[Bug 1693756] Re: [Xenial][ DW5816e] to support qmi over mbim which needed for FCC authentication.

2017-06-25 Thread Alex Tu
Hi Sebastien,
Thanks for your review, there are some reasons to take the bumping version
patch.

1. to verify which patches in libqmi is needed , it need a known worked
modemmanager and libmbim (yakkety version) help, and there are version
check both in configure and build dependency.

2. looks the bumping version action was took by upstream when a big
change like this qmi-over-mbim. So, people might expect qmi-over-mbim
should not be there before such version. So, I was confused about should
I keep the bumped version there to keep this expectation synced.

All patches were picked up by git bisect method in the environment setting of
point 1, then install all backported packages together for a sanity check in
final.
And the decision to keep the version bumping was made based on point 2.

In another side about why not just take whole new version:
by roughly diff of libqmi,
changed no. of lines of backport patches to xenial libqmi-glib1-1.12.6-1
1791

changed no. of lines of xenial libqmi-glib1-1.12.6-1 to yakkety libqmi 1.16.0-1
142332

And just taking new version would introduce more changes in libmbim and
modemmanager which not related to qmi-over-mbim for DW5816 by just take
yakkety libqmi 1.16.0-1.

So, the idea is fewer changes might have higher SRU possibility.

You're correct that the bug in that link is different. However, the
identical issue has been replicated by me and several office mates in
nautalis, chromium and firefox running independently installed and
configured versions of ubuntu gnome 16.04.2. Re add chromium here?

[Bug 1580168] Re: Tab descriptions are unreadable, black text on black background

2017-06-25 Thread Justin
Also, do you want screen shots/video of the problem? A perhaps more
detailed description of the problem is that sometimes when you get
mouseover text, at least in gnome, there appers to be a large indent
before the text blocking all or part of it from being displayed. If you
mouse off and mouse back on getting the mouseover text again, the issue
temporarily goes away.

[Bug 1454450] Re: Bluetooth mouse laggy and erratic

2017-06-25 Thread Daniel van Vugt
As far as I know, the lag generally happens using bluetooth scanning
(searching). Although scanning should be less disruptive than it is,
this seems to be a problem that persists even in current Bluez releases.

You might want to try running 'bluetoothctl' and then typing 'scan off'.

We were unable to fully test these patches as according to Nvidia we also need
https://patchwork.ozlabs.org/patch/722701/ for ATS to work in their driver.

Do we need to raise a separate bugzilla for that or can this be included

[Bug 1687246] Re: GNOME Shell should support fractional (non-integer) Hi-DPI scaling

2017-06-25 Thread Daniel van Vugt
No, I think bug 1687245 might be a slightly different issue. And even if
it was the same issue as this one, this bug has more details so should
remain the primary bug for fractional scaling. But again, it's possible
the lock screen scaling is a different problem.

Can we PLEASE get this bug -- which renders systems UNBOOTABLE after

[Bug 456359] Re: [needs-packaging] Create package: Ultimate++

2017-06-25 Thread Ped
There's this PPA for few years providing Ubuntu (nightly) builds:

https://launchpad.net/~dolik-rce/+archive/ubuntu/upp

The owner of the PPA did quite some work to make the packaging process a
bit closer to other SW, but still an review from experienced packager to
check quality of packaging and build processes would be welcome for sure
(if feedback is posted at U++ forum, the developers will try to improve
what is possible). (but take into consideration this is whole stand-
alone C++ framework + GUI library with it's own perks like custom build
system, so the building+packaging process may look a bit complex at
first)

[Bug 1700418] [NEW] Plugin not found (type=0, name=RDP), but remmina-plugin-rdp is installed

2017-06-25 Thread Norbert
Public bug reported:

Steps to reproduce:
1. Upgrade Ubuntu 12.04 to 14.04, then to 16.04
2. Install remmina (sudo apt-get install remmina-plugin-rdp remmina-plugin-vnc
remmina-plugin-nx remmina-plugin-xdmcp)
3. Try to connect to RDP

Expected results:
* remmina on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is able to connect to RDP server.

Actual results:
* remmina on Ubuntu 16.04 LTS is unable to connect to RDP server.
It reports the following errors in terminal:
$ remmina
NX: detected keyboard type pc105/us
Remmina plugin NX (type=Protocol) registered.
Failed to load plugin:
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/remmina/plugins/remmina-plugin-rdp.so.
Error: libavcodec.so.53: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
Remmina plugin XDMCP (type=Protocol) registered.
Remmina plugin VNC (type=Protocol) registered.
Remmina plugin VNCI (type=Protocol) registered.
Remmina plugin SFTP (type=Protocol) registered.

Plugin not found (type=0, name=RDP)
Plugin not found (type=0, name=RDP)
Plugin not found (type=0, name=RDP)
Plugin not found (type=0, name=RDP)

So it complains about missed libavcodec.so.53, which does not packaged
for xenial (why?).

Notes:
$ ldd /usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/remmina/plugins/remmina-plugin-rdp.so | grep not

[Bug 1698547] Re: pasting into gnome-terminal pastes into a different terminal window

2017-06-25 Thread Paul
Yes, it's very rare, only happened to me twice so far since upgrading to
17.04. Unfortunately, I don't know what triggers it.

Never use terminal tabs so I didn't think to test that. Nor
Shift+Insert, although since even clipboard paste is affected, it's
likely that Shift+Insert is too.

This is a fairly stock Ubuntu-Gnome 17.04 on Xorg.

[Bug 1454450] Re: Bluetooth mouse laggy and erratic

2017-06-25 Thread albflo
I experience the same bug on my Thinkpad Yoga 260 with Ubuntu 16.04.2
and 4.11.7 kernel (the issue happened also on older kernels) with my
Thinkpad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard with Trackpoint. The dmesg output
looks like this:

[ 4952.521400] lenovo 0005:17EF:6048.0017: unknown main item tag 0x0
[ 4952.521703] input: ThinkPad Compact Bluetooth Keyboard with TrackPoint as

Would be perfect if someone has a solution, it's a very annoying bug.

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make

This particular bug has already been reported and is a duplicate of bug

there with some more information about the PPA. If someone would suggest
a patch with the changes needed to package 1.2.0 that would be a great
start to get it included in the official archives. Additionally, any
further discussion regarding the bug should occur in the other report.
Feel free to continue to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 1624699] Re: Upgrade to Remmina 1.2

2017-06-25 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
17.04 has been released now, and artful is the current development
release, so I took the liberty of removing the Ubuntu version from the
title. Also note that this package seems to include some Ubuntu-specific
patches so it might need to be merged when a newer version appears in
Debian (though it doesn't seem that they have upgraded to 1.2 either so
far).

** Summary changed:

- Release Remmina 1.2 on Ubuntu 17.04
+ Upgrade to Remmina 1.2

[Bug 1698547] Re: pasting into gnome-terminal pastes into a different terminal window

2017-06-25 Thread Egmont Koblinger
I haven't seen anything like this...

Do the pastes go to a particular window (the active tab within,
whichever that is), or to a particular terminal tab (even if that's not
the selected tab within its window)?

Is pasting with Shift+insert also buggy?

How hard is it to reproduce? How often does it occur for you?

What desktop environment (e.g. Unity) and graphical system (e.g. X11) do
you use?

[Bug 1699859] Re: After upgrade to libwagon2-java 2.12, maven crashes when attempting to build any project

2017-06-25 Thread Hans Joachim Desserud
Now that maven 3.5 is available in artful, I am no longer able to
reproduce this issue. There might be some interdependencies between
wagon2 and maven, but it seems to have been resolved. If you can verify
that maven works for you as well with the latest upgrades, I believe
this can be marked fix released.

Just take a look at these beautiful things, they are so nice, check
this out http://bit.do/dxhKz

Subject: Looks like Angie Noir

I had to panhandle for a few months in 2008, and I tried my best
to always be cheerful, always joking around, always said thank you,
etc. I'd rather do some real thing, even the ribbons ... the ribbons
in stores are junky and cost like $3 and are probably made overseas.
So the customer is getting a better product that's US-made.

I've never flown a sign. I think some time it would be fun to learn to
letter well, I mean really well, and go out with a bunch of pre-cut pieces
of cardboard and make up some funny signs, and tell people I'll make them a
sign saying whatever they want, and take whatever they feel like paying. You
know, funny stuff like "Unattended children will be given a cappuchino and a
puppy" and "To err is human but to really screw up requires a computer".

What I don't like about being a beggar is, all the long-time ones
get hardened, just seeing people as cash machines. They don't say
thank you. I like a lot better, doing something that's valuable and
people pay me because they think I'm doing a good thing.

Right now I'm torn between doing street music, or learning to do
caricatures. My impression is that there's more money in the
caricatures, but I've done street music and even though I seem to
average only $10 an hour, I get people who are genuinely touched by
the music and will double back to put a tip in the box. People
don't get touched that way by a goofy drawing.

[Bug 1700395] [NEW] brief system non-responsiveness with disk activity

2017-06-25 Thread Jeff Abrahamson
Public bug reported:

Since the upgrade to kernel 4.10.0-24, I'm noticing brief (several
second) system non-responsiveness when disk activity is moderately
intense. The level of intensity required is only, say, rsync'ing a
day's photos from a mini-SD card (/dev/mmcblk0p1) or rsync'ing a
directory from SSD to a server.

The system logs are not showing errors.

[Bug 1610944] Re: GNOME Online Accounts breaks if you log out (until you reboot)

2017-06-25 Thread Jeremy Bicha
** Description changed:

+ Impact
+ ==
+ After logging out, GNOME Online Accounts doesn't work the next time you log
in.
+
+ This bug was a Release Blocker for Fedora 26. (Fedora 26 will be
+ released in July).
+
+ Test Case
+ =
+ From Ubuntu GNOME, click Settings>Online Accounts and add your Google
account. Install Evolution if it's not installed. Verified that your Google
account has synced.
+
+ Log out. Log in. It may help to reproduce the bug log in to a different
+ session (GNOME on Wayland instead of GNOME, or the other way around).
+
+ Open Evolution. Verify that no errors are reported and that your Google
+ account is still syncing.
+
+ After installing the gnome-session update, I recommend rebooting once to
+ clear any old lingering GNOME Online Accounts processes from previous
+ sessions.
+
+ Regression Potential
+
+ This fix is the same as was accepted into Fedora 26. It is a workaround by
killing all the user's D-Bus sessions when the user logs out. This fix has been
backported from gnome-session 3.25.3. It has not been applied to the 3.24 git
branch upstream.
+
+ Since 16.10 has almost reached its end of life (July), I am not
+ proposing this fix there. I believe 16.10 is the first release affected
+ since Ubuntu moved many more services to systemd user sessions in that
+ release.
+
+ The patch tries to only kill the D-Bus sessions if the session being
+ logged out is the final remaining session for the user.
+
+ The workaround makes sense to me. It seems similar to the
+ KillUserProcesses option that was pushed into systemd to fix this kind
+ of problem but it's more limited than the systemd method so hopefully it
+ won't be as controversial.
+
+ Original Bug Report
+ ===
Can't add any online accounts in after opened Online accounts + mark is
faded, can't click.
After reinstalled gnome-online-accounts still has same problem.

  ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 4.4.0-34.53-generic 4.4.15
