[Bug 1815110] [NEW] CMake configuration files are missing

2019-02-07 Thread Alex K
Public bug reported:

The CMake configuration files are only generated if CMake is used when building
this package instead of autotools (see [1]).
I think it would be really nice if the ubunu package would include the cmake
configure files in /lib/cmake/glog/ either by maually adding them or by
switching the package build to CMake.

[Bug 1274517] [NEW] Illegal Assignment Operator in Makefile.am

2014-01-30 Thread Alex K
Public bug reported:

LikewiseOpen (likewise-open-5.4.0.42111) seems to be containing an
assignment operator that was coded incorrectly in

lsass/server/store/dsapi/Makefile.am (line #14) : ADDITIONAL_LIBS _=
$(NOINST_DEP_LIBS)

During the build it would generate a Makefile with the following line :
ADDITIONAL_LIBS _= $(NOINST_DEP_LIBS)

Which in turn would break the build with error: Makefile:828: ***
missing separator. Stop.

Make 3.82 (or later) would complain about a line like this, but Make
3.81 (or earlier) would not. This could explain why the typo gone
unnoticed for so long.

Confirm - freeze happens on minimizing of last window, if
org.gnome.desktop.background.show-desktop-icon param in dcong
unchecked (set to false). If you check this back (set to true) - all is
ok and no more freezes

[Bug 825299] Re: Applications launched at startup lose their position in the launcher

2012-05-05 Thread Alex K
I installed Nixnote on Ubuntu 12.04, locked the icon to my launcher, and
set a custom icon via /usr/share/applications/nixnote.desktop.

When I copy nixnote.desktop to ~/.config/autostart/, Nixnote shows up in
my startup applications list with the proper icon. When I log off then
log back on, Nixnote launches automatically (as it should). However, it
doesn't use the Nixnote icon that is already locked to the launcher - it
uses a grainy icon that I am not able to successfully lock to my
launcher (if I lock it, it disappears when I close Nixnote).

I will attach a screen shot and my xprop output for Nixnote.

[Bug 580961] Re: unzip fails to deal correctly with filename encodings

2011-04-03 Thread Alex. K.
yeah, you right - its not a paper cut.
its really a knife stab

btw just compile version from here ftp://ftp.info-
zip.org/pub/infozip/beta/unzip610b.zip

it work quite well, except it still doesnt work with er.. lets say,
winrar-maked zip archives - interoperability with other os not achieved

oh, and it broke file-roller too. :(

For now frol's ppa is best solution (for me, at least)
(thanks flol !)

[Bug 554835] Re: [855GM] GPU hang when an application tries to use XVideo

2010-05-17 Thread Alex K
I see this problem on my ThinkPad R50e in both 2.6.32-21 and 2.6.32-22 upgrades
. The problem isn't exist on 2.6.32-20 release . I'm not sure if I understood
the resolution of this bug ???
i915=0 - should it work for any laptop ?
In addition I got the feeling that in -22 release everything will be fixed .
Maybe I didn't understand the blog well enough

[Bug 388656] Re: Non-intuitive term Move to trash

2009-12-13 Thread Alex K
I'm in favor of the solution presented by post #7. The solution is not
to change the name (delete isn't a whole lot easier to see, in my
experience) but to fix the context menu. Clearing out cruft and moving
Move to trash to the bottom of the list gets my vote.

[Bug 290266] Re: [needs-packaging] game editor

2009-10-16 Thread Alex K
Just a heads up, but as of 10/8/09 Game Editor has been released under a
dual license system. One of the licenses is the GPLv3.

Definitely an interesting program, and oneof the only graphical game
creators for Linux.

[Bug 400928] [NEW] jaunty: Suspend not working due to bug in 01PulseAudio script

2009-07-17 Thread Alex K.
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-power-manager

Suspend only works for usernames shorter than 9 characters:

sleep.d/01PulseAudio tries to get a list of users for whom to suspend
pulse by calling:

get_pulse_users() {
echo $(ps aux | awk '/\/usr\/bin\/pulseaudio --start/ {print $1}')
}

However, ps aux will retunr the UID instead of username for usernames longer
than 8 characters.
This leads to an error when the script tries to sudo to each respective user
later on:

for i in $(get_pulse_users); doit
sudo -H -u $i pactl suspend-sink 1 /dev/null
sudo -H -u $i pactl suspend-source 1 /dev/null
done

The bug is triggered when any user tries to suspend the system, you can
tell if you're affected by thi bug by searching the logfile

/var/log/pm-suspend.log

for the line:

/usr/lib/pm-utils/sleep.d/01PulseAudio suspend suspend: Returned exit
code 1.

[Bug 314777] Re: Error:file is encrypted or is not a database

2009-02-06 Thread Alex K. Grinko
New version of gnome-rdp uses sqlite 3.x, but database file .gnome-rdp.db (in
user's home) has version 2.x.
You can move file .gnome-rdp.db to .gnome-rdp-2.db and gnome-rdp will work, but
you need to create sessions again.
Can someone tell how can I export data from sqlite database 2.x and import it
to 3.x?
