It happens for me too with an Intel integrated video card. The error
occurs when spotify tries to load advertisements or the header part for
a playlist. I don't know if the error is connected to the video driver
at all. Im on ubuntu 14.10.

2015-03-07 Thread Adam Hallgat
Still happening on
3.16.0-31-generic #41-Ubuntu SMP Tue Feb 10 15:24:04 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64
x86_64 GNU/Linux

Happens very often if torrent is running. After logout the lightdm is not
responsible.
This dmesg log shows the error. I tried to disconnect from the network several
times, then pressed the wifi switch on my laptop. They did nothing, I only got
the usual "Disconnecting the device was unsuccesful (4) Didn't receive a reply"
which I always get when the wifi locks up.

[Bug 1388416] [NEW] rt2x00usb_vendor_request: Error - vendor request * failed for offset * with error -110

2014-11-01 Thread Adam Hallgat
Public bug reported:

Using Ubuntu 14.10 (64bit) the following error happens in every few
days:

Suddenly the network connection disconnects and locks up every process
which is connected to networking. The only way is to reset the whole
computer.

If i log in to tty i get the following error in every half minutes or
so:

ieee80211 phy0: rt2x00usb_vendor_request: Error - vendor request 0x07
failed for offset 0x3090 with error -110

Also i get some other messages about some application being blocked for
more than 120 seconds. The applications are the following:

- network manager,
- wpa_supplicant,
- dropbox,
- dns res~ver, dns resolver (for some this is mentioned twice like this)
- kworker

I use Ubuntu on a Nec Versa One (M370) laptop since Ubuntu 9.10. I have
always had similar driver issues with my built-in wireless card. The
module which throws the error changed though.

>From 9.10 to 13.* i got the same error from the rt73usb module.
Now I'm using Ubuntu 14.10 (64bit) and now i get this error from the rt2x00usb
module. (this is used by the rt73usb mod).

This bug affects me as long as i have been using Ubuntu. I guess this
driver issue might depend on the manufacturer, and hard to fix, but at
least I would like to see a workaround to somehow solve this issue
without rebooting.

[Bug 1124632] Re: Backspace key does not work anymore.

2013-04-23 Thread Adam Hallgat
But being unable to change it is a bug.

Also Alt+down only can be used to go back one times, even if the navigator
displays the previous folders.
For example:
You are in /username/Images/Wallpapers folder.You Alt+up.
You are in /username/Images folder. You Alt+up.
You are in /username folder.

Now you see that with your mouse you can still go back to the Wallpapers
folder, but Alt+down only takes you to the Images folder, and pressing Alt+down
does nothing.
The second Alt+tab should bring you back to the Wallpapers folder. (Or what's
the point of showing the folders you have came from?)

And what's the point of disabling the backspace function?

[Bug 968291] Re: Cannot raise window on click

2013-04-23 Thread Adam Hallgat
I noticed this error on Ubuntu 13.04 beta, using an own desktop environment.
(maybe it affects unity, but it uses a different titlebar for maximised
windows, might be hard to notice)

 This script launches my environment:

#!/bin/bash
gnome-session &
compiz ccp &
nautilus &
synapse &
tint2

Symptoms:

If I open a Nautilus and for example Thunderbird (both fullscreen) one of them
loses it's focus when it's titlebar is clicked, and it switches to the other
window. (So if you want to close a window, you end up closing another.)
The windows get the focus when I click on them, but clicking the titlebar loses
it.
After minimizing windows an restoring them, the problem is gone.
Sometimes both windows are "unfocusable" by clicking on the titlebar.
Sometimes one window is acting like it's "always in foreground".

The problem still persists, if "gnome compatibility" and "window
decorations" are the only things checked in CCSM.
