[Bug 1791010] Re: 128 bit float precision breaks mysql self-tests (stalls cosmic updates)
Your upload seems to build fine on all architectures and checking ppc64 in particular the tests that formerly failed are good now. The servers were restarted 167 times Spent 1178.435 of 482 seconds executing testcases Completed: All 768 tests were successful. 157 tests were skipped, 59 by the test itself. That said I thought this looks good and you could go on coordinating with rbasak and tsimonq (who synced the last version) for the upload into cosmic that should finally unblock it from proposed migration. But I realized that the build log in the PPA still has: Depends: [...] libmecab2 which should also be removed for 18.10 as the security review isn't complete and we have a component mismatch at the moment (the synced version currently in cosmic-proposed blocks on the lack of mecab in main). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1791010 Title: 128 bit float precision breaks mysql self-tests (stalls cosmic updates) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mysql-5.7/+bug/1791010/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1791716] Re: FFe: sync java packages from Debian to fix OpenJDK 10/11 issues in Cosmic
I have dropped from the package list a number of packages which are not present in either cosmic or cosmic-proposed, and therefore don't need to be considered as part of this FFe. ** Description changed: Asking for a FFe exception to keep in sync (or merging) with Java packages as uploaded to Debian, until the 18.10 release. As outlined in https://lists.ubuntu.com/archives/ubuntu- release/2018-March/004359.html we are planning to update to the next so called OpenJDK LTS version, which is to be released in September/October 2018. Java 10 and Java 11 support will likely require new upstream versions, and it's probably not feasible to backport compatibility patches for ~1300 source packages. However the impact on the archive is somehow limited as the java universe is much self contained (packages only build indep packages related to Java). To give an idea about which packages may need an update, please see https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?email=pkg-java- maintainers%40lists.alioth.debian.org That's the majority of packages, however there maybe be pure java packages maintained by other people as well. The package list as of 20181009 is listed at the bottom. Care should be taken for packages which build java unrelated binary packages, and only provide java bindings, as an update to a new version might have more impact on other packages. [Bug 1791981] Re: X Server session crash for "No space left on device"
"No space left on device" usually means your disk is full, so check that. It can also mean that the process (X server or shell) has just leaked and exhausted some particular resource. Since it's a crash we require a stack trace to identify it properly, since it's likely other people are reporting the same. To help us find the cause of the crash please follow these steps: 1. Look in /var/crash for crash files and if found run: ubuntu-bug YOURFILE.crash Then tell us the ID of the newly-created bug. 2. If step 1 failed then look at https://errors.ubuntu.com/user/ID where ID is the content of file /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie-id on the machine. Do you find any links to recent problems on that page? If so then please send the links to us. 3. If step 2 also failed then apply the workaround from bug 994921, reboot, reproduce the crash, and retry step 1. Please take care to avoid attaching .crash files to bugs as we are unable to process them as file attachments. It would also be a security risk for yourself. ** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu) Status: New => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1791981 Title: X Server session crash for "No space left on device" To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1791981/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Our custom search engines reappearing between search engine cache rebuilds is not a new issue, but it's being made worse by a new bug (https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1489820) which is causing a cache rebuild to happen on every restart rather than after app upgrades (and is also responsible for making some en-US search engines appear for non en-US users). [Bug 1771662] Re: [bionic] libvirtError: Node device not found: no node device with matching name
I tracked down why libvirt generates the message "internal error: The PF device for VF XXX has no network device name" on startup when built in bionic, but not in xenial. When populating device capabilities, we see: virNetDevGetFeatures(): virNetDevSwitchdevFeature(): virNetDevGetPhysicalFunction() However, virNetDevSwitchdevFeature() is stubbed out at build time unless HAVE_DECL_DEVLINK_CMD_ESWITCH_GET is defined. In bionic, this is defined in /usr/include/linux/devlink.h, which didn't exist in xenial. Since all of our OpenStack/arm64 testing on bionic is blocked because our test systems all happen to be impacted by https://bugs.linaro.org/show_bug.cgi?id=3778 , I'm wondering if there's some kind of temporary hack we can carry to detect these devices, disable some set of (currently broken) features, and allow our testing to proceed until this problem is addressed upstream. My understanding is that our testing succeeds with xenial, but fails with bionic, while the source version of libvirt remains constant. I therefore wonder if virNetDevSwitchdevFeature() is the (only) thing causing this to escalate to nova failure. In that case, could we e.g. compare vendor/device ids, and add a hack to return 0 if they match? I've pushed a libvirt build to ppa:dannf/test with such a hack, if someone w/ a full arm64 openstack setup can try it to see if it would be able to unblock us. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1771662 Title: [bionic] libvirtError: Node device not found: no node device with matching name To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/charm-nova-compute/+bug/1771662/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1788727] Re: upgrade crashing due to unsigned kernels
Jim, I only know the GUI way of doing it. I select all of the kernels above 4.15.xx and select remove, but only once I have booted up with the older kernel (once the GRUB menu appears, go into Advanced options and look for 4.15 and boot off of that, just don't select "(recovery mode)"), type "apt autoremove", but since you probably don't use the terminal logged in as root in it, type in "sudo apt autoremove" and it should automatically start configuring the packages that were not configured previously, a.k.a. the GRUB updates, open UKUU, install the latest available kernel, restart and enjoy! Do note that I am using an HP laptop and that a previous GRUB update (a few months ago) enrolled new Secure Boot keys, which might affect the fact that I'm booting with unsigned kernels and Secure Boot on. Good luck and have a nice day! -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1788727 Title: upgrade crashing due to unsigned kernels To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1788727/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1279558]
1. All links provided in comment 5 consistently confirm that a dot is used as a grouping (thousands) separator in it_IT, also a comma is used as a decimal (fraction) separator. Also CLDR which we usually treat as an authoritative source confirms the same. Currently it_IT provides the same except (as the original reporter noticed) that it does not provide any grouping separator for LC_NUMERIC. Therefore I'm going to add a dot as a grouping separator in LC_NUMERIC in it_IT even if this differs from the original request. Note that the same values are currently in LC_MONETARY in it_IT. 2. But CLDR also confirms that a similar mark as the original reporter suggests is used in it_CH (Italian language as used in Switzerland). Currently an ASCII apostrophe is used in glibc but CLDR says it should be a character (Right Single Quotation Mark, "’"). It is correctly transliterated to an ASCII apostrophe while building non- Unicode locales. Therefore I'm going to use the character as a grouping separator in LC_NUMERIC in it_CH. 3. But all LC_NUMERIC and LC_MONETARY sections in all Swiss locales (including LC_MONETARY in it_CH) contain just “copy "de_CH"”. So maybe LC_NUMERIC should also contain “copy "de_CH"”? True, de_CH uses an ASCII apostrophe as a grouping separator while CLDR says it should be . Also, CLDR says that a decimal separator for both it_CH and de_CH should be a dot. In glibc it is correctly set in all Swiss locales except it_CH. Shortly: all Swiss locales should use an apostrophe (or better the Right Single Quotation Mark) as a grouping (thousands) separator and a dot as a decimal (fraction) separator. Therefore instead of what I said in point 2. I am going to use “copy "de_CH"” in LC_NUMERIC section of it_CH and I'm going to update de_CH to use as a thousands separator in both LC_NUMERIC and LC_MONETARY. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1279558 Title: Italian (it_IT) locale has empty thousands_sep To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/glibc/+bug/1279558/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
