[Bug 1764450] Re: [needs-packaging] pdftk missing in 18.04 (bionic) and later releases
Is it possible to backport the fixed version (pdftk-java) to Bionic? If people are on the LTS release, having it available in Cosmic or Disco does not really help. [Bug 1826939] [NEW] Network restart after suspend is unreliable
Public bug reported: After suspending my computer to standby and then waking it up again, networking restarts unreliably: Sometimes it restarts fine, sometimes it takes a few seconds to restart, and sometimes it takes more than a minute (I didn't wait longer). When the network wakeup is not finished, pings to my local router get a timeout, and "sudo service networking restart" creates this output: klee@gonzales:~$ ping router PING router (192.168.100.254) 56(84) bytes of data. >From gonzales (192.168.100.2) icmp_seq=1 Destination Host Unreachable ^C --- router ping statistics --- 1 packets transmitted, 0 received, +1 errors, 100% packet loss, time 0ms klee@gonzales:~$ sudo service networking status ● networking.service - Raise network interfaces Loaded: loaded (/lib/systemd/system/networking.service; enabled; vendor preset: enabled) Active: active (exited) since Mon 2019-04-29 11:16:05 CEST; 12h ago Docs: man:interfaces(5) Main PID: 1239 (code=exited, status=0/SUCCESS) Tasks: 0 (limit: 4915) Memory: 0B CGroup: /system.slice/networking.service Apr 29 11:15:58 gonzales systemd[1]: Starting Raise network interfaces... [Bug 1577575] Re: NFS share does not mount on boot using fstab
Same issue here. NFS fails to mount at boot, but logging in and issuing a manual "mount -a" resolves until the next reboot. It should also be noted that there's a significant delay on boot with nfs entries in fstab - need to time it, but ~1 minute. Why issues with something as old/stable/boring as NFS? ** Also affects: nfs-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1577575 Title: NFS share does not mount on boot using fstab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nfs-utils/+bug/1577575/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 398687] Re: Gnome shutdown dialog timeout cannot be adjusted
> The timeout is there mainly for people who select the action, > and then forget to confirm the action and walk away. The timeout as a feature has an extremely bad ratio of befuddleness vs. usefulness to the user. When a feature is only marginally useful, and yet it is bound to confuse people every time they see it, then the feature needs to be either redesigned or left out. I would not mind at all seeing it left out, but if you want some suggestion as to how it could be improved, here: a) Move the text below the buttons, make it tiny so that it looks like a footnote, and change it to "if you do nothing the machine will shut down in X seconds". This way, the text makes sense. As it is now, it doesn't. b) Make the number of seconds auto-refresh to show the actual number of seconds remaining. As it stands now, the user is under the impression that the countdown is not counting (part of the befudleness I mentioned earlier) so 59 seconds later the dialog will still read "shutdown in 60 seconds" and then poof -- it shuts down in your face. That's terrible as far as user experience is concerned. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/398687 Title: Gnome shutdown dialog timeout cannot be adjusted To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-session/+bug/398687/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1826930] [NEW] fakechroot skips jemalloc tests
Public bug reported: [impact] fakechroot has (build-time) tests for jemalloc, but unconditionally skips them all due to an old jemalloc bug that has been fixed. [test case] build fakechroot and check the logs for: t/jemalloc.t skipped: jemalloc library is missing (sudo apt-get install libjemalloc1) [regression potential] this only reintroduces tests run during build. [Bug 1826883] Re: libjemalloc2 hangs when used with fakechroot in some cases
** Description changed: [impact] under some circumstances, libjemalloc2 hangs when used with fakechroot [test case] as noted in debian bug 918742: > apt install libfakechroot libjemalloc2 > LD_PRELOAD="libjemalloc.so.2 libfakechroot.so" /bin/true > [regression potential] this patch is already included in disco and later; regression potential should be low. Regressions would likely result in more/different hangs. [other info] this patch is already included in disco/eoan. In bionic and earlier, jemalloc does not hook the _Unwind_Backtrace function. [Bug 1826691] Re: fwupd hangs after 19.04 upgrade from 18.10
This is definitely a kernel bug, but it's exaggerated by userspace. So whether it should be worked around in userspace or fixed in the kernel space is debatable. For now, I believe you can employ that workaround to keep your system stable, but I would ask the following. 1) Can you please follow the things that the bot said to add your logs to the bug. 2) Can you please try latest mainline (5.1rc7: https://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v5.1-rc7/) and confirm it doesn't help? I don't expect it to. 3) If the fwupd workaround does end up being backported to Disco, please test it for the purposes of the SRU, you would see notification in this bug. ** Changed in: fwupd (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Disco) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: fwupd (Ubuntu Disco) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: linux (Ubuntu Eoan) Importance: Undecided Status: Incomplete ** Also affects: fwupd (Ubuntu Eoan) Importance: Undecided Status: Triaged ** Changed in: fwupd (Ubuntu Disco) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Disco) Status: New => Incomplete ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Eoan) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu Disco) Importance: Undecided => High ** Changed in: fwupd (Ubuntu Eoan) Importance: Undecided => Low ** Changed in: fwupd (Ubuntu Disco) Importance: Undecided => Low -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1826691 Title: fwupd hangs after 19.04 upgrade from 18.10 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fwupd/+bug/1826691/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I can confirm this as well. For me it's only happening in Slack; a link will eventually open in the browser, after well over a minute rather than the 2 seconds previously. [Bug 322271] Re: Sorting by name doesn't work well with digits or special chars
I'm not sure if this is the same bug or a different one. I am using ubuntu 14.04 LTS. I have a directory containing other directories. They sort correctly with "ls -l". But they show up in Nautilus as: 20190428_96a11107 <- wrong order 20190428_1271f6a8 20190428_4314187e 20190428_a4b67026 20190428_a9637c2a 20190428_bd912fd3 20190428_c7b6ee8a <- wrong order 20190428_c408cf3c 20190428_ec90884e I am not aware of any hidden special characters in the names. It is easy to reproduce on my machine. Just go to an empty folder and do: touch 20190428_1271f6a8 touch 20190428_4314187e touch 20190428_96a11107 touch 20190428_a4b67026 touch 20190428_a9637c2a touch 20190428_bd912fd3 touch 20190428_c408cf3c touch 20190428_c7b6ee8a touch 20190428_ec90884e They sort correctly with "ls -l", but not with Nautilus. [Bug 1825572] Re: april 2019 cpu
MariaDB 5.5.64 was released today and the 5.5 series update for 14.04 is now available. Please use git-buildpackage to fetch and build from the ubuntu-14.04 branch at https://salsa.debian.org/mariadb- team/mariadb-5.5/tree/ubuntu-14.04 The repository uses pristine-tar, so there is no need to separately download the sources. You can just check the signature/SHA1SUM directly from the git-buildpackage generated tarball. Test builds and testsuite passed on all platforms at https://launchpad.net/~mysql-ubuntu/+archive/ubuntu/mariadb/+builds?build_text=_state=all Debdiffs can be created directly from the repo like in a local clone with 'git diff .. debian/' Security sponsor note these: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/PublicationNotes#Sponsoring_MariaDB_Security_Updates -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1825572 Title: april 2019 cpu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/mariadb-10.0/+bug/1825572/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
