[Bug 1836708] Re: Please package libbpf (which is done out of the kernel src) in Debian [for 19.10]

2019-12-01 Thread Christian Ehrhardt 
Ping, what is up with this nowadays?

I'm still not seeing this in Focals kernels (but as mentioned before in
Debian).

This blocks XDP support in DPDK for 20.04.
And most likely will make us need a Delta to Debian :-/

Therefore I wanted to ask if there is any update on this, a clear
blocker so I can plan for "this will never happen" or an ETA that I can
plan a merge of the new DPDK around?

[Bug 1840854] Re: mlx5_core reports hardware checksum error for padded packets on Mellanox NICs

2019-12-01 Thread Matthew Ruffell
Hi @mohamadh,

Are you using the in-tree drivers that Ubuntu supplies?

I have seen some customers using out of tree MOFED drivers from the
Mellanox website that have been out of date, and being able to reproduce
this on newer kernels like 4.15.0-66. Upon updating to newer MOFED
drivers or reverting to the normal Ubuntu supplied driver seemed to fix
things for them.

If you are using the normal Ubuntu kernel with inbuilt drivers, can you
open a new bug report and include your /var/log/kern.log with the Call
trace?

We can't simply ship a set of upstream patches untested, and every patch
needs to fix a specific problem, so we will work with you to find the
patch that fixes things.

Thanks,
Matthew

[Bug 1854680] [NEW] Wireless mouse stops working after closing lid and using external monitor

2019-12-01 Thread Alexander Biniam
Public bug reported:

My Lenovo Thinkpad i7 runs Ubuntu 5.3.0-23 with ease however I noticed
that when I close the lid on my computer all usb mouses act up (new or
old). After the lid is closed the mouse seems to "pressed" thus not
working as normal -- oddly the same keyboard or any keyboard is fine
though.

I have uploaded the two log files in addition to a desktop screen-record
of how the mouse acts up when I used it after and before closing the
lid.

I started to look into this patch - could you rebase it one last time on
top of master? (Please note that it mostly fails to apply because I
cleaned up the code formatting in the sourcecode - no more tabs, 2
spaces instead.)

Thanks in advance!

[Bug 1739805]

2019-12-01 Thread Simon Steinbeiß
Nvm, I rebased it myself.

So yes, it works, but I'm not sure I agree with not updating the panel
plugin with the brightness steps. I understand you bound it visually to
the brightness *buttons*, and that there is a separate GtkScale widget
in the panel plugin's menu.

What feels a little strange to have two brightness steps, one on the
brightness keys and the other for the mousewheel (which you can use on
hovering the plugin to change the brightness).

[Bug 1807056] Re: Occasional Keyboard freeze

2019-12-01 Thread Dilip
This time it happened during Ubuntu 18.04.3 installation through
bootable USB. When I was entering the user name and password during
installation, the keyboard froze. It took me around 15 minutes to get
out of the mess and have a proper installation. It will unfreeze for a
second and when I type two characters in the password box, it freezes
again. There is not even a cursor blinking in the boxes when I click on
them.

[Bug 1854660] Re: ubuntu 20.04 desktop - gnome tweaks not showing sections at left

2019-12-01 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1854660/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

lack of error is arguably worse than not globbing for the standard

[Bug 1854675] [NEW] Copy-paste adds tilde (bracketed paste)

2019-12-01 Thread Ted
Public bug reported:

Description:Ubuntu 16.04.6 LTS
Release:16.04

mate-terminal 1.12.1-1
libvte9 1:0.28.2-5ubuntu3

When copy-pasting into certain applications (such as MariaDB client), ~0
and ~1 are added around the pasted text, e.g.:

this is some copied text

becomes

0~this is some copied text1~

Some searching finds that this is due to a mishandling of bracketed
pastes. Apparently this was fixed in the VTE library. According to [1]:
"libvte-2.91-0 is good. libvte-2.90-9 is only good if the actual version
of that package is 0.36.2 or newer, and libvte9 is bad"

mate-terminal in Ubuntu 16.04 depends on libvte9. libvte-2.91-0 is also
available in Ubuntu 16.04. Just installing it doesn't fix the issue of
course; mate-terminal would need to be updated to use it.

[Bug 1854676] [NEW] Web Midi API Doesn't Work in Snap-Version of Chromium

2019-12-01 Thread Lonnie Lee Best
Public bug reported:

With aspirations of creating a web based Midi tool, using Ubuntu 19.10, I'm
trying to test out the Web Midi API:
https://www.w3.org/TR/webmidi/

Although it is supposed to be supported in Chromium, none of these samples work
in Ubuntu 19.10's snap-package installation of Chromium:

In the meantime, please recommend a work-around of how I can work with
the Web Midi API while using Ubuntu Linux as my operating system.
