I am asking because the same bug exists on Haswell in Arch Linux with

The real issue was that an efi partition was not being created.  I did manual 
partitioning without carefully understanding UEFI boot.   This link proved to

I am fairly sure that I have seen this for a long time. I started with
15.04, then tried 15.10 and when it still persisted in 16.04 started
looking at bug reports.

Would it be a valid test for me to try various Live CDs to see if this

The bug does not appear with a TWM session nor with a LXDE session. Thus
I think that we can safely conclude that this is in fact not a kernel
bug.

In my case it occurs only with gnome-shell.

The init script does `squid -k parse' at least 5 times, and when you have a big 
ACLs it can take more than a minute to start Squid.
It will be good to cache results of first run of the command.

Could this bug be related to the script that's linked where it says:

   "or copy and paste these statements into a SQL console." ?

Might be unrelated, but if someone's trying to solve this, take a

I'm still on 14.04 and will upgrade to 16.04 when the offer arrives.
I still purge older kernel manually via terminal since they don't get removed 
automatically.
@pxtl I'd recommend to open a new bug with a hint to this one.
