[Bug 1753070] Re: Cannot restore default alert sound (Ubuntu bell)

2019-01-28 Thread Ame Nomade
This bug is there for years, in fact for as long as I remember seeing
this software around (so, maybe 10 years on Ubuntu?). It bothered me a
lot (like a scratch on a brand new car or high tech device), and I
always thought "well it's an obvious bug, it will be fixed soon, as
everyone else will notice it and will be bothered by it (so that they
will report it)".

Well it turns out that nobody cares, because it's been 10 years and I
could never find a solution over the internet.

Up to today, I just found one: to set the default sound back, you need
"dconf" and in "/org/gnome/desktop/sound/theme-name" you right-click and
select "set to default value" (which appears to be "ubuntu" on Ubuntu).
And voilà!

---

What the bug really consists of, is that in "gnome-control-center" when
selecting "default" for the sound event, it does not set the default
value, but it sets "freedesktop" (which probably in some cases might be
right, but generally is not, like on Ubuntu).

[Bug 1769380] [NEW] gnome-disk-utility translation issue in French

2018-05-05 Thread Ame Nomade
Public bug reported:

In Ubuntu 18.04 in gnome-disk-utility 3.28.1,

The menu on a partition says in English:
-"Edit Partition Type"
-"Edit Filesystem Label"

In French, the translation is just wrong:
-"Modifier la partition" NO
-"Modifier le système de fichier" NO

It SHOULD be:
-"Modifier le système de fichier" YES
-"Modifier le nom de la partition" YES

Thank you to correct that soon, it's kind of a big deal.
The bug was there before, I just didn't reported it.

[Bug 1745126] Re: Let's Encrypt has permanently disabled TLS-SNI challenge. Package not compatible any more with LE

2018-03-08 Thread Ame Nomade
So, yes the package is broken right now, as its first purpose is to
obtain a certificate.

And as explained here:
https://community.letsencrypt.org/t/important-what-you-need-to-know-about-tls-sni-validation-issues/50811
"Renewals will continue to work with TLS-SNI", and yes it's still working.

But it seems that the next LTS Bionic is already up-to-date, with the
direct use of "certbot 0.21" as requested (it's right now the 0.21.1-1):
https://packages.ubuntu.com/bionic/letsencrypt

So, maybe it's time to switch manually to "certbot", or wait for
Bionic... and switch to "certbot"!

[Bug 1146357] [NEW] Recently opened folders always opens the last folder

2013-03-05 Thread Ame Nomade
Public bug reported:

When we open the list of Recently opened folders, we see all the last
folders, but when we click one, it loads always the last one opened, not
the selected one.

It should open the folder we click on.

[Bug 967255] Re: [Precise] Scrolling is slow

2012-06-14 Thread Ame Nomade
This is not an issue with Geany, it's due to Unity 3D. Because there's no lag
at all in Unity 2D.
This bug started with Ubuntu 11.04 if I remember, or maybe Ubuntu 10.10. Seen
on Ubuntu 64 bits.
It's not linked to the size of the file edited.
It's not linked to the number of opened files (from 1 to ~30).
It's not linked to the graphic card (NVidia or ATI) or driver.
It's very hard to obtain at the start of a session, but when you work a whole
day with other softwares opened (Google Chrome : GMail in a tab, LastFM playing
in a tab or YouTube playing a playlist, Rhythmbox, Gimp, etc.), it's lagging
95% of the time.
Seen on 6 different Ubuntu computers (100%).

Yes I also think that it's linked with Compiz, and I didn't know that
you could run Compiz over Unity 2D.

[Bug 875262] Re: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626+lfs/sqlite.so'

2011-10-26 Thread Ame Nomade
Hello guys, please note that this is a big concern when using Zend Framework
with Zend_Cache and the Sqlite Backend (Zend_Cache_Backend_Sqlite), as it rely
on sqlite.so, not sqlite3.so
A temporary fix can be done by copying the old file (from another similar
computer) to the same place on the updated computer :
/usr/lib/php5/20090626/sqlite.so , this is working.

[Bug 808518] Re: Maximised window clipped by unity launcher

2011-07-20 Thread Ame Nomade
The launcher which never hides is achieved in gconf by setting the key
desktop/unity-2d/launcher/hide_mode to the value 0.

( @fboucault: you can try the value 1 for auto hide, 2 for dodge
windows, or 3 for dodge active window, as seen in CompizConfig/Unity
).

Having said that, the bug is already clearly explained: maximised
windows have the same size in this hide mode than the screen, so we
can't see the part under the launcher. Really anoying.

I hope you can fix it.

[Bug 760814] Re: Compiz Very Slow and Choppy in Natty Classic

2011-05-01 Thread Ame Nomade
Same problem here with a Radeon HD 4770. And I just solved it, like
eundas, in OpenGL plugin in the CompizConfig Settings Manager : when
disabling vsync.

And trust me, the problem is solved but the vsync is not disabled. In
fact it seems that this vsync option was over another one, the driver
one (set in amdcccle), and the both resulting in a very slow display,
even slower than a picture out of two.
