[Bug 1884472] Re: a2jmidid checkbox do not work correctly
The default setting for jackdbus for midi is none, not raw. However running any other jackdbus startup utility in the past will create ~/.config/jack/conf.xml. An upgrade from to 19.10 to 20.04 will not reset that file as it is not an installed file. That said, because controls sets all controls it needs to every time it starts and starting jackdbus rewrites that file, future versions of studio-controls will remove that file before starting to avoid mis- settings made by other utilities. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1884472 Title: a2jmidid checkbox do not work correctly To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntustudio-controls/+bug/1884472/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1884472] Re: a2jmidid checkbox do not work correctly
I have no issues connecting my MIDI hardware to any software and therefore cannot reproduce. Please note that development of this application is not done specifically for Ubuntu anymore and has become an upstream project as Studio Controls (https://github.com/ovenwerks/studio-controls). Because we cannot backport studio-controls into the Ubuntu repositories for Ubuntu 20.04, this is likely a bug, if it even is a bug (bugs are reproducible on all hardware), that is not going to get fixed until there is a new release of Studio Controls which would be backported into the Ubuntu Studio Backports PPA. In your case, it is likely you ran qjackctl at some point (NOT recommended) before running (Ubuntu) Studio Conrols.

[Bug 1874567] Re: [nvidia] Rotating secondary monitor to portrait fails, results in landscape
Hello folks. I experience this issue with my three monitor setup (two of which are vertical) using NVIDIA Drivers 440.82 on PopOS 20.04. Monitor layout works with xrandr/arandr and if I hand craft manitors.xml, configuration is preserved. I have posted my details here https://github.com/pop-os/pop/issues/933#issuecomment-643681670 But GUI doesn't work. Also after recovering from suspend layout explodes again. [Bug 1878275] Re: [qxl] wayland session hard freezes on login from GDM (X11 session works fine)
Thanks for the videos. One thing you didn't seem to try, and I think is the most likely to work, would be: Ctrl+Alt+F3, Ctrl+Alt+F2 because VT2 is where you want to go in the end but it might be ignored until you switch to VT3 or higher first. Secondly, I can now see the ssh problem you mentioned... Enter passphrase for /home/john/.ssh/id_rsa: * ssh-add: Identities added: /home/john/.ssh/id_rsa Yes that sounds like a general account problem which would explain why you experience trouble with both physical and virtual machines. So I suspect the real problem is coming from: "I have keychain installed for password-less SSH" Please remove "keychain" and your bash_profile modifications. ** Package changed: mutter (Ubuntu) => ubuntu ** Summary changed: - [qxl] wayland session hard freezes on login from GDM (X11 session works fine) + wayland session hard freezes on login from GDM (X11 session works fine) ** Package changed: ubuntu => gdm3 (Ubuntu) ** Changed in: gdm3 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1878275 Title: wayland session hard freezes on login from GDM (X11 session works fine) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gdm3/+bug/1878275/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1884470] [NEW] Nested virt fails with 'failed to set MSR' causing QEMU to abort
Public bug reported: [Impact] When using an instance on Azure Cloud, nested kvm virtualisation fails with the following error message: qemu-system-x86_64: error: failed to set MSR 0x48b to 0x11582e qemu-system-x86_64: /build/qemu-FC5BvZ/qemu-4.2/target/i386/kvm.c:2680: kvm_buf_set_msrs: Assertion `ret == cpu->kvm_msr_buf->nmsrs' failed. A test package for focal is available in the following ppa: https://launchpad.net/~mruffell/+archive/ubuntu/sf284806-test The patched QEMU from the above ppa fixes the problem, and the VM launches successfully. [Regression Potential] The code adds a check to see if MSR_IA32_VMX_PROCBASED_CTLS2 is present, and if it is, then we skip over checking of particular CPUIDs and subsequent enabling of VMX's, since the CPUID might exist and the VMX won't. If a regression were to occur, some systems might be missing VMX's being enabled if these checks were incorrectly skipped, leading to particular features missing for a VM. In the worse case scenario, the VM may not start due to missing or incorrectly set MSRs. The code is simple and targeted, and I believe the chance for regression is very low. [Bug 394398] Re: Logic to determine expected number of running session wrong (regression in hardy's open-iscsi 2.0.865-1ubuntu3.1)
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug.
