[Bug 1746372] Re: [Asus K501UQ] Touchpad stops working after suspend
Unfortunately I can't perform steps 4-10 in the suspend debugging guide because the display is not working after waking up when doing pm_trace (it's turned off), and I can't SSH into the system from another computer because the network seems to be down as well (No route to host). [Bug 1747228] Re: [18.04] You need at least 8.4 GB ... This computer has only 0.0 B.
** Description changed: Testing the bionic daily desktop amd64 ISO for 2018-02-02 in a QEMU guest allocated 8GB via an LV, started in EFI mode and using "Try Ubuntu" mode, when Ubiquity was started it reported: You need at least 8.4 GB disk space to install Ubuntu. This computer has only 0.0 B. I checked the LV was correctly connected: cat /sys/block/sda/size 16777216 I then expanded the LV to 16GB and re-ran the exercise and got the same message. cat /sys/block/sda/size 33554432 + + I did some hunting through the source code and discovered that when the + prepare step calls ... + + /bin/parted_devices + + ... nothing is returned. + + I ran strace on that command. + + It turns out if the device is *read-only* nothing is returned. + + Ubiquity really should report something more appropriate. Currently the + 0.0 message is due to the variable 'free' being initialised to 0 and not + being changed because parted_devices doesn't return any data. [Bug 1747158] Re: Translation template for Zenity is outdated
The problem seems to be that POTFILES.in has been outdated, so all the translatable strings up to zenity 3.26.0 have not made it to the translation template. The latest template was created on November 13, 2017, and two weeks later several files were added to POTFILES.in upstream: https://github.com/GNOME/zenity/commit/abcc873c So there seems to be an urgent need that GNOME releases a new version of zenity. @Jeremy: Can you push for that to happen in due time, so zenity can be updated in Debian/Ubuntu in time for 18.04? ** Changed in: zenity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: zenity (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1747158 Title: Translation template for Zenity is outdated To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu-translations/+bug/1747158/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1747226] [NEW] Installation crashes during "Creating user..."
Public bug reported: I have experienced this bug many many times. The laptop I am using is a Lenovo ThinkPad P71. I have removed the SSD from my laptop, shut down, connected an external hard drive, and booted from a USB with Ubuntu 16.04. The installer obviously recognizes the external hard drive as the main storage device. I do this because I want Ubuntu with full disk encryption installed on an external hard drive. When I get to the screen that asks for a username and password for the computer, I input the information. Then I proceed and it loads for about 10 minutes before doing anything. Then the installer proceeds for a while, and in the bottom left it shows what the installer is working on. When it gets to "Creating user..." it crashes 99% of the time. After attempting to install over 10-15 times, it occasionally does NOT crash, and installs correctly at this step. I have no idea why... This bug DOES NOT happen if I do not select encrypt the disk. [Bug 1747201] Re: Some right click menu actions of GNOME Terminal are not translated
I think the reason is that two of the strings have been changed: "Copy" -> "_Copy" "Paste" -> "_Paste" "Copy as _HTML" is new. [Bug 1724250] Re: gnome-terminal graphic artifact
I can reproduce the problem with plenty of other names taken from the Humanity theme, such as "clock" or "gnome-panel-force-quit" instead of gnome-terminal's default "utilities-terminal". The culprit really seems to be gnome-shell/mutter, or some library used by them. So far I could only reproduce the problem with the Humanity icon theme, although I haven't really tried other themes (only Adwaita a bit). It could even be that the icon theme ships something wrong. The problem is present both with the "Ubuntu on Xorg" (Ubuntu flavor of gnome-shell experience) as well as "GNOME on Xorg" (default GNOME experience), provided that I switch the latter using gnome-tweak-tool to use the Humanity icon theme. ** Also affects: gnome-shell (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: mutter (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1724250 Title: gnome-terminal graphic artifact To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1724250/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1512344] Re: [Master Bug] Package nginx-* failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 (due to "Address in Use" issue)
Every time I come here it's a crime (time), something isn't working well. My English (translating from Dutch) isn't not well enough to correspond with you, but the problems I have too are difficult to see over. I tried to set up QEMU/KVM, Virtelbox, e.s.o. and every-time there were some problems and I had to delete it before to start a new one. [Bug 1747199] [NEW] Cannot monitor nor stop/resume automatic deja-dup backup: monitor window absent
Public bug reported: In latest versions of deja dup, there is no window created to monitor the progress of an automated backup. [Bug 1684240] Re: Lagging square around mouse pointer
Confirmed that this should solve the issue. System settings -> Display and Monitor -> Compositor -> Rendering backend: set XRender instead of OpenGL.
