[Bug 1578745] Re: Update firmware for Raspberry Pi 3 support

2017-01-29 Thread Andreas Hösl
The lastest version (1.20161020-0ubuntu1~0.2~rpi3) of firmware-linux-
raspi2 from ppa:ubuntu-raspi2/ppa-rpi3 is breaking the WiFi on Raspi3.
The file /lib/firmware/brcm/brcmfmac43430-sdio.txt is missing after the
upgrade.

The Image from https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ARM/RaspberryPi contains the

[Bug 1660181] [NEW] Have to fetch users before getting groups and vice versa

2017-01-29 Thread David Hewitt
Public bug reported:

Tried to use oobs_groups_config_get_groups () to get the list of groups
available on the system and no groups were returned.

Calling oobs_users_config_get_users () on its own also returns no users.

get_groups has to be called before get_users works and get_users has to
be called before get_groups works.

I suspect this is because of line 306 in oobs-groupsconfig.c being the
following:
oobs_object_ensure_update (oobs_users_config_get ());

Should that not be the following?
oobs_object_ensure_update (oobs_groups_config_get ());

Line 428 in oobs-usersconfig.c is the reversed version of the same line.

[Bug 1627239] Re: Web pages not rendering with e10s enabled and AppArmor profile in enforce mode

2017-01-29 Thread MK
The patch of @Thomas Mayer only applies cleanly to LTS 16.04, while I
run 14.04.

@Sami Jaktholm:
I had to add another line to your proposal in comment #3 in
/etc/apparmor.d/local/usr.bin.firefox to get it running:

  /dev/shm/org.chromium.* rw,
  /run/shm/org.chromium.* rw,

Not only "/dev" but also "/run" seems to be necessary for 14.04.

[Bug 1660173] [NEW] python-magnum doesn't include templates on Ubuntu 16.04

2017-01-29 Thread Connor Catlett
Public bug reported:

The latest version of python-magnum on Xenial doesn't include the
template files in any of the `/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-
packages/magnum/drivers/*/templates/` directories. This makes it
impossible to launch anything with magnum.

It can be worked around temporarily by manually inserting the files, but
that is obviously not an ideal solution.

Also mentioned on Ask Openstack:
https://ask.openstack.org/en/question/101124/magnum-on-ubuntu-1604
-newton-is-missing-kubernetes-templates/

[Bug 735675] Re: bzdiff does not pass -I option to diff

2017-01-29 Thread Ben Hutchings
This patch is broken:

1. $OPTIONS is used (unquoted) in 4 different places but this patch only
updates one of them
2. Quoting $OPTIONS prevents use of multiple options

Unfortunately I don't see a reasonable way to fix this while using only
POSIX shell features.

- If bzdiff is changed to use bash then the options can be accumulated into an
array variable. This would be fine in Debian and Ubuntu, but not upstream.
- POSIX allows positional arguments to be used in an array-like way, but we
already use them for the filenames.
- This could be done by escaping, quoting and concatenating the options and
then using eval to expand to multiple arguments. But this is not what I would
consider reasonable!

[Bug 1540110] Re: gnome-disk-utility (shown as "Disks") shows SMART option grayed for USB connect disks despite being available.

2017-01-29 Thread Turbo Nene
Maybe it is due to the fact (https://www.smartmontools.org/wiki
/Supported_USB-Devices) that USB connected disks usually need a '-d'
option to enable S.M.A.R.T. support.

In fact, for the same disk, trying first:

  $ sudo smartctl -d scsi -H -i -A -l error -l selftest '/dev/sdb'

gives "SMART support is: Unavailable - device lacks SMART capability.",
whereas:

  $ sudo smartctl -d scsi -d sat -H -i -A -l error -l selftest
'/dev/sdb'

gives "SMART support is: Available - device has SMART capability.//SMART
support is: Enabled", and the full output expected.

And also in GSmartControl I have to add the "-d sat" option to
Preferences/Drives to enable S.M.A.R.T. support and view attributes.

The difficulty to include this in gnome-disk-utility is that each disk
needs a different "-d" option...

  fstrim: cannot open /dev/.lxd-mounts: Permission denied
  fstrim: /dev/fuse: not a directory
  fstrim: /dev/lxd: FITRIM ioctl failed: Operation not permitted

  There is a github issue:

  https://github.com/lxc/lxd/issues/2030

  The outcome is that it's purely an fstrim misbehaviour, it could be
  smarter.

  Stephane Graber comment:

  As all of this is handled by the kernel, there isn't anything we can do
  about it in LXD.

  I think fstrim should be made slightly more clever:

  * Don't run on bind-mounts (you can detect bind-mounts by parsing
/proc/self/mountinfo instead of /proc/mounts)
  * Maybe not be as noisy on expected errors like EACCES, EPERM and ENOENT,
only log actual failures which would likely be EINVAL or memory related errors.

[Bug 1656967] Re: missing package dependencies

2017-01-29 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1654976 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1654976

Thanks for reporting.

In addition to those you mention, I also found that python-gi was
required (you may have had this already installed?). Both this bug
report and bug 1654976 are both due to the incomplete list of
dependencies and since they will be resolved by adding all required
dependencies I've taken the liberty of marking this as a duplicate.

[Bug 1654976] Re: Crashes

2017-01-29 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Thanks for reporting.

I've looked a bit into this issue alongside bug 1656967. The crash is due to
missing dependencies, and as a workaround it can be resolved by installing the
following packages:
python-cairo python-gi python-gtk2

These packages are required to run gpxviewer, but since they aren't marked as
dependencies at the moment they aren't installed unless you have already done
so.
I've created a patch for this issue which I've forwarded to Debian (will attach
a bug watch shortly)

[Bug 1659448] Re: grub fails to install bootloader for zesty LVM with Encryption

2017-01-29 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
It appears to be because since November, we changed partman to create
LVM installs without a separate /boot. Unfortunately, /boot is still
required for LVM+crypto, as grub2 by itself can't load cryptodisks
(unless the option is enabled, that is), and doing so would make it
necessary to unlock the cryptodisk twice -- once for grub, and another
time for the kernel.

For now, let's just make sure crypto still uses a /boot partition.

2017-01-29 Thread Christoph Rieder
Public bug reported:

Hi,

It seems QBS can't build projects referencing to Qt.core in Ubuntu

Steps to reproduce:
- Install QBS and Qt creator
- In Qt creator, create a QBS projects ("Non-Qt-Project/Plain C++ Application")
- In the .qbs file, add the line Depends{name: "Qt.core"} inside the
CppApplication item
- Build

Expected result:
The project builds without errors

Actual result:

file tag cpp. Expected is exactly one.

Note:
A similar bug was reported and fixed for debian:

[Bug 1649203] Re: ttf-mscorefonts-installer always complains about cannot download data because http is not support by libcurl?

2017-01-29 Thread Nathanaël Naeri
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 1651923 ***
https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1651923

Did you upgrade apt-transport-https? The fix is in this binary package,
not in the apt binary package (both being compiled from the same source
package named apt, yes it is confusing). See bug 1651923 comments 39 to
45.

[Bug 1349740] Re: acpi PNP0A08:00: _OSC failed (AE_ERROR); disabling ASPM

2017-01-29 Thread Colin Ian King
@Musbach:

decode_osc_support(root, "OS supports", support);
status = acpi_pci_osc_support(root, support);
if (ACPI_FAILURE(status)) {
dev_info(>dev, "_OSC failed (%s); disabling ASPM\n",
 acpi_format_exception(status));
*no_aspm = 1;
return;
}

Please explain how this is a kernel bug when it is a firmware issue and
I'll be happy to figure out a fix.

[Bug 1421075] Re: Typo with dynamically removing port forward in ssh

2017-01-29 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Thanks for taking your time to report this issue and help making Ubuntu
better.

I can confirm that this typo is still present in openssh 1:7.4p1-6 on
Ubuntu Zesty, more specifically in the file clientloop.c. It looks like
this issue isn't introduced by packaging in Debian/Ubuntu, but seems to
be in openssh itself. I wonder if a fix should be forwarded there.

[Bug 1660152] [NEW] Doesn't start when roundcube-auth jail enabled

2017-01-29 Thread Neil Smith
Public bug reported:

Misconfiguration in /etc/fail2ban/jail.conf means that the jail for
'roundcube' will not run.

The error is the repeated 'logpath =' as per below:

port = http,https
logpath  = logpath = %(roundcube_errors_log)s

If the line becomes:

[Bug 1660147] [NEW] video playback overlayed in wrong window

2017-01-29 Thread Joe
Public bug reported:

Steps involved:
Playing video on a bbc.co.uk/news article, dragged that tab off to create a new
window while the video was playing.

Result:
A new window, scrollable, with no video where the player should be, the video
is still playing on the other window, the video player can be interacted with
on the original window, playback is possible, the video scrolls with the new
window's tab (the bbc page) not with the original window (the mozilla wiki, as
shown in attached screenshot).

Solution: Refreshed new window

Reproducible?: Yes, dragging the refreshed tab to the other browser
leaves the video behind again.

/var/lib/systemd/timers/stamp-snapd.refresh.timer is still left behind.
It seems too petty to reopen the bug report just for that, though.

The bug is still present in 16.04.1 LTS. The BIOS settings don't
influence the behavior: ASPM on or off. It is a bug in the kernel.

[Bug 875676] Re: Backing up fails with 'IOError CRC check failed'.

2017-01-29 Thread Niklas Sombert
I think I've got the same problem.

DejaDup with Ubuntu 16.04 prints the same error message and even
duplicity can't do anything in the backup folder. ("remove-older-than"
fails with "(, IOError('CRC check failed
0xb1276c7b != 0x9b944aa5L',), )".)

If I delete or move duplicity-new-
signatures.20160922T090645Z.to.20160929T083644Z.sigtar.gz, it might work
again.

But this is really not good.

[Bug 1581897] Re: kcm_kscreen.desktop file does not exist

2017-01-29 Thread john safix
I was able to access the display settings by reseting the KDE configuration.
1) Remove (don't forget to backup) folders ~/.kde, ~/.local and ~/.config .
Removing all of them is necessary :-(
2) Reboot (log out is not enough)
3) Start the display setting :-)
4) Copy configurations of selected apps back to the new folders.

[Bug 1660125] [NEW] package redmine 3.2.1-2 failed install

2017-01-29 Thread VALMIR Christophe
Public bug reported:

I just installed a redmine server under ubuntu 16.04 LTS

The "ruby-mysql2" package does not install immediately when installing the
"redmine" package.
To get around the problem, install "ruby-mysql2" to finish installing redmine.

Can you correct it is quick ? It is a simple added constraint.

king regards, christophe
