[Bug 627093] Re: dblatex fails to use native image size in pdf export

2011-12-06 Thread Andreas Hoenen
According to my understanding this is a problem of the used image:

$ identify -verbose logo.png | egrep 'Geometry|Resolution'
identify -verbose logo.png | egrep 'Geometry|Resolution'
  Geometry: 64x64
  Resolution: 2.83x2.83 pixels/centimeter

This means a 22 cm image. Probably you will like to change the image
resolution to a more approppriate value, e.g.:

convert -density 100 logo.png logo_adapted.png

Regards, Andreas

[Bug 156357] Re: Fails to compile validated XML

2010-01-26 Thread Andreas Hoenen
Thanks for the information. After downloading the branch, I have been
able to produce the english pdf with Debian dblatex 0.2.12-3 out of the
box without any problems, e.g. the images are embedded into the pdf:

./make_docbook instructor
cd build/xml/en/
dblatex desktop-course-book.xml

Your adaptions work, too:
dblatex -p ../../../lib/dblatex.xsl desktop-course-book.xml

(Note that there are problems left with russian respectively romanian:
one has to use dblatex with the XeTeX backend, and I have just
discovered that the DocBook caution elements you use break with TeX
Live 2009 XeTeX — this will be fixed soon.)

I'm not able to try it with Ubuntu dblatex version 0.2.12-2, since I
have Debian installed here and already have migrated to TeX Live 2009.
But it should work with a recent Ubuntu version, too.

Which toolchain (FOP or dblatex) produces prettier results is a matter
of taste of course…

Anyway, if someone could retest on Ubuntu officially and close this
report when indicated, this would be fine.

[Bug 225083] Re: Error compiling docbook in pt-br with dblatex

2010-01-21 Thread Andreas Hoenen
Hi Augusto,

would you mind to retest? I think this has been fixed with dblatex
0.2.8

[Bug 156357] Re: Fails to compile validated XML

2010-01-21 Thread Andreas Hoenen
With the images missing in this report there isn't any chance to analyze
this... (The attached document is handled well by dblatex without the
images, of course with corresponding warnings.)
