issue you are having does not appear related to Ubuntu. Subscribing and

[Bug 681093] Re: Video is not shown

2010-11-24 Thread AbuDawud
Thank you for taking the time to report this issue and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Upon investigation it looks like the issue you are having
is that you do not have Adobe Flash installed and are trying to watch a
flash video. This issue does not appear to be a bug report so we are
closing it and converting it to a question in the support tracker. We
appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but it would make more sense
to raise problems you are having in the support tracker at
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu if you are uncertain if they are
bugs. For help on reporting bugs, see

[Bug 681075] Re: Bluetooth Adapter not detected

2010-11-24 Thread AbuDawud
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
4. please elaborate on what kind of bluetooth adapter you are attempting to use

[Bug 678460] Re: don't ship .bmp files but rather .png

2010-11-22 Thread AbuDawud
First and foremost, thanks for helping make Ubuntu better by
recommending a change for the benefit of our users!

This should not be marked as critical as a critical importance is reserved for:
Critical: A bug which has a severe impact on a large portion of Ubuntu users

I am requesting the importance here be changed to wishlist as this is a
feature request, albeit a very helpful one. Wishlist importance
incorporates the following 'bugs':

Wishlist: a request to add a new feature to one of the programs in Ubuntu.
* These aren't always bugs, but can be ideas for new features which do not
yet exist.
* These can also be requests to have software packaged for Ubuntu.

Again, thanks for your valuable input!

[Bug 667451] Re: ubuntu-bug audio hangs on speaker test

2010-11-22 Thread AbuDawud
There are two different bugs being reported here. The fix noted by David
is for the cancel button hanging the application when the user tries to
abort the audio test.

The other bug, where the application tells the user to 'Press OK to hear
the test tone' but the only button available is 'Close', is being
tracked @ https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/678371

[Bug 678371] Re: apport-gtk speaker test message refers to Close button as OK

2010-11-22 Thread AbuDawud
I am removing the duplicate note on this report as the bug this was
pointing at had mentioned two separate issues. This bug will be utilized
to track the issue noted above where the user is prompted to 'Press OK
to hear the test tone' and the only button available is 'Close'.

Steps to reproduce the issue:

1. Run ubuntu-bug from a shell window with no arguments

2. @ 'What kind of problem do you want to report?', respond with
'Sound/audio related problems'

3. @ 'What particular problem do you observe?', respond with 'Playback
does not work, or is crackling'

4. @ 'Have you checked that your sound system is plugged in, and turned
on?', respond with 'Yes'

5. @ 'What is the name of the sound card you are having problems with?',
respond with 'HDA-Intel - HDA Intel'

6. Note the message Press OK to hear the test tone, and the only
option is Close

2010-11-22 Thread AbuDawud
Pankaj, the issue you are reporting is not a bug, its a configuration
issue. Please provide more information regarding the exact issue you are
experiencing (window/Ubuntu dual boot, LiveCD, etc), what the steps are
that you are following, and what you would like the functionality to do.
I have found multiple articles talking about this issue but there are
very different scenarios with different resolutions.

Also, please see the link I posted above and this one
(http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/grub-2.html) for more information
regarding using Grub and modifying the list to show more operating

* Is this reproducible?
* If so, what specific steps should we take to recreate this bug?

[Bug 680368] Re: Send/Receive messages or posts for Google Buzz and Ping.fm accounts don't work

2010-11-22 Thread AbuDawud
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Part of this particular bug has already been reported and
in bug 626023, so this bug will be used to track the latter issue.
Please look at the other bug report to see if there is any missing
information that you can provide regarding the Buzz issue, or to see if
there is a workaround for the bug. Additionally, any further discussion
regarding that bug, it should occur in the other report. Feel free to
continue to report any other bugs you may find and this bug will be left
open to track the Ping.FM issue.

I was able to reproduce the Ping.FM issue noted in the original report
by doing the following:

1. Creating a Ping.FM account
2. Setting up the Ping.FM account in Gwibber using the API key provided by
Ping.FM
3. Attempting to send multiple messages to ultimately route to other social
media platform from Ping.FM
4. No messages after left the Gwibber platform or reached my Ping.FM account.

Output from 'gwibber-service -d -o' as recommended in bug #626023:

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make

description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).

Also, please be sure to note the application this is occurring in. Is it
bash in an emulator or is it outside of the GUI?

Thanks!

[Bug 676600] Re: cursor jumps around while trying to write causing errors in printline

2010-11-21 Thread AbuDawud
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better. Unfortunately, we cannot work on this bug because your
description didn't include enough information. You may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem.

We have instructions on debugging some types of problems at
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProcedures

At a minimum, we need:
1. the specific steps or actions you took that caused you to encounter the
problem,
2. the behavior you expected, and
3. the behavior you actually encountered (in as much detail as possible).
Thanks!
