change in Debian, therefore not a bug, and not something we'd consider changing directly in Ubuntu over Debian's decision without further justification; and 2) I think it's therefore unlikely that this change will ever happen in Ubuntu, there's little point in keeping a bug open about it, and keeping the bug open gives others misleading expectations. I would be happy for this bug to be re-opened though if any of my assumptions are wrong or if a real reason to change it comes to light. ** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: New = Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1457753 Title: smbclient not installed by default 15.04 and newer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1457753/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1457528] Re: Theme.createStyleComponent deprecation useless warnings are displayed
I've checked the test with staging, and I get warnings for 0.1, 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 imports. So seems staging has some fix which makes the warning to be printed everywhere but 1.3. About the logs, staging (and I think overlay PPA will get it soon) has more info on where the problem relies. I am getting the following log: test.qml:5:5: QML Button: Theme.createStyleComponent() is deprecated. Use ThemeSettings instead. Theme is a context property. Context properties and Singletons are impossible to know from which QML file are invoked. So we cannot really display any meaningful information on where the component is used. We cannot know whether the functionality is called from a toolkit component or from an application or custom component based on toolkit. As seen above, the staging which is also planned to be released, has more information on Theme.createStyleComponent(), but that is the only one can give valuable information. Theme.palette or Theme.name will not know the caller context, and will not be able to specify from what document it is addressed. ** Changed in: ubuntu-ui-toolkit (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Committed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1457528 Title: Theme.createStyleComponent deprecation useless warnings are displayed To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-ui-toolkit/+bug/1457528/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

** Changed in: samba (Ubuntu) Status: New = Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1457753 Title: smbclient not installed by default 15.04 and newer To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/1457753/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1390625] Re: mouse cursor gets corrupted
The xserver-xorg installiation fixes the issue but, in my case, it introduces another issue. A great number of artifacts, little white or black horizontal lines sometimes appear/disappear on the screen in relation with the mouse movement. The solution of changing the intel method of accelleration to uxa works too, but it has the same side effects. I suspect that installing xserver-xorg in some way changes the accelleration to uxa... -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1390625 Title: mouse cursor gets corrupted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/elementaryos/+bug/1390625/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1457400] Re: linconnect_server.py hangs on shut down
This probably got introduced with the fix for bug 1448259. So, this general behaviour is correct in the sense that processes should not be killed immediately after SIGTERMing them. But 90s is a bit much for session shutdowns, this could be reduced to something like 30 s. This is still a long session shutdown, but you really wan this if e. g. LibreOffice asks you about unsaved documents and the like. [Bug 1379960] Re: Menu interaction in fully maximised window causes the next click on the title bar to restore the window
This is a bug in libnux-4.0-0 on amd64, caused by the code in GraphicsDisplay::MousePress (NuxGraphics/GraphicsDisplayX11.cpp) which converts the unsigned long timestamp to a signed int: if ((double_click_counter_ == 1) ((int)current_time - (int)last_click_time_ double_click_time_delay)) The timestamp is in milliseconds, so it becomes negative after about 24.86 days. The comparison works ok until the final click on the title bar, when last_click_time_ is 0. Subtracting 0 from the negative current_time results in a value that is always less than double_click_time_delay. The unnecessary cast to int should be removed. [Bug 1258219] Re: smbclient 'put' fails with absolute path to local file
I know this thread is quite old, but just in case... Sorry, Robie, but I don't understand you. What could be the advantage or intentionality behind it?
