[Bug 1534680] Re: error after booting 15.10

2016-01-16 Thread Luc Henderieckx
System program error discovered. Unfortunately there was an internal error in
Ubuntu 15.10.
After clicking away the error messages ubuntu seems to be working fine.
I had some problems before (with earlier versions of ubuntu) with the video
driver of AMD (GPU build-in in the microprocessor).

** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete => Confirmed

** Summary changed:

- error after booting 15.10
+ error after booting 15.10, ubuntu seems to be working fine afterwards

[Bug 1534908] [NEW] [27148UG, Conexant CX20561 (Hermosa), Green Headphone Out, Front] No sound at all

2016-01-16 Thread khaktus
Public bug reported:

There is no audio going through the HDMI cable (display port) into my TV set.
There is no HDMI option in the Audio Setting.
I have tried installing recommended "pavucontrol", though even that tool does
not see HDMI option.

Your troubleshooting menus are designed in ridiculous way, they focus on
(and test) just headphones, no such option as toubleshooting alternate
audio outputs.

[Bug 1368712] Re: language cannot be selected under Region and Language in Settings

2016-01-16 Thread Bruce Pieterse
There was some work done in 15.10 which allows installation of language
packs in Region & Language under Settings. Vivid will be reaching EOL at
the end of this month as well. Could you confirm if this is still a
problem for you under 15.10?

[Bug 1483343] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2016-01-16 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From pavsu...@in.ibm.com 2016-01-16 05:05 EDT---
I have copied lock_torture script on to the P8 server with the 3.13 kernel
installed.
Then executed the test script again in-order to re-create the scenario.

root@powerkvmpok002:/opt/ltp/testcases/bin# ./lock_torture.sh
lock_torture 1 TCONF : Test requires locktorture module
lock_torture 1 TINFO : cleanup

root@powerkvmpok002:/opt/ltp/testcases/bin# modprobe locktorture
modprobe: FATAL: Module locktorture not found.

As can be seen above the locktorture module is required in 3.13 kernel.
I think, this module is not supported in the 3.13 kernel.

[Bug 1534917] [NEW] calamaris cronjob setup doesn't allow specification of log file directory

2016-01-16 Thread Karl-Philipp Richter
Public bug reported:

The `cron` job `/etc/cron.daily/calamaris` invokes `/usr/lib/calamaris
/calamaris-cron-script` which parses `/etc/calamaris/cron.conf` which

of the log file and a mode which doesn't allow it to cover custom

[Bug 1371274] Re: Unable to use the widevine plugin with Chromium

2016-01-16 Thread Claude Libois
Well I have downloaded the raspbian build with the drivers installed. Has to
install chromium version 47, change user-agent to arm chromeos, took widevine
from the chromeos recovery image provided by google as already explained.
I get netflix playing, chromium indicate there is a gpu acceleration but cpu
still high and render is not yet smooth. Did post a question on rasperry forum
and try to get in touch with someone who could help me with no luck. Also, as I
have to use my tv to get gpu decoding(doesn't work with vnc as it's based on
opengl) which means I can't do it while my wife is watching TV

[Bug 1534927] Re: Calc wants to print wrong document and exits with unsaved changes to the document

2016-01-16 Thread Thomas Mayer
The problem can be worked around by not opening testcase.odt. However,
if the user accidently does not apply this workaround, he or she is
faced with the problem as soon as he or she presses STRG+P (or uses the
printing dialog from the menu).

As already mentioned, I was faced with data loss in libreoffice

[Bug 1534931] [NEW] zh_CN translation of gnome-panel is nearly perfect, while missing 4-word translation

2016-01-16 Thread Cui Wei
Public bug reported:

I'm using Gnome-Session-Flashback under Ubuntu 16.04 amd64,

only 4 phrases are not translated in zh_CN.UTF-8 from Gnome Panel->

msgid "Restart"
msgstr "重启"

msgid "Menu to change your settings and log out"
msgstr "修改设置和注销的菜单"

[Bug 1509721] Re: 8086:29c2 [HP Pavilion a6613es Desktop PC] Graphical corruption

2016-01-16 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
José Vidal, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the next
most latest upstream kernel available from the very top line at the top
of the page from http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D
(the release names are irrelevant for testing, and please do not test
the daily folder)? Install instructions are available at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds . This will allow
additional upstream developers to examine the issue.

If testing on your main install would be inconvenient, one may:
1) Install Ubuntu to a different partition and then test this there.
2) Backup, or clone the primary install.

If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't
boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue
to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue.
Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version
specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please
add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil
icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Where X, and Y are the first two numbers of the kernel version, and Z is
the release candidate number if it exists.

If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of
kernel-bug-exists-upstream.

Once testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, please mark this
report's Status as Confirmed. Please let us know your results.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1242678]

2016-01-16 Thread Antonio Ospite
Created attachment 120955
This files result eventually in a pixman crash

Hi,

this rotation issue seems to be also causing a crash in pixman in some
cases:

  https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=87588

I am attaching a file which makes the crash reproducible here.

BTW another test-case for the invalid rotation is the output of
kxbprint, reproducible like this:

  xkbprint :0.0 keyboard.ps
  evince keyboard.ps

The latter sometimes crashes and sometimes don't, at least on my system.

Ciao ciao,
   Antonio

and I will take a look for including it on Debian and later be merged on
Ubuntu. Thanks

2016-01-16 Thread gohghova
In my case the following paths was directory, not file. I just remove it

sudo rm -rf /lib/systemd/system/wacom-inputattach@.service
sudo rm -rf /lib/udev/rules.d/69-wacom.rules
sudo rm -rf /usr/share/X11/xorg.conf.d/50-wacom.conf

After that upgrade work without error.

[Bug 1532226] Re: A significant number of fresh boots or restarts result in no menus for most apps

2016-01-16 Thread Doug McMahon
I'm starting to think there is some correlation between this bug & the number
of populated dir. on the Desktop. Seems to not occur when # is 22 or less.
Also boot time to Desktop may be a contributing factor, here I'm on an ssd
(external but fast, usually less than 10 sec. from grub to Desktop)

[Bug 1217912] Re: next record broken

2016-01-16 Thread Thomas Wailersbacher
I now have a clearer Idea of what (at least in my case) went wrong, and
it is not related to "Next record" being broken, but to the mail merge
assistant.

I was fooled by my assumption of the merge mail assistant producing wysiwyg
output in step 6, where it lets you check the contents of the fields inside
your merging template document.
The assistant does fill fields with data, but does not recognize the next
record field correctly, as can be seen in the attached example files.
What I did was stop here, as the document was clearly not looking as I intended
it to. That led me to the idea that I needed to change sth. in the document to
fix the problem. Had I printed it, everything would have looked correctly.

I do think, that the program should provide a way to inform the user of
this problem, either by a note in the documentation or by indicating it
somewhere in the GUI/assistant. IMHO best would be to change the
assistant and make it recognize the Next record field better.

2016-01-16 Thread Colin Law
I can confirm that updating to BIOS 1.20 also fixes it for me (with SSD
drive). Strange that the problem only exhibited itself with certain
kernel versions. So it seems Joseph and myself have wasted our time
bisecting the kernel. Sorry Joseph. I learnt a lot in the process
however. I will close the bug, I presume that correct status is '

Instead, how about the latest stable mainline kernel via

Thomas Wailersbacher, it will help immensely if you filed a new report with the

ubuntu-bug libreoffice

Please feel free to subscribe me to it.

For more on why this is helpful, please see:

Also, please don't tar/compress files as it makes it harder for
developers to review and fix.

[Bug 1405084] Re: VERY slow when using images in Writer

2016-01-16 Thread robegue
apport information

** Tags added: kubuntu

** Description changed:

Scolling and typing becomes painfully slow when an image is added in
LibreOffice Writer. It becomes faster (not much) when the same image
  covers a smaller area.

From settings, I've tried to maximize the graphics memory, and to
enable/disable hardware acceleration and antialiasing, but it doesn't
  help.

The problem persists in LibreOffice 4.3.5-rc2 from ubuntu PPA.
