[Bug 501670] Re: g_set_prgname() called multiple times

2010-01-21 Thread Allen Petersen
Another vote to fix this.

As paper cuts go, this one is like a really nasty one under your
thumbnail. And Ubuntu has figured out that fixing paper cuts is
actually worth doing, right?

[Bug 153195] Re: ksoftirqd/0 always using about 30% cpu time

2008-08-30 Thread Allen Petersen
I've upgraded my system to Hardy (kernel 2.6.24-19) and I no longer see
the problem. I think it was an issue with 2.6.22 only.

[Bug 184822] Re: kernel vga mode setting not working with 2.6.22

2008-02-06 Thread Allen Petersen
I have the same problem and I have seen it on two 7.10 systems. One with
a standard 7.10 install the other is a 7.10 server. I have tried a
number of different vga modes (771, 791, 792, 793) and I get no visible
output during bootup (just a blank screen) but on the standard system X
works fine but CTRL+ALT+F[1-5] gives me a blank screen.

Here is what my grub/menu.list contains.

# defoptions=vga=791

I expect you will see this on any 2.6.22 system but I've only tested it
with the following kernels.

2.6.22-14-generic
2.6.22-14-server

If I add 'splash' to the defoptions I get output. On my server system I
don't want the splash screen but I would like a higher video resolution
like 1024x768.
