[Bug 1447038] Re: Shutdown/Restart of live session guest does not work in Virtualbox, and VMWare

2016-02-26 Thread Alex Dueppen
Tim you can also edit the kernel command line to output the logs through
a serial port if you have the equipment to receive the logs afterwards.

[Bug 1534881] [NEW] Installation with encrypted LVM fails with errno 5 in Virtualbox

2016-01-15 Thread Alex Dueppen
Public bug reported:

Installation went normally until the error message suddenly popped up.
This is the 20160115 daily ISO but I am unable to run `lsb_release -rd`
since I am stuck in the restricted live session. After resetting the VM
and trying the installation again, it worked with no errors.

[Bug 1529314] Re: Newly installed Xenial (encrypted LVM) will not boot

It seems that the reason why this is happening is that the information
in the testcase was outdated. The testcase information has now been
updated and subsequent tests have succeeded in booting the system.

[Bug 1447038] Re: Shutdown/Restart of live session guest does not work in Virtualbox or VMWare

2016-01-03 Thread Alex Dueppen
Changing the Virtualbox settings and the kernel command line to output
to a text file on the host machine (see
https://www.virtualbox.org/wiki/Serial_redirect) worked to get a log
file, but caused the "Please remove the installation medium, then press
ENTER:" screen as well as a text-mode animation to show up. Pressing
enter did not cause the system to shut itself down though. The text-mode
shutdown animation continued to display along with the "Please remove
the installation medium, then press ENTER:" message. Due to the fact
that the issue changes whenever logging is set up, it will likely be
difficult to debug this issue fully.

[Bug 1528730] [NEW] Panel menus appear on top of screen despite the panel being on the bottom

2015-12-22 Thread Alex Dueppen
Public bug reported:

Release: Lubuntu Xenial Xerus (development branch) daily build from 21/12/15
Affected Package Version: 0.10.0-2
I expected for the volume mixer, removable media manager, and the application
menu to appear at the bottom of the screen where the panel is, but instead they
opened up at the very top of the screen. The problem fixed itself after
changing the screen resolution but would presumably also fix itself after
