[Bug 1847635] Re: Ubuntu 19.10 installer crashed on install with ZFS
Hello Sebastien! What happened was this: I downloaded the beta ISO from 19.10. When trying to install it by formatting the disk in ZFS, I noticed that the option has not been available in the installer. I ran an apt update and apt full-upgrade and waited for the update to finish. After that, I proceeded with the installation and selected the entire disk to install with the ZFS partition. Upon reaching the installer part of the grub, the installation broke down. I don't understand much about it, but I think it's some compatibility issue between grub and ZFS. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847635 Title: Ubuntu 19.10 installer crashed on install with ZFS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub-installer/+bug/1847635/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1847582] Re: checkinstall leaves root filesystem unusable if interrupted
This is because Ubuntu has decided to disable fs translation by default (https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/checkinstall/+bug/78455). In my opinion that is a very unsafe default and the bug doesn't seem severe enough to justify it (mkdir -p is broken). Hi Joshua, > document here: > https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FoundationsTeam/AutomatedServerInstalls > I am going to mark this opinion and ask that if you have any further requests or questions that you add them to the discourse above. Thanks very much. I have two questions: 1) Currently we have three types of iso: ubuntu live server, ubuntu server and ubuntu desktop. the ubuntu live server use installer subiquity and the other two use installer ubiquity based on debain-installer The document say the feature "automated installation" will be implemented in the server installer for 20.04. Will it be implemented in ubuntu live server or ubuntu server or both ? Does the ubuntu desktop will support this feature ? 2) > The following section in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/FoundationsTeam/AutomatedServerInstalls >Providing the autoinstall file > The autoinstall file can be provided in the following ways: > 1) As /autoinstall.yaml in the initrd > 2) As /autoinstall.yaml on the install media > 3) As /autoinstall.yaml on a filesystem with label "autoinstall" > 4) Via a http or https (or maybe tftp) URL on the kernel command line For option 2), Does the install media means the same CD/DVD as ubuntu iso or individual CD/DVD ? Public bug reported: Please see the screenshot attached. When running a backup operation against a remote server with SSH, Deja Dup stops by saying "python-gi" package is required. [Bug 1837673] Re: Certbot will be unable to create new ACME accounts
I tested the packages in the PPA on Ubuntu 16.04 and 18.04 using the steps described at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/Certbot#SRU_Verification_Process. When testing, if you start with a clean /var/log/letsencrypt directory and don't include any flags to change the default server such as --staging, --test-cert, --server, the following command should have no output: grep 'acme-v01.api.letsencrypt.org' /var/log/letsencrypt/* I successfully ran https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/Certbot/TestScript on each system, but if anyone else wants to do this, you first have to install all Certbot packages and set the environment variable CERTBOT_PREINSTALLED=1 otherwise the script will try to install from proposed-updates. I also had to introduce an environment variable into the script to pin the version of boulder (Let's Encrypt's ACME server software) used for testing. Their most recent version has dropped support for features that are still included in Certbot and tested in the current script. The value I used here is BOULDERBRANCH="release-2019-03-11" which I believe is the most recent tag that works. The output of dpkg-query at the end of the script about tested packages was: On 18.04: certbot 0.27.0-1~ubuntu18.04.1~ppa3 letsencrypt 0.27.0-1~ubuntu18.04.1~ppa3 python3-acme0.31.0-2~ubuntu18.04.1~ppa3 python3-certbot 0.27.0-1~ubuntu18.04.1~ppa3 python3-certbot-apache 0.23.0-1 python3-certbot-nginx 0.23.0-1 python3-josepy 1.1.0-1 On 16.04: certbot 0.27.0-1~ubuntu16.04.1~ppa3 letsencrypt 0.27.0-1~ubuntu16.04.1~ppa3 python-acme 0.31.0-2~ubuntu16.04.1~ppa2 python-certbot 0.27.0-1~ubuntu16.04.1~ppa3 python-certbot-apache 0.23.0-1~ubuntu16.04.1 python-josepy 1.1.0-1~ubuntu16.04.1 python-letsencrypt 0.7.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 python-letsencrypt-apache 0.7.0-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1837673 Title: Certbot will be unable to create new ACME accounts To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-certbot/+bug/1837673/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1836823] Re: python-acme will break on November 1st
I tested the packages in the PPA on Ubuntu 16.04, 18.04, and 19.04 using the steps described at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/Certbot#SRU_Verification_Process. When testing against Let's Encrypt's ACMEv2 server (which is the default if you use the Certbot package from the PPA or you can include "--server https://acme-v02.api.letsencrypt.org/directory; on Certbot's command line if testing with the non-updated Certbot package) and starting with a clean /var/log/letsencrypt directory, you can use a command like: grep 'GET' /var/log/letsencrypt/* | grep -v '/directory' If this command produces any output, something has gone wrong. To run https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/Certbot/TestScript, you first have to install all Certbot packages and set the environment variable CERTBOT_PREINSTALLED=1 otherwise the script will try to install from proposed-updates. I also had to introduce an environment variable into the script to pin the version of boulder (Let's Encrypt's ACME server software) used for testing. [Bug 1847704] [NEW] On upgrade to 19.10, Unity custom keyboard shortcuts stop working
Public bug reported: After upgrading from 19.04 to 19.10, custom keyboard shortcuts in Unity stop working. I have Super-X bound to "gnome-terminal --maximize", Super-F bound to "firefox" and Super-T bound to "thunderbird". All worked before the upgrade, but none do now. Changing the custom shortcuts to other key combinations, such as Alt-D, does not help. Default shortcuts, such as Ctrl-Alt-T for terminal work correctly. Reporting this for the "unity" package as I don't know which package handles the keyboard shortcuts. Feel free to re-assign to the correct package. [Bug 1847377] Re: snmptrapd.service uses MIBSDIR instead of MIBDIRS
For a longer description of what I was doing... I have a device that sends SNMP traps and it was sending them to my desktop. I was monitoring snmptrapd using sudo journalctl -f -u snmptrapd. Originally, this provided only numeric OIDs. Installing snmp-mibs- downloader fixed up many of the OIDs but not the custom ones. In order to get the custom MIBS working, I had to add the directory they were in to MIBDIRS and add -m ALL to the snmptrapd.service file (well... I don't know if the commandline change was needed, I was following a co- worker's suggestions). I have attached the modified snmptrapd.service file to this bug. On my system, this file is /etc/systemd/system/snmptrapd.service. This is a command that works to send a trap to my local snmptrapd (running on the same box): MIBDIRS=/usr/share/snmp/mibs:/usr/share/snmp/mibs/iana:/usr/share/snmp/mibs/ietf:/usr/share/mibs/site:$HOME/work/git/ogtrapd/mibs /usr/bin/snmptrap -mALL -v 2c -c log 127.0.0.1:162 "0" OG-TEST- MIB::ogTESTMessage ogTESTMessageStatus s 'test message' I'll attach the custom MIBS needed to make this work too. That should allow you to complete reproduce the issue and fix. ** Attachment added: "snmptrapd.service" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/net-snmp/+bug/1847377/+attachment/5296409/+files/snmptrapd.service -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1847377 Title: snmptrapd.service uses MIBSDIR instead of MIBDIRS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/net-snmp/+bug/1847377/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
