[Bug 1715722] Re: Allow safe override of GDM3 theme
Unassigning for now as I don't know if I'll have time to get that done for 17.10. However, I'll take any good patch from system76 implementing that feature (even better, I really think it should be pushed upstream). The best implementation IMHO is to not hardcode any css files with alternatives, but rather a settings for the gdm user pointing to the system-wide css file to load. Then, distros and OEM can use classic gsettings override to tweak it. ** Changed in: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Assignee: Didier Roche (didrocks) => (unassigned) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1715722 Title: Allow safe override of GDM3 theme To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1715722/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage. You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode. To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1715741/+editstatus and add the package name in the text box next to the word Package. [Bug 1715749] [NEW] Intermittent black screen on HP EliteBook 840 G1
Public bug reported: Occasionally, the internal laptop display goes black for a few seconds, then comes back to life. The external display stays on. It looks as if power management were kicking in by error but affecting only the internal display. When I’m working with the external display, I need to move the mouse into the area managed by the internal display to wake it up again; else it seems to remain black (though I haven’t tested that behavior thoroughly). Most tests with the external display were made with the port replicator and an external display plugged into one of the DP ports via a DP–DVI adapter. I cannot tell for sure what the behavior is with the external display plugged directly into the laptop. The hard disk was originally installed with Ubuntu MATE 14.10 in a HP EliteBook 6930p, upgraded to 15.04, 15.10 and eventually 16.04 and finally moved to the EliteBook 840 G1. [Bug 1714046] Re: papy2
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Unfortunately we can't fix it, because your description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful to read 'How to report bugs effectively' http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem. We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures. At a minimum, we need: 1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the problem, 2. the behavior you expected, and 3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible). [Bug 1715746] [NEW] Cannot shutdown or restart from user session with nvidia drivers via nvidia-prime installed
Public bug reported: Fresh install of 09/07 image on Lenovo y510p laptop GK107M [GeForce GT 755M] nvidia-375 drivers installed, tested. Then fully updated Absolutely nothing else done.. Note: this occurred both before & after the gdm3 update. What happens: Attempting to restart from either the gui or in terminal leads to a black screen with blinking cursor. Waiting does nothing. Going to tty1 shows wall of text, cursor just blinks there also. However if I go to tty7 then the shutdown immediately proceeds & finishes. What also works is instead of attempting shutdown normally going to tty2 & issuing command there.
