[Bug 1346740] Re: drac plugin in dovecot uses wrong plugin version string
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Looks like this still affects Debian VCS master since the patch there also uses DOVECOT_VERSION: http://anonscm.debian.org/cgit/collab- maint/dovecot.git/tree/debian/patches/dovecot-drac.patch#n58 If this is true, then this needs to be verified in Debian and a bug filed there, as a fixed patch would need to be applied to both. Patches welcome. > Same issue like Guillaume. Please set importance to high. Sorry, I disagree. GIven that this is being reported as affecting 14.04, it has been out for 18 months now and only three users are affected according to this report, it is reasonable to assume that this affects unusual end-user configurations, so according to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/Importance the appropriate importance is Low. However, that doesn't stop any affected from helping. If someone provides a patch I will help get it landed. ** Changed in: dovecot (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dovecot in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1346740 Title: drac plugin in dovecot uses wrong plugin version string To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dovecot/+bug/1346740/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1510016] [NEW] Cannot upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10 (Could not calculate the upgrade)
Public bug reported: I have Ubuntu 15.04 installed, with three PPAs enabled (Cinnamon Stable, Oracle Java and Google's tlk plugin). I tried to upgrade to Ubuntu 15.10, and during the upgrade process I got the "Could not calculate the upgrade" error. Disabling the PPAs didn't help. Looking into /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log I saw an error with the package unity. As I use cinnamon as my DM, I just uninstalled unity. But now there is a similar error with update-manager, which I cannot uninstall, as I need that one for the upgrade. This is the current error shown: 2015-10-26 10:45:12,421 ERROR Dist-upgrade failed: 'The package 'update- manager' is marked for removal but it is in the removal blacklist.' [Bug 1499746] Re: Early Syslinux Boot Error in pendrive made with the Ubuntu Startup Disk Creator
The Wily Release Notes (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/WilyWerewolf/ReleaseNotes#Boot .2C_installation_and_post-install) indicate that a 15.10 Live USB may be successfully created using usb-creator "on a matching release of Ubuntu" (i.e., Ubuntu 15.10.) I believe this is incorrect, as I have successfully *upgraded* from 15.04 to 15.10, but am unable to create a bootable USB stick with ubuntu-15.10-desktop-amd64.iso using either usb- creator-gtk 0.2.67ubuntu1 or UNetbootin 6081(wily). In all attempts, "SYSLINUX 6.03... Boot error" message results as initially described. I also tried using UNetbootin to install the latest "daily-live-x64" iso with the same boot error. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1499746 Title: Early Syslinux Boot Error in pendrive made with the Ubuntu Startup Disk Creator To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-release-notes/+bug/1499746/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1509929] Re: kernel panic after booting up 4 hours
Checking the referred links it sounds indeed like the following patch is required for the e1000e driver (even or because it is not in use). Seems like it has been asked to be included in 4.2 before release but nothing happened. Did not see it either in Dave Millers most recent stable mbox. I am preparing a test kernel and will update this report with a link once done. >From 37b12910dd11d9ab969f2c310dc9160b7f3e3405 Mon Sep 17 00:00:00 2001 From: Raanan AvargilDate: Sun, 19 Jul 2015 16:33:20 +0300 Subject: [PATCH] e1000e: Fix tight loop implementation of systime read algorithm Change the algorithm. [Bug 1510042] [NEW] linking against -ljsoncpp fails with clang
Public bug reported: On updating ubuntu from 15.04 to 15.10, I see changes in how clang resolves references to some libraries. (I think this is not an ubuntu question but rather a clang question and that I've missed some subtlety on how clang has recently changed. I suspect initially that this is related to the gcc-5 ABI changes, but I'm not sure how to proceed.) Here's a tiny test example designed only to tickle the phenomenon: #include #include int main(int argc, char *argv[]) { std::cout << argc << " - " << argv[0] << std::endl; Json::Reader reader; Json::Value root; reader.parse("", root, false); std::cout << reader.getFormattedErrorMessages() << std::endl; return 0; } If I compile like this clang++ -ggdb3 -Wall -Wextra -std=c++14 -o json_test json_test.cc -ljsoncpp /tmp/json_test-680d3a.o: In function `main': /tmp/json_test.cc:10: undefined reference to `Json::Reader::getFormattedErrorMessages() const' clang: error: linker command failed with exit code 1 (use -v to see invocation) And yet the definition appears to be present: jeff@birdsong:src $ objdump -TC /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libjsoncpp.so | grep getFormatted e190 gDF .text 04d2 Base Json::OurReader::getFormattedErrorMessages[abi:cxx11]() const dc70 gDF .text 04d2 Base Json::Reader::getFormattedErrorMessages[abi:cxx11]() const jeff@birdsong:src $ The abi:cxx11 suggests I might at least try this clang++ -ggdb3 -Wall -Wextra -std=c++11 -o json_test json_test.cc -ljsoncpp but same error. [Bug 1510044] [NEW] default firefox instance not settable by user
Public bug reported: When running more than two firefox profiles at once, the "wrong" instance sometimes handles events. More specifically, programs that request a new browser tab or window are handled by firefox's idea of the correct instance. But this may not be the instance I want. Typically, a work-around is to copy the URL, close the tab/window, and open a new tab or window in the firefox instance where I want it. (It would be nice to be able to tell firefox which instance I want to use.) In the even of using ubuntu-bug, even that does not work due to something related to OpenID. The page in the new browser displays "Invalid OpenID transaction". Since the default browser instance doesn't have my launchpad credentials, the only way to file a bug is to quit all firefox instances using profiles other than the profile that has my launchpad credentials. [Bug 1510009] [NEW] Java 1.8.0_66 is extremely deadlock prone regarding AWT/GTK interaction
Public bug reported: Since upgrading to Ubuntu 15.10 from Ubuntu 15.04, the various GUI applications that I run, including Netbeans and Minecraft have been suffering from dead/waitlocks which prevent them from operating properly. Since I have reproduced this issue these two completely different codebases, I am moving the bug further upstream. The original Netbeans bug report can be viewed here: https://netbeans.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=256124 Essentially, during routine interaction and calling of various AWT methods, somewhere between 8u45 (15.04) and 8u66 (15.10), something broke causing the application to hang intermittently when these methods are called. [Bug 1509984] Re: package mysql-common 5.6.25-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete. If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively" http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: mysql-5.6 (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1509984 Title: package mysql-common 5.6.25-0ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.6/+bug/1509984/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
