[Bug 1946359] Re: [MIR] vulkan-tools
While this is for CPC, Server team members work on it. Thereby I know that while obviously we'd appreciate a faster review, this can happen past 22.04 - but not much later. Also we have to face that the >=Focal tasks still have some TODOs to even enter security review queue - therefore this can't be of "Panic we need it now priority". The intention is to have the required TODOs resolved by ~April and to get security review completed afterwards by Mid 2022. Setting priority to Medium (can be high once required TODOs are done), and milestone to 22.04 (the latest currently existing milestone). Also - since the current task on >=Focal is not on Lukas but on Miriam I'm assigning the task to her. ** Changed in: vulkan-tools (Ubuntu Jammy) Assignee: Lukas Märdian (slyon) => Miriam España Acebal (mirespace) ** Changed in: vulkan-tools (Ubuntu Jammy) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: vulkan (Ubuntu Bionic) Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: vulkan-tools (Ubuntu Jammy) Milestone: None => ubuntu-22.04 -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1946359 Title: [MIR] vulkan-tools To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vulkan/+bug/1946359/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1852071] Re: [HP ZBook Studio G5, Ubuntu 18.04.3 LTS] Brightness function keys works as microphone mute function keys
From this ticket, I'm awared there are many HP platforms shared this issue. Here is the platform list I found here: 1. HP ZBook Studio G5 by Marcin [1] 2. a HP Elite Dragonfly by Michael 3. a HP Elitebook X360 1040 by Nova [2] If you could help to find your machines on the Ubuntu certification page[3] then it will help (please also share if any component is different). Back to this issue, we did face this issue during the certification on some HP machines and as the comment#19,20, it's also HP told us the way to workaround this issue. FWIK, this issue is caused by HP's firmware. HP has a windows application which will configure the HP EC (embedded controller) as a something like Windows mode. In this mode, EC will send the different keycode when you pressed the function key. After pressing the power button roughly 15 seconds, it will reset EC to something like default(normal?) mode which working good in Linux. That's why it impacts the dual boot users as you reported. For comment#24, we communicated with HP many times and would like to ask HP to provide the detailed specification of what HP did in Windows then we could implement it in Linux as well but unfortunately, HP didn't provide further information and announced the issue is fixed in latest BIOS (01.04.01 in the other HP platform - 440 G7). Thus, could you please help to upgrade your BIOS to latest to see if the issue presents? If so and if your machine is listed on Ubuntu certification page[3] then I can help you to escalate this issue. BTW, this issue is only happen on "a machine did boot to Windows with HP application". Thus, it'll probably not happen in Ubuntu certification process. If any of you meet the issue on Ubuntu certified platforms then feel free to report a bug. I have a feeling the issue is most likely not Diodon related but indicator related. So to confirm this do you have another app which uses the libayatana- indicator and see whether that shows up? Another idea which came to my mind is that you might have a different theme on the two different machines and it cannot find the icon in one of them. But most likely this is not the case but wanted to throw in there to be sure. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956212 Title: No Diodon applet in the Notification Zone To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/diodon/+bug/1956212/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1957029] [NEW] Accidental undo after copying a remote file will delete data
Public bug reported: If a file has been copied from a remote source or external file system which is then unmounted, a ctrl-Z in Caja will delete the file with no prompt for confirmation. To reproduce: 1. Copy file from a remote drive. 2. Unmount drive. 3. Press ctrl-Z or select Edit->Undo. An irreversible undo should either be ignored or ask for confirmation. If the original file has been removed from the external media (or if it was only transient on that file system), then it's gone forever with no options for recovery. [Bug 1956412] Re: crash reports don't go to proper dev team
why would you say you won't fix this? it would be easy to implement systems and policies for ubuntu modders and upstream teams to coordinate. at minimum, give upstream access to the crash reports, issue trackers, etc. it doesn't take manpower, you don't have to test. all you have to do is forward by default, or at least provide access. if upstream wants to ignore the forwards, that's on them. don't ruin it for everyone by assuming you have to accommodate the least cooperative teams. i doubt that the vast majority of reports have to do with ubuntu mods anyway -- they almost all belong upstream. the majority case is the case you should design for. it is a huge shame to take your users' reports and efforts in reporting issues, and let them go to waste. the spirit of oss is a partnership with users, upstream teams, and not wasting anyone's contributions and efforts. as an example please note the crash i reported regarding gnome-remote- desktop. where did it go? how do we find it? it had nothing to do with any ubuntu mod. how do i get it to that upstream gnome team? how do we give them access to the system holding it? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956412 Title: crash reports don't go to proper dev team To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1956412/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1957024] [NEW] pam-mkhomedir does not honor private home directories
Public bug reported: As reported in https://discourse.ubuntu.com/t/private-home-directories- for-ubuntu-21-04-onwards/19533/13: A common situation is to have a central set of users (e.g. in LDAP) and use pam_mkhomedir.so to create the home directory when the user first logs in. These changes do not cover this situation. The default configuration of pam_mkhomedir.so will result in a home directory created with 0755 permissions. To make pam_mkhomedir.so create a home directory by default with permissions consistent with the other tools then a umask argument can be added to the pam_mkhomedir.so module in the file /usr/share/pam- configs/mkhomedir. [Bug 1957022] [NEW] gadmin kills openvpn processes!!
Public bug reported: Hi, I'm on Debian but I think the problem is not so far in Ubuntu too. If you try to install gadmin-openvpn and set a server and client configuration it installs some scripts in /et/init.d that kill any other openvpn process at start-up. So, if you want to uninstall gadmin-openvpn-client and gadmin-openvpn-server you MUST delete these two shit persistent files too, not included in the file package list: - /etc/init.d/gadmin-openvpn-client - /etc/init.d/gadmin-openvpn-server Hope this can help. [Bug 1956412] Re: crash reports don't go to proper dev team
There are frequently modifications made to Ubuntu packages which upstream developers are not aware of or the Ubuntu version of a package can be one or more versions behind the latest upstream version. For these reasons the crash reports first come to Ubuntu and ideally are then forwarded to the upstream developers. I say ideally as we don't have the manpower to test and forward every bug report to the upstream developers. ** Changed in: apport (Ubuntu) Status: New => Won't Fix -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1956412 Title: crash reports don't go to proper dev team To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1956412/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

** Attachment added: "Output of the script execution" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-advantage-tools/+bug/1951954/+attachment/5553195/+files/output ** Description changed: [Impact] If /snap/bin is not present in the PATH, UA will fail when trying to run it. This is fixed by specifying the full path (/snap/bin/canonical-livepatch) to every call from UA side. [Test Case] To reproduce the bug, run `sudo env PATH="/usr/bin" ua refresh` on an attached bionic machine. Then, install the 27.5 version from the staging PPA (https://launchpad.net/~ua-client/+archive/ubuntu/staging) Repeating the same command as above runs without an error. + + There is a test script attached to this bug, as well as execution + output, to show the above solution works. [Regression Potential] It could only cause problems if canonical-livepatch is in a different place than /snap/bin, and it should not happen in any installation.
