[Bug 1281053] [NEW] Unity application panel does not appear with mirrored screens on Intel graphics
Public bug reported: My setup I'm using Ubuntu 13.10 on a HP TM2 with hybrid graphics (vga- switcheroo): - integrated card: 00:02.0 VGA compatible controller: Intel Corporation Core Processor Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 02) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) - discrete card: 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Park [Mobility Radeon HD 5430/5450/5470] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Problem === I need to work using a mirrored screen setup, with an external screen connected to VGA (resolution: 1024x768). When using the integrated intel card the application/search panel does not appear when I click on the launcher icon or press the keyboard shortcut: there is just a slight shadow on the top left corner (see attached screenshot). However, if I switch to the discrete card (AMD/ATI) I have no problems at all (panel shows up in mirrored mode). In non-mirrored mode the panel shows up using both cards and works correctly on both screens. [Bug 1281053] Re: Unity application panel does not appear with mirrored screens on Intel graphics
I found out that if this problem only happens if, prior to setting screens in mirrored mode, the panel is moved on the external screen, i.e 1. Connect external screen 2. In the display configuration tool enable screen and move unity panel to external screen 3. Select mirrored screen 4. Bug: application panel does not appear when icon is clicked but 1. Connect external screen 2. In the display configuration tool ensure that the panel is on the laptop screen 3. Select mirrored screen 4. [Bug 13199] Re: Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky
About the Cannot extract archives in a remote folder foldername on drag and drop... I've looked at the code and, to me, it seems that developers have forgotten to remove a test that prevented extraction to a remote folder in the previous versions, when this was not possible. As now they added support for remote extraction via gnome-vfs ***, I don't think the error message is necessary. so... I've attached a patch against file-roller 2.19.91 (it just deletes the if condition for non local uris in the dnd extraction) I don't have much time now, please test it :) *** see http://live.gnome.org/TwoPointNineteen/ReleaseNotes , Uses gnome-vfs to load and save remote archives, as well as to add remote files to an archive and to extract to remote locations. USED. ** Attachment added: file-roller 2.19.91 patch (remove error on extract to remote location by dnd) http://launchpadlibrarian.net/9197788/remote-dnd-fix.patch -- Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/13199 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 13199] Re: Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky
I've just posted a patch against nautilus 2.18.1 on gnome bugzilla that adds XdndDirectSave support. The code is adapted from Thunar 0.8.0 (Benedikt Meurer). see http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=171655 Unfortunately I currently do not have a Gutsy install... so if somebody can verify if this patch works against nautilus 2.19.xx it would be great :) -- Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/13199 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 13199] Re: Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky
To Paco Avila: Why not wait until implementing this protocol it the others apps : development must start somewhere... what if nautilus implemented it but nothing used it? Wouldn't it be the same situation? Instead of just criticizing people about what they can afford to do or not do for FREE (software), why don't you start to contribute actively or just limit yourself to somewhat more constructive critiques? Thunar implements it. : if you like it, use it!... but then don't go on the thunar bugs page and file bugs just because there are features that nautilus implements and thunar not. To VF: Now it's not completely broken... thanks to developers, it's halfway fixed, and we can expect a complete fix for the next release. If you think it's so easy to fix, that it's just a problem of motivation, why don't you fix it yourself? Or propose a bounty for that? -- Drag n' Drop directories from File-Roller is somewhat tricky https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/13199 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is a direct subscriber. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 49201] Re: Un-necessary decoding of uncompressed WAV files
If I understood correctly... cdda uses the same PCM encoding as WAV, so the conversion is just a matter of dropping the headers (if the wav is 44.1KHz, Stereo). [Bug 62660] File Chooser: changing the path in the location bar does not update list view
Public bug reported: (problem in edgy) In the file chooser, changing the location using the location/address bar does not update the list. for example, if I want to select a file located in /usr/lib/jvm : - with the old (dapper) file dialog I would press CTRL+L, type /usr/lib/jvm, press Enter (the list view gets updated to the path I've chosen) and then choose the file by browsing the list. - with the new (edgy) file dialog, if I type /usr/lib/jvm in the address bar and then press Enter, the open button gets clicked (so to open the file, without entering the whole path including the filename in the address bar, I'm forced to navigate in the file list) ** Affects: gtk+2.0 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: Unconfirmed -- File Chooser: changing the path in the location bar does not update list view https://launchpad.net/bugs/62660 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
