[Bug 1555751] Re: Some apps require a restart after switching to/from Wifi/Cellular to reconnect to the network

2016-03-10 Thread Lorn Potter
It could very well be these apps are doing something that is causing this
behaviour.
I am not convinced this is an issue with QNAM.

[Bug 1555468] Re: package python-sphinx 1.2.3+dfsg-1ubuntu3 failed to install/upgrade: le sous-processus script post-installation installé a retourné une erreur de sortie d'état 1

2016-03-10 Thread Matthieu
Hi Dmitry, I have exactly pass (or at least try to :) ) my sphinx
installation from Python 2 to Python 3.

My /usr/bin/pycompile is linked to python 2.7

#! /usr/bin/python2.7 (first line)

And the return of the command asked is "Python 2.7.10"

Have you any way to help me fix the issue ?

By the way thanks for taking time to help me !

[Bug 1546978] Re: apparmor does not allow to run qemu-dm executable

2016-03-10 Thread Serge Hallyn
Hi James,

the kilo libvirt package (which I assume this is?) does indeed not have
a rule for qemu-dm, which does exist in xen-utils-4.4 in trusty (and
there is no xen-utils in kilo archive).

Note this bug is not valid against the xenial libvirt package, as there
is no qemu-dm binary in xen-utils-4.6 there. I also can't fix it in
vivid since that is no longer valid. It is valid in 14.04 though so
I'll mark it as affecting that.

[Bug 1555751] Re: Some apps require a restart after switching to/from Wifi/Cellular to reconnect to the network

2016-03-10 Thread Timo Jyrinki
I can confirm it but also I can confirm it seems identical on OTA-9.
This is useful to know because a month ago we landed a big network
related landing consisting of fixes to bug #1470700 bug #1506015 bug
#1507769 bug #1528886 etc. So at least it's not a regression.

Looking with the
https://bugs.launchpad.net/savilerow/+bug/1357321/comments/99 tool, it
seems to continue working with HTTP GET when there's a configuration
change (and the configuration change seems to happen correctly with a
0.5s of Network session error when switching).

2016-03-10 Thread Serge Hallyn
Since this was installed as 14.04, and libvirt-bin is not installed

This shouldn't prevent the package install from succeeding though.
Indeed if I mask libvirt-bin and then do a apt-get install --reinstall
libvirt-bin, the install does succeed. Even an install of gnome-boxes
succeeds.

I'll mark this invalid meaning we've lost access to the reproducer, but
if you can reproduce at well please reply.

2016-03-10 Thread sudodus
I ran pcm_avail after changing to device #1

/* const char* device = "hw:0"; */
const char* device = "hw:1";

and re-compiling.

I redirected the error output to the attached file.

[Bug 1531703] Re: virsh save doesn't work for vm with hdd image in non-default location, AppArmor-related error

2016-03-10 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for reporting this bug. I can't reproduce it here:

0 ✓ serge@sl ~ $ virsh start docker
Domain docker started
0 ✓ serge@sl ~ $ virsh save docker /mnt/docker.dmp

Domain docker saved to /mnt/docker.dmp

Same happened on a 15.10 host.

Can you append your full xml?

Normally the apparmor profile messages happen when there is a pathname
which confuses virt-aa-helper or libvirt.

[Bug 1539158] Re: Unable to pair with in-car hands-free system after OTA-9 update

2016-03-10 Thread Simon Fels
Analyzed the latest log files and came to following conclusion about
that is going on here:

The key point here is that the car initiates the pairing with the phone
which then leads to a timing problem in ubuntu-system-settings. But step
by step:

Feb 23 09:43:45 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]:
src/adapter.c:device_found_callback() hci0 addr 84:38:35:62:28:DF, rssi -91
flags 0x eir_len 72
Feb 23 09:43:45 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/device.c:device_create()
dst 84:38:35:62:28:DF
Feb 23 09:43:45 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/device.c:device_new()
address 84:38:35:62:28:DF
Feb 23 09:43:45 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/device.c:device_new()
Creating device /org/bluez/hci0/dev_84_38_35_62_28_DF

Feb 23 09:43:45 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]:

Feb 23 09:43:45 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]:

Feb 23 09:43:45 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/device.c:device_set_class()
/org/bluez/hci0/dev_84_38_35_62_28_DF 0x38010C

Here we see that bluez correctly finds the device and directly continues
with an pairing attempt which it gets from the remote device

Feb 23 09:43:46 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]:
src/adapter.c:pin_code_request_callback() hci0 00:0A:30:B3:52:4B
Feb 23 09:43:46 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/device.c:device_create()
dst 00:0A:30:B3:52:4B
Feb 23 09:43:46 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/device.c:device_new()
address 00:0A:30:B3:52:4B
Feb 23 09:43:46 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/device.c:device_new()
Creating device /org/bluez/hci0/dev_00_0A_30_B3_52_4B
Feb 23 09:43:46 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/device.c:new_auth()
Requesting agent authentication for 00:0A:30:B3:52:4B
Feb 23 09:43:46 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/agent.c:agent_ref()
0xb7113930: ref=2
Feb 23 09:43:46 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: src/agent.c:agent_ref()
0xb7113930: ref=3

So there is basically no time span between the phone detecting the
device and getting the pairing request. BlueZ then sends out the pairing
request to its registered agents:

Feb 23 09:43:46 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]: Agent
/com/canonical/SettingsBluetoothAgent/adapteragent replied with an error:
org.bluez.Error.Rejected, The request was rejected: RequestPinCode
Feb 23 09:43:46 ubuntu-phablet bluetoothd[880]:
src/adapter.c:btd_adapter_pincode_reply() hci0 addr 00:0A:30:B3:52:4B pinlen 0

.. which gets denied from settings app as it doesn't have the device in
its internal list yet. See https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~system-
settings-touch/ubuntu-system-
settings/trunk/view/head:/plugins/bluetooth/agent.cpp#L115 for details.

We need to rework ubuntu-system-settings here to add the new device
based on the object path it gets from bluez with the pairing request.

** Also affects: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Changed in: bluez (Ubuntu)
   Status: Confirmed => Invalid

** Changed in: ubuntu-system-settings (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1555671] Re: Kernel crash with tshark/tcpdump

2016-03-10 Thread Philipp Marek
Using http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v4.5-rc7-wily/linux-
image-4.5.0-040500rc7-generic_4.5.0-040500rc7.201603061830_ppc64el.deb
the bnx2x interfaces don't come up by themselves; I've had to use the
serial console to do "ifconfig eth3 up" manually.

Other than that, "tcpdump -i br0" works on this kernel, or at least doesn't
crash it immediately:
  493 packets captured
  536 packets received by filter
  43 packets dropped by kernel
  [  397.614186] device br0 left promiscuous mode

you've reported it against 14.04.3. This is definitely not a bug that
will be fixed in the 14.04 series.

[Bug 1551078] Re: CDROM installation fails for ubuntu 14.04.3 if another CDROM of ubuntu version is attached to same system

2016-03-10 Thread Steve Langasek
The information in the bug is clear. However, it is unlikely that this
bug will be resolved for 16.04. This is a function of the ISO detection
that has been in place in Ubuntu since its inception; the nature of the
image build process means there is no 100% reliable way to determine
which CD is the "right" one, so the heuristics used can fail in the
manner you describe if more than one Ubuntu CD is present on the system
at install time.

I think the obvious workaround, which seems to have sufficed for
everyone up to now, is to not leave multiple CDs in the system when
installing. So I do not agree with the proposed "critical" severity.

[Bug 1555951] [NEW] xfdesktop-settings uses 100% CPU and leaks memory when it runs in xfce4-settings-manager

2016-03-10 Thread Toshio Ito
Public bug reported:

I use Xubuntu 16.04 beta in VirtualBox 4.3 (the host OS is Xubuntu
14.04).

When I open xfdesktop-settings in xfce4-settings-manager, its buttons and menu
items are not responding.
Plus, xfdesktop-settings uses 100% CPU and keeps leaking memory.
When I pushed "Back" button, it works fine, but xfdesktop-settings still runs.
I had to kill it from the terminal.

When I run xfdesktop-settings from the terminal, it works fine.
When I run xfdesktop-settings from the right-click menu of the desktop, it also
works fine.

I'm not aware of any requirement that Windows has to have UEFI on to be
used. One may install Windows with UEFI engaged, or not. It is
recommended not to use UEFI, given UEFI implementations can be spotty.

>"On the other hand, I use windows so rarely now, I could switch the
bios to uefi manually when I need to boot windows. Can grub run windows
without uefi?"

Dual booting Windows and Ubuntu has been done before UEFI was even
invented.

Both would be OK for me. But I have learned to use pavucontrol. I don't
understand the ALSA interface (I have failed to find hardware devices
(unless found automatically) and failed to make them work, unless I
install pulseaudio and pavucontrol).

[Bug 1436074] Re: tab previews black [arale only]

2016-03-10 Thread Bin Li
Shouldn't that patch be:

  if ( !gpuStr.contains("PowerVR Rogue G6200") ||
!verStr.contains("1.3"))

instead of applied:

  if ( !gpuStr.contains("PowerVR Rogue G6200") &&
!verStr.contains("1.3"))

We need skip when G6200 is 1.3, right? So when we use G6200 as 1.1, the
result is false, we also skip it.

[Bug 1554371] Re: [Regression] Volume keys not working after suspend/resume

2016-03-10 Thread Furkan
Unfortunately that's probably impossible, since over 800 packages were
updated. It appears that the (official) mirror I was using hasn't seen
an update since mid-February:
http://mirror.csclub.uwaterloo.ca/ubuntu/dists/

However, I booted into the 20160310 daily ISO earlier to test another
bug. I tried my volume buttons and they seemed to work fine, so I think
my problem may be caused by a package installed on my system, or
possibly some packages not being upgraded properly.

Despite this, it wouldn't hurt to periodically test the latest mainline

[Bug 1547800] Re: gpu stuck on render ring

2016-03-10 Thread Christopher M. Penalver
Robert Jordens, for now, why don't we try to see if the issue is
resolved already, and we may circle back on pinning down a regression if
necessary.

With this in mind, in order to allow additional upstream developers to examine
the issue, at your earliest convenience, could you please test the latest
upstream kernel available from
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/?C=N;O=D ? Please keep in mind
the following:
1) The one to test is at the very top line at the top of the page (not the
daily folder).
2) The release names are irrelevant.
3) The folder time stamps aren't indicative of when the kernel actually was
released upstream.
4) Install instructions are available at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Kernel/MainlineBuilds .

If testing on your main install would be inconvenient, one may:
1) Install Ubuntu to a different partition and then test this there.
2) Backup, or clone the primary install.

If the latest kernel did not allow you to test to the issue (ex. you couldn't
boot into the OS) please make a comment in your report about this, and continue
to test the next most recent kernel version until you can test to the issue.
Once you've tested the upstream kernel, please comment on which kernel version
specifically you tested. If this issue is fixed in the mainline kernel, please
add the following tags by clicking on the yellow circle with a black pencil
icon, next to the word Tags, located at the bottom of the report description:
kernel-fixed-upstream
kernel-fixed-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Where X, and Y are the first two numbers of the kernel version, and Z is
the release candidate number if it exists.

If the mainline kernel does not fix the issue, please add the following tags:
kernel-bug-exists-upstream
kernel-bug-exists-upstream-X.Y-rcZ

Please note, an error to install the kernel does not fit the criteria of
kernel-bug-exists-upstream.

Also, you don't need to apport-collect further unless specifically
requested to do so.

Once testing of the latest upstream kernel is complete, please mark this
report Status Confirmed. Please let us know your results.

Thank you for your understanding.
