The fix is not already there.
You have "5.13.0-1008-raspi #9-Ubuntu" released on 2021-10-11.
When you "install" now you see "linux-raspi is already the newest version".

It takes 2-5 seconds to respond to scrolls and clicks.

[Bug 1738251]

2021-10-22 Thread Qa-admin-q
Dear bugcatcher1,

To make sure we're focusing on the bugs that affect our users today,
LibreOffice QA is asking bug reporters and confirmers to retest open,
confirmed bugs which have not been touched for over a year.

There have been thousands of bug fixes and commits since anyone checked
on this bug report. During that time, it's possible that the bug has
been fixed, or the details of the problem have changed. We'd really
appreciate your help in getting confirmation that the bug is still
present.

If you have time, please do the following:

Test to see if the bug is still present with the latest version of
LibreOffice from https://www.libreoffice.org/download/

If the bug is present, please leave a comment that includes the information
from Help - About LibreOffice.

If the bug is NOT present, please set the bug's Status field to
RESOLVED-WORKSFORME and leave a comment that includes the information from Help
- About LibreOffice.

Please DO NOT

Update the version field
Reply via email (please reply directly on the bug tracker)
Set the bug's Status field to RESOLVED - FIXED (this status has a particular
meaning that is not
appropriate in this case)

If you want to do more to help you can test to see if your issue is a
REGRESSION. To do so:
1. Download and install oldest version of LibreOffice (usually 3.3 unless your
bug pertains to a feature added after 3.3) from
https://downloadarchive.documentfoundation.org/libreoffice/old/

2. Test your bug
3. Leave a comment with your results.
4a. If the bug was present with 3.3 - set version to 'inherited from OOo';
4b. If the bug was not present in 3.3 - add 'regression' to keyword

Feel free to come ask questions or to say hello in our QA chat:
https://web.libera.chat/?settings=#libreoffice-qa

Thank you for helping us make LibreOffice even better for everyone!

Warm Regards,
QA Team

[Bug 1938908] Re: Backport the container stack in Impish

2021-10-22 Thread Steve Langasek
Hello Lucas, or anyone else affected,

Accepted opengcs into bionic-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/opengcs/0.3.4+dfsg2-0ubuntu3.18.04.2
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation on how
to enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this
update out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, what testing has been
performed on the package and change the tag from verification-needed-
bionic to verification-done-bionic. If it does not fix the bug for you,
please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-
failed-bionic. In either case, without details of your testing we will
not be able to proceed.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance for helping!

N.B. The updated package will be released to -updates after the bug(s)
fixed by this package have been verified and the package has been in
-proposed for a minimum of 7 days.

** Changed in: opengcs (Ubuntu Bionic)
   Status: New => Fix Committed

[Bug 1948460] Re: unable to upgrade into 21.04 to 21.10

2021-10-22 Thread Brian Murray
Reviewing the log file, /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log, from your
upgrade attempt there was a failure to communicate with the mirror of
the Ubuntu archive which you use. This could either be due to an issue
with your connection to the mirror or with the mirror itself.
Regardless, this is an issue you'll need to sort out by fixing your
network connection or switching to a different mirror of the Ubuntu
archive before the upgrade can complete. If after resolving the
communication error with the mirror you are still unable to upgrade to a
new release of Ubuntu please open a new bug report so we'll have fresh
log files. Thanks and good luck!

[Bug 1948504] [NEW] [Lenovo P52s] Unable to WiFi connect to Inseego Wavemaker 5G FX2000

2021-10-22 Thread Christopher M . Peñalver
Public bug reported:

1) lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 21.10
Release:21.10

2) uname -a
Linux worldpeacepc 5.13.0-21-generic #21-Ubuntu SMP Tue Oct 19 08:59:28 UTC
2021 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

3) What is expected to happen is when I click the top right hand side of
the GUI, choose the SSID associated with the Inseego Wavemaker 5G
FX2000, put in the known good password, it connects.

4) What happens instead is it fails to connect. Same problem in Ubuntu
21.04.

However, I'm able to connect to other SSIDs from other non-Inseego
devices. An iPhone 12 Mini and Windows 10 devices have no problems
connecting.

What I tried but it didn't change anything:
1) Disable ipv6 in Ubuntu.
2) In the Inseego GUI, change from:
5GHz 802.11acn/ax

to:
5GHz 802.11ac

WORKAROUND: In the Inseego GUI changing the WiFi security from:
WPA3/WPA2 Transition

to:
WPA2 Personal PSK (AES)

[Bug 1939379] Re: ARM kernel builds fail with GCC 11

2021-10-22 Thread Sergio Durigan Junior
I've added php8.1 as a task because this bug is affecting the package as
well.

FWIW, I wasn't able to workaround this problem by just using
-march=armv7-a+fp, even though I agree it should have worked. I had to
actually pass -mfpu=vfpv3-d16 (no need to pass -march).

Either way, I just wanted to let you folks know that this is affecting
other packages too.

[Bug 1919026] Re: cinnamon-settings-users: User dialog holds if user creates a user that already exists

2021-10-22 Thread Steve Langasek
is there any risk here that enumerating the users, in environments where
a large number of users are visible to the system (AD realms, etc), will
cause all user creation to be slow here? I would normally expect either
to do a try and then catch whatever exception is raised when trying to
create an already-existing user, or else to query for the exact username
from the backend to find out whether it exists rather than enumerating.
(Basically, one of the two options already listed in
https://github.com/linuxmint/cinnamon/issues/9494#issue-667846043.) I
see that this is already committed upstream, but I still have
reservations about making a change such as this in SRU because of the
risk that making a change that fixes behavior when the user has made an
uncommon error (conflicting username) could impact all users in certain
environments (AD realms) that haven't committed an error.

[Bug 1948502] [NEW] TP-Link UB500 Bluetooth USB adapter not working properly

2021-10-22 Thread gwendydd
Public bug reported:

I have just bought a Tp-link bluetooth 5.0 usb adapter (UB500). According to
this website https://usb-ids.gowdy.us/read/UD/2357/0604 the chip is Realtek
RTL8761B.
It works just fine on Windows 10, but I'm having problems on Ubuntu.

I'm running Ubuntu 21.10 with the 5.14.14-051414-generic kernel

The adapter seems to be correctly installed and properly working,
however scanning does not pick up any bluetooth device. I've tried two
headsets (that I know are properly working) and my phone, with no

For Ubuntu users at least :

in the Exec line of the .desktop just replace the beginning

/snap/chromium//usr/lib/chromium-browser/chrome

by

chromium-browser

Maybe also look at Web App Manager offered by Mint team.

…and now Firefox will be packaged as a snap, what a sad joke.

[Bug 1948481] Re: sustem locks up when tryiny to move icon (Firefox) up list on left update 2021-10

2021-10-22 Thread Ubuntu Foundations Team Bug Bot
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. It seems that your bug report is not filed about a
specific source package though, rather it is just filed against Ubuntu
in general. It is important that bug reports be filed about source
packages so that people interested in the package can find the bugs
about it. You can find some hints about determining what package your
bug might be about at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage.
You might also ask for help in the #ubuntu-bugs irc channel on Freenode.

To change the source package that this bug is filed about visit
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/1948481/+editstatus and add the
package name in the text box next to the word Package.

[This is an automated message. I apologize if it reached you
inappropriately; please just reply to this message indicating so.]

The BIOS for the BL460c is already updated to the 2021.05 SPP and is at
v2.80. The networking device's firmware is also up to date at v7.18.77
(from the same 2021.05 SPP).

Does anyone know how to get one of these things working/detected
correctly? Other than somehow magically getting HP to start producing
non-buggy BIOS firmware. Is this a known bug/problem or is there a
kernel parameter I can specify during installation to get it working?

[Bug 1948497] Re: [SRU] plasma-optimus has abnormally high power usage and has menu issues

2021-10-22 Thread Erich Eickmeyer 
** Also affects: plasma-optimus (Ubuntu Impish)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Also affects: plasma-optimus (Ubuntu Jammy)
   Importance: High
 Assignee: Erich Eickmeyer  (eeickmeyer)

   Status: New => Fix Committed

** Changed in: plasma-optimus (Ubuntu Impish)
   Importance: Undecided => High

** Changed in: plasma-optimus (Ubuntu Jammy)
   Importance: High => Medium

** Changed in: plasma-optimus (Ubuntu Impish)
Assignee: (unassigned) => Erich Eickmeyer  (eeickmeyer)

** Description changed:

  [Impact]

  * Users have reported abnormally high power usage in plasma-optimus.
Upon investigation, this was due to a component (sniff-gpu.sh) being
called every second, using 0.037 seconds of processor time each call due
to glxinfo being called as part of the script. For laptop users, this is
problematic when on battery power. This upload includes a patch which
runs sniff-gpu.sh once upon load. Additionally, the script has been
updated to only run "prime-select query" every 10 seconds as opposed to
every second, which lowers CPU usage as well.

  * Additionally, it has been noticed that when someone changes GPU mode
from the command line (via prime-select), this widget is unable to
switch to the GPU mode previously selected since it was incorrectly
reported as "true" when it should update to "false" for GPU mode in use.

  [Test Plan]

  * With plasma-optimus installed, run powertop. Notice every second
sniff-gpu being called with high power usage due to glxinfo being
  called.

  * Change GPU mode via 'prime-select nvidia|on-demand|intel'. Widget will
update to the correct icon, but more than one menu item becomes disabled
(only current mode should be disabled).

  [Where problems could occur]

  * The only disadvantage to this update is that instead of updating the
widget every second, it now updates every 10 seconds, meaning if one
updates via 'prime-select' it will not take effect in the widget right
away. This may cause some users, expecting it to update
immediately/within a second, to think the behavior is abnormal.
+
+ [Other Information]
+
+ * This fix was done under an entirely new upload (22.04.0) for Jammy.

[Bug 1948498] [NEW] Bluetooth Headset not working when Lenovo P14s AMD Gen1 is connected to Lenovo USB Dock 40AY0090EU

2021-10-22 Thread Sebastian Nohn
Public bug reported:

When the Laptop is not connected to it's dock, the bluethooth headset
works.

As soon as it is connected to a Lenovo 40AY0090EU Dock, sound stops on
the headsets and plays via the display connected via DisplayPort.

The headset is still available in sound settings, but even if selected,
no sound plays on the headset. If I change the configuration (HSP/A2DP),
a short "click" sound can be heard on the headset, so apparently there's
still something going on between the laptop and the headsets.

[Bug 1916250] Re: gir1.2-signon-2.0 needs to declare replace on older releases (Groovy2Hirsute and Focal2Jammy)

Given that hirsute and impish are both stable releases and focal2impish
will be a supported upgrade path when hirsute becomes end of life there
is need for an SRU. So could you please add the SRU template information
to the bug report?

[Bug 1945803] Re: a2jmidid: building on RISC-V fails

2021-10-22 Thread Brian Murray
Well given that the Debian package hasn't been updated in two years
let's just go ahead and get this done in Ubuntu. Heinrich please keep an
eye on the upstream debian bug though and let us know if we can sync the
package.
