[Bug 1642159] [NEW] Remove lightdm-webkit-greeter And Replace It With A New lightdm-webkit2-greeter Package
Public bug reported: Release to remove it from: Zesty Remove both the source package and all binary packages?: Yes Package rdepends: None Rationale: lightdm-webkit-greeter uses the old webkitgtk (webkit 1) api which is currently in the process of being removed from the archive[1]. The greeter's code was updated two years ago to use the new webkit2gtk (webkit2) api. Since then it has been, and continues to be, actively developed under the name lightdm-webkit2-greeter[2]. [Bug 1638769] Re: Need more information from account manager
At the moment, we don't properly handle the case when new providers are installed on the system: the client will continue seeing the old provider's list. You can file a bug for that, but I don't think this is a critical issue. The client retrieve the provider list (along with the existing accounts list) when the Manager gets initialized, and we assume that this list doesn't change. The RequestAccess() method and the AccountChanged signal only carry the serviceId field, which can then be used to look up the provider information in the provider list (which also contains the serviceId). Give that the you might have several accounts for the same provider, we are not replicating the provider information for each account. However, this should not be a concern of the client, since the client library already tooks care of resolving the mapping (if it doesn't, please file a bug). To quickly test the new API, you can get the Account Tester app from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Process/Merges/TestPlan/ubuntu-system-settings- online-accounts (version 0.15, it's the one linked in the "provider- data" test case). for testing with gdbus, remember that you need to pass the applicationId as parameter to the GetAccounts call (you can omit it, if you are a confined app). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1638769 Title: Need more information from account manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/webapps-sprint/+bug/1638769/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1642123] [NEW] Dual Monitor, one monitor (random?) doesn't power up after lock.
Public bug reported: If I switch to a different virtual terminal, and then back to F7, it powers back up. I have a laptop, and an Acer Monitor connected via HDMI. Randomly (not always), one (never both) of the displays powers back up.. Note: The monitor does attempt to search for connected devices it seems (cycles through it's sources), but seems to find none? But I guess does get poked when powering on? Looking at Xorg.0.log and dmesg don't really seem to give any hint about it.. and it's only ever happened when I upgraded to Ubuntu 16.10, from 16.04 (64bit).. Any help would be greatly appreciated! [Bug 1642122] [NEW] Screen flashes when "flash" is disabled
Public bug reported: When using the camera app the screen flashes bright white - this was implemented for illuminating your face when using the camera pointing towards you https://bugs.launchpad.net/camera-app/+bug/1124574 However, when using the camera pointing away from you, and when using the camera with "flash" disabled, the screen still flashes bright white. This has caused a museum I visited that has a ban on flash photography to think I was still using flash even though it was specifically disabled - the screen flash was bright enough to be "disturbing" what they didn't want exposed to bright light, or at least catch enough attention to be confused with having the flash on. ** Affects: camera-app (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1642122 Title: Screen flashes when "flash" is disabled To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/camera-app/+bug/1642122/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1641152] Re: Scrambled UI: Text in the Unity windows disappears/mixed after the resume from the screen idle state
Yes, this issue has started after the update and was not occurred after I upgraded from 14.04 to 16.04 until some of the latest updates, though it might be pre-last kernel update. It seems, this issue occurs since the latest version(s) of the 4.4.0-47 kernel, definitely in 4.4.0-47.68 and might be in 4.4.0-47.50 but I'm not 100% about that. --- I tested with the v4.9-rc5 kernel, but it does not support my WiFi network card, so the test was very fast (I can't work without WiFi). The issue has not been reproduced, but it is not always reproducable even on 4.4.0-47.68. So it is not known whether the issue exists in the latest kernel and that is why I've not assigned any tag (kernel-bug-exists-upstream / kernel-fixed-upstream). However, another issues discovered on v4.9-rc5: 1. A laptop does not [always] go to the sleep (susbend) mode on lid closing when the external monitor is plugged, instead the all desktop windows are relocated to the external monitor. 2. When the external monitor is plugged off, the windows are NOT relocated to the laptop display, becoming totally unreachable. --- Peculiarities about the Scrambled UI issue on 4.4.0-47[.68]: all windows of native apps are affected, but not the Java windows (Chrome browser and Libre Office UIs work fine). By the way, besides the Scrambled UI there are a few more issues in the 4.4.0-47[.68]: 1. WiFi network connectivity disappeared (might be when is not used for some time), but the icon (near the time on the top right corner of the destop) shows the connection having fine signal strength. The connectivity restarts when I click on the currently connected network. 2. Sometimes the connectivity disappears totally and the icon clearly shows it. Then I have to restart the network manager service. Particularly this issue seems to be present since I upgraded from 14.04 (since the 4.4.0-43.63 kernel). 3. Often the touchpad stops work at all (for example now) though "xserver-xorg-input-synaptics is already the newest version (1.8.2-1ubuntu3)". This issue also exists since I upgraded from 14.04. The touchpad works fine on v4.9-rc5, though the test was very fast and I'm not sure that this issue is really fixed. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1641152 Title: Scrambled UI: Text in the Unity windows disappears/mixed after the resume from the screen idle state To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/1641152/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1631553] Re: With UFW enabled, kernel reports SYN flooding
Thanks for the help, but adding the nf_conntrack_sane module didn't help. Adding it and adding ufw allow rules for some packets that were being reported as dropped didn't help. [Bug 1642093] [NEW] package-data-downloader will reprocess successful downloads
Public bug reported: The fix for bug 1621629 was incorrect in that it will try to process every download again in the event that there is one failed hook file. This is illustrated by the new test test_only_retry_failure test in test_package-data-downloader.py. This was fixed during the development of yakkety, but xenial is still affected by this bug e.g. == FAIL: test_only_retry_failure (test_package-data-downloader.ProcessDownloadRequestsTestCase) -- Traceback (most recent call last): File "/home/bdmurray/source-trees/update-notifier/update-notifier-3.168.2/tests/test_package-data-downloader.py", line 186, in test_only_retry_failure self.assertEqual(new_stamp_date, orig_stamp_date) AssertionError: 1479256982.3473485 != 1479256982.3033488 The fix which was added in r891 of the bzr branch should be SRU'ed to Ubuntu 16.04. ** Affects: update-notifier (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Invalid ** Summary changed: - package-data-downloader will reprocess success downloads + package-data-downloader will reprocess successful downloads ** Changed in: update-notifier (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1642093 Title: package-data-downloader will reprocess successful downloads To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/update-notifier/+bug/1642093/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1642072] Re: lxd uses zfs for images, not containers
For the simple reason that it is encrypted and requires a password to be entered. Under Ubuntu 14.04 it was easy to have an early ssh agent running while the system still was in the initrd, but with 16.04 systemd such things became difficult. On my desktop systems, systemd is not even able to properly ask for a password for luks disks. I therefore have a plain ubuntu server on an SSD with as little information as possible, and then keep as much as possible in lxc and lxd containers on an encrypted zfs array. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1642072 Title: lxd uses zfs for images, not containers To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxd/+bug/1642072/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
