It would for the purpose of reporting upstream with it.
IMHO it is more complex than using Artful, but your decision.
Both will work.

[Bug 1715803] [NEW] Genres duplicated display in Genres column

2017-09-07 Thread Erik Sandall
Public bug reported:

ubuntu 16.04
gmusicbrowser 1.1.15~ds0-0ubuntu1

Each song's genre displays twice in the Genre column. If you give a song
more than one genre, each genre is displayed twice.

To replicate:

1. Configure gmusicbrowser to display the Genre column in either Simple List
View or Songtree View;
2. Select a song, right-click, then click "Song Properties";
3. Key in a genre, click the plus (+) symbol, then click the Save button;

The genre will appear twice in the Genre column, separated by a comma.
For example:

Post-Rock, Post-Rock
Hard Bop, Hard Bop, Jazz, Jazz

Thanks for looking!

[Bug 1715722] Re: Allow safe override of GDM3 theme

2017-09-07 Thread Didier Roche
Unassigning for now as I don't know if I'll have time to get that done
for 17.10.

However, I'll take any good patch from system76 implementing that
feature (even better, I really think it should be pushed upstream). The
best implementation IMHO is to not hardcode any css files with
alternatives, but rather a settings for the gdm user pointing to the
system-wide css file to load. Then, distros and OEM can use classic
gsettings override to tweak it.

[Bug 1715521] Re: Video not shown in full in VLC, although shows correctly in YouTube

2017-09-07 Thread el_gallo_azul
Hm. You are right. I watched the same original video using `totem`
application, and it does indeed show my full screen.

It must be something to do with VLC settings, but I've just spent some
time looking through VLC settings, and trying some changes, but I
haven't found what causes a video to appear like this.

This bug report can be closed. Sorry. Now I'll have to find out what's
going on in my VLC settings.

[Bug 1715792] [NEW] GTK file picker dialogue shows too many mount points

2017-09-07 Thread naught101
Public bug reported:

I'm running kubuntu 17.10 beta, and the GTK file picker dialogue (for
all GTK apps - e.g. firefox, thunderbird, GIMP, agave) is listing a
tonne of useless mount points in the left-most panel:

https://i.stack.imgur.com/TrJYy.png

Is there any way to hide these? Other posts suggest adding commands to
/etc/fstab, but none of these mount points are listed in fstab to begin
with..

These entries do not appear in the Qt file picker dialogue.

Thanks. Do you have a timeline for when you will have this decision?
While we have procedures in place for signing/revoking keys whenever
necessary in the event of a key compromise, ordinarily this KEK key is not
available for signing. We have a window when we will be able to do this
signing from September 25 to September 29 and after that we do not have a
window scheduled until next year, so it would be good to know before then
what format you need this signed key matter to be provided in.

[Bug 1715671] Re: top bar not translucent

The translucent top bar is a feature of gnome-shell 3.25, but your bug
report shows your system is still running 3.24. Try just updating your
system. If that doesn't work then you will need to find out why you're
not getting gnome-shell 3.25 already. Perhaps it's something to do with

[Bug 1714410] Re: Can't change display configuration, Method ApplyConfiguration is not implemented on interface org.gnome.Mutter.DisplayConfig

2017-09-07 Thread Rocko
Now the workaround from comment #5 no longer works: if I try to change
my primary screen resolution to 1920x1080, g-c-c says "display-cc-panel-
WARNING **: Config not applicable:
GDBus.Error:org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.InvalidArgs: Scale 2 not valid
for resolution 1920x1080" and I never see an 'Apply' button, no matter
what I change. So I can't change the layout or the resolution.
Everything on the 4K screen is tiny, except for Ubuntu Dock, which is
normal size, and everything on the 1920x1080 monitor is normal size,

memcpy() with a wrong size, leading to a denial of service (application
crash) or possibly code execution.

[Bug 1590807] Re: Snapcraft doesn't store build logs

2017-09-07 Thread Leo Arias
Hey Sebastian,

We are working on recording a manifest of what happened during the
build, like the packages that were installed, and info about the
machine. Is that what you want, or do you want the full output printed
to stdout?

[Bug 1715741] Re: Wi-Fi broken in 16.04.3 and later on Dell Edge 3003

2017-09-07 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1715741/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

[Bug 1715764] [NEW] Flickering Screen

2017-09-07 Thread George Salomon
Public bug reported:

Screen flickers particularly when I use Discord but have also
experienced it with Minecraft. Occasionally have issues with misplaced
pixels in slack and mozilla firefox, but much less frequently with
firefox. Only have experienced pixels being misplayed whilst being on
vox and maybe one or two others I'm forgetting, have not had any issues
when using most websites.

[Bug 1715761] [NEW] My sound system does not work no matter what.

2017-09-07 Thread Joshua Sulentic
Public bug reported:

My computer originally ran Windows 10. I recently put Ubuntu on it,
thinking it would go onto my thumb drive, but it didn't. It has messed
up my login process, but I can still eventually get to Ubuntu. But I
try playing videos and I cannot hear the audio, from YouTube and
advertisements. My computer has been designed to run B Play, but
maybe downloading a new OS screwed it up.

1) Ubuntu 17.04
2) Unknown
3) Play any sound requested

[Bug 1713323] Re: HiDPI support partially broken after upgrade to Gnome 3.25

2017-09-07 Thread Dean Henrichsmeyer
It turns out my title bar issue was because my session had reverted to X
for some reason rather than Wayland. I had to select X and then select
Ubuntu again in order for it to choose and launch Wayland. After that my
desktop is working as expected again.

[Bug 1715758] [NEW] Enable BFQ at build time

2017-09-07 Thread Nazar Mokrynskyi

Since 4.12 BFQ is included in upstream Linux kernel.

[Bug 1715749] [NEW] Intermittent black screen on HP EliteBook 840 G1

2017-09-07 Thread Michael von Glasow
Public bug reported:

Occasionally, the internal laptop display goes black for a few seconds,
then comes back to life. The external display stays on. It looks as if
power management were kicking in by error but affecting only the
internal display.

When I’m working with the external display, I need to move the mouse
into the area managed by the internal display to wake it up again; else
it seems to remain black (though I haven’t tested that behavior
thoroughly).

Most tests with the external display were made with the port replicator
and an external display plugged into one of the DP ports via a DP–DVI
adapter. I cannot tell for sure what the behavior is with the external
display plugged directly into the laptop.

The hard disk was originally installed with Ubuntu MATE 14.10 in a HP
EliteBook 6930p, upgraded to 15.04, 15.10 and eventually 16.04 and
finally moved to the EliteBook 840 G1.

[Bug 1714046] Re: papy2

2017-09-07 Thread Emily Ratliff
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description
didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read 'How
to report bugs effectively'
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.
We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1.
the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually
encountered (in as much detail as possible). Thanks!

[Bug 1715746] [NEW] Cannot shutdown or restart from user session with nvidia drivers via nvidia-prime installed

2017-09-07 Thread Doug McMahon
Public bug reported:

Fresh install of 09/07 image on Lenovo y510p laptop GK107M [GeForce GT 755M]
nvidia-375 drivers installed, tested.
Then fully updated
Absolutely nothing else done..

Note: this occurred both before & after the gdm3 update.

What happens:
Attempting to restart from either the gui or in terminal leads to a black
screen with blinking cursor. Waiting does nothing.
Going to tty1 shows wall of text, cursor just blinks there also.

However if I go to tty7 then the shutdown immediately proceeds &
finishes.

What also works is instead of attempting shutdown normally going to
tty2 & issuing command there.

As A side note this does not occur with lightdm
