[Bug 1486841] Re: from click import commands: ImportError: cannot import name 'commands'

2015-11-24 Thread Colin Watson
Right, there's an unfortunate name clash with an entirely different
Python package called "click" and it looks like you had the latter
installed in your home directory. A better workaround would probably be
"pip3 uninstall click".

I've committed a patch for our next release to take evasive action in
this case.

[Bug 1270245] Re: Backward frame jumps on mali (Nexus 10 & krillin)

2015-11-24 Thread Kevin DuBois
I think the root cause here is that the mali based hwc implementations
are not clearing the fences set in the FRAMEBUFFER_TARGET layer after a
gl swap. Will come up with a quirk to compensate.

[Bug 1480877] Re: Access points' "PropertiesChanged" dbus signals freeze UI on mobile devices

2015-11-24 Thread Tony Espy
@Lorn

Did you see this recently? If so, what device and image?

As I mentioned, the mobile connection on touch doesn't support IPv6
connections. There was a bug in NM that falsely reported that a
default IPv6 route was available, but this was fixed awhile back.
Please see bug #1444162 for details. Perhaps this is what you were
seeing?

2015-11-24 Thread Luke Horwell
The program is intended to look and feel like a desktop application. As
it is based on a web browser, the context menu exists.

Instead, I've made a commit to disable the context menu. The changes are in my
local repository, I will initiate a pull request soon.

[Bug 1519350] [NEW] wifi crash after awakening from suspend

2015-11-24 Thread Laurent
Public bug reported:

After awakening from suspend, the wifi does not work anymore (neither
does the Ethernet interface).

It seems the wifi hardware sends an error which cannot be correctly
interpreted by the OS.

In attachment, I give an extract of the syslog. Is that a linux problem,
or specific to my hadware?

Thanks in advance.

Kr,

Laurent.

[Bug 1519365] [NEW] Thunderbird email address autocomplete list got clipped on some XFCE themes

2015-11-24 Thread Ilya Almametov
Public bug reported:

When one starts typing recipient email address in Thunderbird new message
window an address autocomplete list appears offering some suitable variants for
first typed letter. After pressing second key that list gets clipped to just
several pixels in height, making that feature useless.

Please take a look on next bug report for details:
https://bugzilla.xfce.org/show_bug.cgi?id=12329

After some research I realized that affected Xubuntu themes are: Bluebird,
Greybird and Raleigh.
Moreover, affected Thunderbird versions are 38.x

My distro is Xubuntu 14.04.3 64-bit

[Bug 1516370] Re: Vendor backlight on Lenovo Z580 having random hotkeys issues

2015-11-24 Thread Neale Upstone
Thanks for the attitude. I wasn't "[advising] on the contents of the
article", but trying to be a good citizen in pointing out a bug when I
got to the vendor backlight stage of the process.

I still don't see the point of acpi_backlight=vendor then, but as we're
not going to be addressing that, then I think this bug should be closed.

I don't have the time to go any further with this, and will open a bug
about nvidia drivers if I get that far (as I said).

[Bug 1519352] [NEW] notification about missing shutdown/reboot permission

2015-11-24 Thread Michael Korn
Public bug reported:

I'm responsible for several Machines with Ubuntu 14.04. The Users do not have
the permission to shutdown/reboot if other users are logged in (ssh sessions
included).
I'm using policys for
org.freedesktop.login1.reboot-multiple-sessions;org.freedesktop.login1.power-off-multiple-sessions;org.freedesktop.login1.suspend-multiple-sessions;org.freedesktop.login1.hibernate-multiple-sessions

This is working fine, but the users get no notification about the situation:
1) If the user is logged in, he can click on shutdown but he gets just the
option to log out. This is nice, but not perfect, a message about the reason
would be good.
2) If the user is not logged in, he can click on shutdown but he gets no
options. Just a small window with "Are you sure you want to shut down the
computer?". There are no buttons and it's looking like a bug.

The 2nd case is really bad for me. Typical situation: one user is
working remote on the computer, then a windows user comes into the
laboratory. The computer seems on but free and the windows user wants to
reboot to boot windows. Some windows users find a hard way to reboot!

[Bug 1518985] Re: Please merge suitesparse 1:4.4.5-2 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2015-11-24 Thread Graham Inggs
After building fop 1:2.0+dfsg-4 in my PPA, I was able to build scilab as
well.

Scilab requires fop >=2.0, but fop (main) build-depends on libfontbox-
java (universe) and libmockito-java (universe) so is stuck on depwait in
-proposed.

I'll investigate whether fop can be built without libfontbox-java and
libmockito-java, and also look at preparing MIRs for them.

[Bug 1451554] Re: Every key is pressed twice on the desktop

2015-11-24 Thread Michael Sheldon
This looks like it's an upstream Qt bug, the release signal is sent
twice when clicking a MultiPointTouchArea with a mouse, there's a bug
report for this here: https://bugreports.qt.io/browse/QTBUG-44370 which
also includes a patch against 5.6 that's currently still in review.

Would the qtdeclarative-opensource-src maintainers be willing to
backport that patch and apply it against 5.5? Or should I attempt to
work around it in the keyboard?

go to sound settings.

Headset is listed there. I tell sound settings to switch output to the
headset. It doesn't switch (i.e., when I play a test sound, it's still
coming out of the laptop's speakers).

I unplug the USB headset and plug it back in. Same problem.

I log out and log back in again. Same problem.

To actually fix this problem, I have to run pulseaudio -k and then
pluseaudio --start --log-target=syslog.

I suspect this is related to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg/+bug/1518411 . Is that
possible?

[Bug 1519372] [NEW] Invalid command 'SubstituteMaxLineLength' even though Apache2 is updated

2015-11-24 Thread Rubén Díaz
Public bug reported:

Running Ubuntu 14.04 with the latest available package from the official
repo:

Server version: Apache/2.4.7 (Ubuntu)
Server built: Oct 14 2015 14:20:21

Been using mod_substitute for a long while without issues. Recently
stumbled upon the following error:

[Tue Nov 24 13:52:34.099427 2015] [substitute:error] [pid 2617:tid
139869611312896] [client x] AH01328: Line too long, URI /shell.js,
referer: x

The default value for the maximum line size handled by mod_substitute is
"1m", and to increase this, "SubstituteMaxLineLength" directive has to
be set as shown here:
http://httpd.apache.org/docs/2.4/mod/mod_substitute.html#substitutemaxlinelength

However, this will yield the following:

Invalid command 'SubstituteMaxLineLength', perhaps misspelled or defined
by a module not included in the server configuration

After spending a while trying to figure out if this was only available
in Apache 2.5 (it's not - it's available since 2.4.11) or if I misplaced
it, I tried to use a slightly more updated package from this PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~ondrej/+archive/ubuntu/apache2 and it worked
right away.

I'm inclined to think that the mod_substitute included in the official
package is an old version.

[Bug 657031] Re: [08ff:2810] AuthenTec, Inc. AES2810 fingerprint reader not recognized (worked in 10.04)

2015-11-24 Thread Jonas Strassel
I installed from the ppa, so I'd most likely have the newest built
already.

In the ppas list you linked "08ff:2810" is clearly marked as working.
Sad you're out.

Perhaps there's still sb out there that has it and can confirm this a
bug. If not I'd guess some weird hardware issues.

2015-11-24 Thread Sebastien Bacher
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. The issue you are reporting is an upstream one and it
would be nice if somebody having it could send the bug to the developers
of the software by following the instructions at

[Bug 1029656] Re: nslcd does not start on boot everytime

2015-11-24 Thread Michael Korn
I need to correct myself. This issue was gone for awhile. Then I had problems
again on and off.
I can observe this issue regularly, now.

Maybe I will install a script as workaround, that calls "service nscd
restart" one minute after booting. Any better suggestions?

[Bug 1519387] Re: nautilus crashes when deleting a file on a cifs mount

2015-11-24 Thread Karl-Philipp Richter
> that could be a duplicate of bug #1512826
At most related because the symptoms are different (the window disappears in my
case while `nautilus` freezes in the other) and in my case the crash is
triggered when deleting any file from a `cifs` mount, not just one named
`.trash_1000`.

[Bug 1409678] Re: Bluetooth settings provides no way to distinguish bluetooth devices.

2015-11-24 Thread James Lewis
** Description changed:

Both on the phone, and on the desktop there is no way to tell the
difference between similar paired bluetooth devices when connecting... I
have several different bluetooth receivers for headphones, in the car
and in the house and garage... each uses the same chip and these devices
are labeled the same so I now have to select from a list of 4 identical
labels to connect to one of these.

Other environments are able to rename bluetooth devices such that it is
- possible to dell one device from another.

[Bug 1511292] Re: Online address book can't be set up due to keyring request

2015-11-24 Thread Barry Drake
I ended up doing a lot more work on this, which I then reported as Ubuntu bug
#1519098, with an upstream Gnome bug report at:
Gnome bug #758581 that you looked at earlier today. This bug can be closed
now I have located the cause. I had tried to report this bug to the Evolution
project team, not having used the Gnome bug reporting system until today. This
bug needs closing.
