[Bug 1213132] Re: [MIR] dlm

2016-06-30 Thread Steve Langasek
dlm was demoted to universe in xenial with the reorg for build-depends,
since no other packages in main had binary dependencies on it. With the
latest upload of ocfs2-tools to yakkety, this has changed, and libdlm3
is being pulled in again.

The 'redhat-cluster-suite' package which dlm replaced is also still
listed in the server-ship seed, despite not being in any release later
than precise.

I believe the original rationale for the MIR still applies here and am
repromoting the package without a fresh review, since it appears that by
rights it would have been on the server ship seed all along.

2016-06-30 Thread Kai-Heng Feng
Pass the to either gtk_icon_theme_lookup_by_gicon() or
gtk_icon_theme_lookup_by_gicon_for_scale() does not solve the issue.

FWIW, when using gtk_icon_theme_lookup_by_gicon_for_scale() with scale
factor 2, the indicator-power battery icon blurred a little bit.

[Bug 1597991] [NEW] Appmenu doesn't display shortcuts on QT programs

2016-06-30 Thread Sebastian Perez
Public bug reported:

Shortcuts are not visible on QT based programs (Also affects Chrome and
IntelliJ IDEA), GTK programs show menus correctly for the most part.
Problem:
The shortcuts DO work but you can't see them next to the menu item so you have
to rely on the HUD if you didn't knew the shortcut previously.

Workaround:
If appmenu-qt and appmenu-qt5 are removed, menus are shown correctly.
To remove appmenu-qt and appmenu-qt5:

sudo apt remove appmenu-qt appmenu-qt5

[Bug 1597984] [NEW] horizontal scrolling with middle trackpoint button broken

2016-06-30 Thread Jim Cline
Public bug reported:

Horizontal scrolling with the middle trackpoint button on Thinkpad X260 does
not work as expected.
I noticed the problem in nedit, where holding the middle button while dragging
the cursor over the text to be copied is a fast way of copying text. But the
cursor does not move, so this feature does not work. In chromium, scrolling
works with the cursor in place, but this is not the same functionality as with
a real mouse, which is what is supposed to be emulated. This all worked
perfectly in Ubuntu 10.10 (what I have been using until now).

The difference between scrolling with the middle button of a real mouse and the
broken emulation
is that with a real mouse, xev sees a ButtonPress event (button 2) followed by
MotionNotify events, followed by a ButtonRelease event, whereas with the
trackpoint it sees a series of ButtonPress and ButtonRelease events (buttons
4,5,6,7) with no MotionNotify events. Completely different behavior from what
an application is expecting. Since this worked in a previous release, is
there some
work-around?

I'm here to report a similar issue. But what distinguishes my case from
all of you is that I formatted 16.04 straight from live media. I never
upgraded from 14.04.

[Bug 1597971] [NEW] kernel: signal return with invalid floating-point control

2016-06-30 Thread bugproxy
Public bug reported:

Please backport:
commit bcf4dd5f9ee096bd1510f838dd4750c35df4e38b
Author: Martin Schwidefsky
Date: Mon Jun 27 17:06:45 2016 +0200

s390: fix test_fp_ctl inline assembly contraints

The test_fp_ctl function is used to test if a given value is a valid
floating-point control. The inline assembly in test_fp_ctl uses an
incorrect constraint for the 'orig_fpc' variable. If the compiler
chooses the same register for 'fpc' and 'orig_fpc' the test_fp_ctl()
function always returns true. This allows user space to trigger
kernel oopses with invalid floating-point control values on the
signal stack.

This problem has been introduced with git commit 4725c86055f5bbdcdf
"s390: fix save and restore of the floating-point-control register"

[Bug 1597961] [NEW] Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth 4.0 not working on Ubuntu 16.04

2016-06-30 Thread Antonio Vinicius Menezes Medeiros
Public bug reported:

Acer Aspire E15 laptop (model number E5-573-54ZV) with Windows 10 and
Bluetooth 4.0 adapter out of the box. While using Windows, I'm able to
use the Bluetooth adapter.

I've installed Ubuntu 16.04 in dual boot. While using Ubuntu, the
Bluetooth adapter is the only piece of hardware that does not work.

I've been instructed at Ask Ubuntu to file a bug report against package
linux: http://askubuntu.com/q/791785/560233

A report made using AIDA64 for Windows shows:

04CA 3014 Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth 4.0

I don't know if that helps, but my laptop also has an Atheros Wi-Fi
adapter, which the AIDA report shows as Atheros AR9565 802.11b/g/n
Wireless Network Adapter, a PCI device with ID 168C-0036.

[Bug 1571295] Re: pptpd module config loaded at wrong location

2016-06-30 Thread Drone4four
Check this out:

Bash $ locate pptpd.conf
/etc/pptpd.conf
/lib/modprobe.d/pptpd.conf
/usr/share/man/man5/pptpd.conf.5.gz
/var/lib/dpkg/info/pptpd.conffiles
/var/tmp/mkinitramfs_wjbMMF/etc/modprobe.d/pptpd.conf

@ironstorm, like you, my /etc/modprobe.d/pptpd.conf doesn't exist and
/lib/modules-load.d/ doesn't exist either. But inside /lib/modprobe.d/
is pptd.conf . There is only one line in that configuration file which
simply reads: nf_nat_pptp . So I invoked: sudo mv
/lib/modprobe.d/pptpd.conf /lib/modprobe.d/pptpd.conf.bak That fixed my
issue.

It’s also important to note that a few weeks ago I set up a VPN with
Private Internet Access being my VPN service provider. I used a few
guides but I don’t remember which one instructed me to create a
pptpd.conf . For the better part of the last half hour I went on a
search party through bookmarks and Chrome history for the guide, no
dice. I don’t know why I created that file. But after moving the file
to /lib/modprobe.d/pptpd.conf.bak , $ sudo apt-get upgrade works without
the errors reported here.

[Bug 1555786] Re: [Hyper-V] VM with ubuntu 32bit with linux-next does not boot

2016-06-30 Thread Chris Valean
We have a patch that was created for 32bit and testing it now it's also
resolving the upstream 32bit boot issue.
Waiting for it to be accepted in upstream, so we should be done with any of the
current bisect work.

[Bug 1597598] Re: a11y-profile-manager-indicator has wrong scale in Ubiquity with HiDPI display.

2016-06-30 Thread Treviño
Mmhmh... I don't think this is the proper solution, since it gets the
scaling for the default display, not for the current one.

IIRC we had a similar issue in unity that was fixed by passing
GTK_ICON_LOOKUP_FORCE_SIZE as flag to gtk_icon_theme_lookup_by_gicon.
Can you try that?

Well, here's the thing, there's not a good answer, afaict. Debian (and
16.10) have changed the order around. Maybe that would be the principle
of least surprise. But then we'll immediately get complaints from the
nginx crowd that installing 'php' pulls in apache2 by default (simple
workaround there, just like here, is to specify 'php php-fpm' during
installation and use nginx with FPM).

I'm not sure how many applications the change of default affects. I was
trying to focus on getting known bugfixes through, and changing the
packaging in a release version of Ubuntu was riskier than I could
justify immediately. In particular, I need to think about what might
break (I don't think anything) for those people already running 16.04.
Beause what might happen if we change the order is that upgraders and
fresh installers will have different configurations and that will result
in its own set of bugs.

[Bug 1597895] Re: i915 crashes, lightdm unresponsive and VT switching impossible

2016-06-30 Thread Joseph Salisbury
Did this issue start happening after an update/upgrade? Was there a
prior kernel version where you were not having this particular problem?

Would it be possible for you to test the latest upstream kernel? Refer
to https://wiki.ubuntu.com/KernelMainlineBuilds . Please test the latest
v4.7 kernel[0].

If this bug is fixed in the mainline kernel, please add the following
tag 'kernel-fixed-upstream'.

If the mainline kernel does not fix this bug, please add the tag:
'kernel-bug-exists-upstream'.

Once testing of the upstream kernel is complete, please mark this bug as
"Confirmed".

Thanks in advance.
