[Bug 1557317] [NEW] Juju getting started doesn't work under Virtual Box

2016-03-14 Thread Sam
Public bug reported:

I'm running a Virtual Box instance of Ubuntu 14.04 under a host machine
of Ubuntu 14.04.

I've followed the directions at https://jujucharms.com/get-started

When I run: juju quickstart mediawiki-single

Here are the results:

juju quickstart v2.2.4
contents loaded for bundle mediawiki-single/bundle (services: 2)
reusing the already bootstrapped local environment
retrieving the environment status
connecting to
wss://10.0.3.1:17070/environment/b7b61212-f2c8-4e35-8d92-30362db0d69d/api
environment type: local
bootstrap node series: trusty
charm URL: cs:trusty/juju-gui-51
service juju-gui already deployed
reusing unit juju-gui/0
juju-gui/0 deployment is pending
machine 1 provisioning is pending

It then stays at machine 1 provisioning is pending forever.

I've tried it using both NAT and Bridged networking for the virtual
machine, but neither worked.

Let me know what other information you need. Thanks.

[Bug 1553657] Re: Clicking on camera & microphone settings crashes app

2016-03-14 Thread Andrew Hayzen
I can confirm this issue on mako, therefore I have set this bug to
confirmed.

Also when I go to a website that uses webrtc such as [0] I get the following
output and then a crash, not sure if it is linked or a separate issue?
Received signal 4 b61138d8

FWIW the webrtc site [0] did used to work for the microphone on mako.

[Bug 1557298] [NEW] [Xenial][Bluez5] Low Energy Keyboard is paired incorrectly

2016-03-14 Thread Yung Shen
Public bug reported:

Failed to pair low energy(bluetooth smart, 4.0 or 4.1) devices
correctly.

1. bluetooth smart mouse is being listed as "all type" in bluetooth-
wizard, however it is able to be paired and use, even repair(i'm
mentioning this because in some circumstance low energy device can be
only paired once, bug #1515179)

2. bluetooth smart keyboard is unable to use after bluetooth-wizard says
"OK". Also the passcode input is also not acting interactively like when
pairing with bluetooth 3.0 keyboard.

Above scenario also being verified with bluetoothctl and blueman.

-
More details about versions:

Environment:
xenial daily (20160307)
bluez 5.37-0ubuntu5
gnome-bluetooth 3.18.2-1ubuntu2
blueman 2.0.3-1ubuntu1
bluetooth controller 0cf3:e005 Atheros Communications, Inc. (hci version: 4.1)

Tested devices:
Designer Mouse, bluetooth smart (pairable, work, re-pair work)
Designer Keyboard, bluetooth smart (paired, not working)
BT3.0 keyboard, bluetooth classic (pair and work)
BT3.0 mouse, bluetooth classic (pair and work)

-
In control environment with the same hardware system and devices:
trusty 14.04.1 + dist-upgrade (stay with 3.13 kernel)
bluez5 5.35 (ppa: https://launchpad.net/~vidplace7/+archive/ubuntu/bluez5)

It works with all above devices but can only be pairing through
bluetoothctl, since the older bluetooth-wizard does not understand bluez
5.x. Everything seems works fine, although there are a lot more error
messages, but since this bug is more about xenial, please let me know if
we need more information about this, I'm able to reproduce this trusty
scenario in anytime.

-
Additional note:
A little clarification, since I'm not sure how far the Bluetooth SIG is going
to use Bluetooth Smart(Low Energy, or even Smart-Ready) to cover the
versioning, I decided to just use what ever I saw on the product box.

2016-03-14 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu

packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1557288/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

Re: [Bug 1556387] Re: Unity8 Login Hangs

2016-03-14 Thread Gene Soo
Attaching two screen shots. First is at Signon prompt waiting for Password.
Second is after password entered and "Enter" key depressed.
ieldI don't get another Signon Screen. I get a hung state with an
intermediate screen with No Password entry field. Seems like the signon
request is accepted and waiting for validation like from a server that is
offline.

[Bug 1557295] [NEW] theme is never changed after pressing the button

2016-03-14 Thread XiaoGuo, Liu
Public bug reported:

https://developer.ubuntu.com/api/apps/qml/sdk-15.04.1/Ubuntu.Components.ThemeSettings/

on the page, the code has a little problem. The default theme is:

Ubuntu.Components.Themes.Ambiance

There is no chance to change the them at all according to the code. I
have modified the code a little bit:

Button {
text: theme.name == "Ubuntu.Components.Themes.Ambiance" ?
  "SuruDark" : "Ambiance"
onClicked: {

theme.name = (text == "Ambiance" ?
   "Ubuntu.Components.Themes.Ambiance" :
   "Ubuntu.Components.Themes.SuruDark" )
}
}

With the code, it works fine.

[Bug 1515816] Re: [messaging app] selected SIM hard for some people to see

2016-03-14 Thread Selene Scriven
The new theme uses light blue versus grey instead of the older dark red
vs black. This is easier for red-colorblind people to distinguish, but
it might still be nice to have a change beyond just the color, like a
thicker underline or something. Some are more colorblind than others.

Also, the version used for php-memcached was subjected to an incomplete
replacement (2.2.0-51-ge573a6e+2.2.0-2build1 vs. 2.2.0-95-ge573a6e+2.2.0-2~).

2016-03-14 Thread Pavlushka
apport information

** Changed in: systemd (Ubuntu)
   Status: Incomplete => New

** Description changed:

Booting takes to start almost three minutes after selecting Xubuntu Xenial.
But it does not happen for the Ubuntu 14.04 LTS listed in the same menu.
Xubuntu is installed in a USB 3 external Harddisk and Ubuntu is installed in
internal Harddisk, but it was not happening for other installations.

[Bug 1557258] [NEW] random wifi hangs when transferring large files at high speeds using BCM4331 wifi

2016-03-14 Thread shurikx
Public bug reported:

My system is: macbook pro retina late 2012 with BCM4331 wifi card
OS: ubuntu 15.10
driver version: 6.30.223.248+bdcom-0ubuntu7

When transferring large files over wifi using the BCM4331 the wifi hangs
randomly. echo 1 > reset in /sys... hangs the system. I tried using the
hybrid-v35_64-nodebug-pcoem-6_30_223_271.tar.gz from the Broadcom site,
but the result is the same. This does not seem to be a hardware bug, as
in MacOS I cannot replicate the problem. When this happens, the system
is operational. No kernel panics or other information in logs. iwlist
wlan0 scan reports device busy. rmmod wl hangs the system. When
transfering over smb on low speed (about 10MB/s) the hangs are appearing
less often. However, over NFS (reading) with 30-40 MB/s this happens
after less than 1 minute of the transfer.

[Bug 1436940] Re: Qualcomm Atheros QCA6164 802.11ac Wireless Network Adapter [168c:0041] is not supported

2016-03-14 Thread Miles Krell
dagny, could you elaborate? I find it highly unlikely that adding
firmware files for this card could have deleted a partition from a drive
on your computer. Could your problem have something to do with the
kernel you're using?

[Bug 1556447] Re: lxc-start fails: lxc_cgfsng - cgfsng.c:all_controllers_found:430 - no systemd controller mountpoint found

2016-03-14 Thread Stephen Warren
Thanks. The chown solves the issue. I didn't need to make the
modification to the pam config file at all. I do need to do the chown
every time I log in though, with or without the pam change.

FWIW, when I ssh into the working server, the relevant /sys directory is
owned by swarren:swarren without any intervention. On my laptop, it's
always owned by root:root.

I was rather nervous about doing this. However, it is done.
I shall endeavour to try and remember to report its success or failure in
resolving the bug.
Thank you for your response.

Jen Hart, thank you for reporting this and helping make Ubuntu better.

#down-bios an update to your computer's buggy, insecure, and outdated
BIOS is available (1.9). If you update to this following
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BIOSUpdate does it change anything?

For more on BIOS updates and linux, please see
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/ReportingBugs#Bug_reporting_etiquette
.

Please note your current BIOS is already in the Bug Description, so
posting this on the old BIOS would not be helpful.

Also, you don't have to create a new bug report.

Once the BIOS is updated, if the problem is still reproducible:
1) Please provide the output of the following terminal command (not perform an
apport-collect):
sudo dmidecode -s bios-version && sudo dmidecode -s bios-release-date
2) Please make a comment specifically advising on if there was an improvement
or not.
3) Please mark this report Status New.

If it's not reproducible, please mark this as Invalid.

Thank you for your understanding.

[Bug 1468027] Re: change default CJK fonts to Noto CJK

2016-03-14 Thread Gunnar Hjalmarsson
In an attempt to fix bug #1540063 better I'm playing with variants of
the new 64-language-selector-prefer.conf file via a PPA:

https://launchpad.net/~gunnarhj/+archive/ubuntu/japanese-fonts

However, there is a risk that the current test version of the file
affects rendering of Chinese contents adversely under a non-Chinese
locale. Therefore I'd appreciate if a few Chinese users could install
language-selector from the PPA and let us know how Chinese characters
look in a session with a non-Chinese locale.

You need to know ubuntu 16.04 using which version of kernel

You will find those XRUN/BUGS/invalid position message in system log

[Bug 1557248] [NEW] OpenLDAP: Backport a fix for use-after-free in GnuTLS-related code

2016-03-14 Thread Maciej Puzio
Public bug reported:

May I ask that you backport an upstream patch that resolves the issue of
use-after-free in libldap that interferes with syncrepl, causing
failures and segfaults.

OpenLDAP commit: 283f3ae1713df449cc170965b311b19157f7b7ea
Link:
http://www.openldap.org/devel/gitweb.cgi?p=openldap.git;a=commitdiff;h=283f3ae1713df449cc170965b311b19157f7b7ea
Modifications to file: libraries/libldap/tls_g.c

This problem affects openldap 2.4.41 (in Ubuntu wily), 2.4.42 (in Ubuntu
xenial), as well as in 2.4.44 (current upstream stable version). More details
are availble on OpenLDAP project bug tracker at:
http://www.openldap.org/its/index.cgi/Software%20Bugs?id=8385

Thank you

[Bug 1557246] Re: Sync limba 0.5.6-1 (universe) from Debian unstable (main)

2016-03-14 Thread Matthias Klumpp
Explaining why this should be synced: The release of Limba in Debian fixes the
FTBFS Ubuntu is currently affected by.
Additionally the 0.5.6 release is a massive bugfix release for the venv-build
module of Limba which would be very beneficial to have in an Ubuntu LTS release.

Limba has (AFAIK) no reverse dependencies in Ubuntu (Debian has a few),
so syncing this should be very safe. There have been no API or ABI
breaks in that release too.
