[Bug 1969849] Re: Evolution crashes when viewing certain emails

2022-04-24 Thread Andreas Olsson
For me it helped upgrading to Evolution version 3.44.0-1ubuntu1, which
currently resides in jammy-proposed.

Whenever I view an email which previously crashed Evolution I still get
the "Cannot find handler for scheme 'evo-https'" message in the
terminal. Except that Evolution doesn't crash, and I get to actually
read the email in question.

Well, the user switching can also apply to writing to user specific
bayes databases, even if that too can be solved in other ways.

Anyway, I'm not in any position to make any decisions here, I just
wanted to provide a bit of context while doing initial bug triage.

Taking a cue from https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1166199 I
worked around the issue by adding the following to my

Yet I imagine that the real solution is something more general.

[Bug 1426711] Re: ibutils InfiniBand network utilities package has a missing dependancy in Ubuntu 14.10

2015-02-28 Thread Andreas Olsson
Yepp, I can confirm that ibutils 1.5.7-3 breaks in Ubuntu 14.10, since
it links against no-longer-provided libosmvendor.so.3.

The Ubuntu 14.10 version of libopensm5 (3.3.18-1) instead provide
libosmvendor.so.4. Making a non-change rebuild against an Ubuntu 14.10
environment makes ibutils link up properly.

The reason for this not being an issue in Ubuntu 15.04 is because its
1.5.7-3build1 verison is the needed rebuild.

@Andreas: In case you want/can test the Ubuntu 14.10 rebuild against
actual InfiniBand hardware you can add the
https://launchpad.net/~andol/+archive/ubuntu/ibutils PPA. Either that,
or directly grab these two debs:
https://launchpad.net/~andol/+archive/ubuntu/ibutils/+build/7020816/+files/ibutils_1.5.7-3build0.1%7Eppa_amd64.deb,
https://launchpad.net/~andol/+archive/ubuntu/ibutils/+build/7020816/+files/libibdm1_1.5.7-3build0.1%7Eppa_amd64.deb

[Bug 1406840] Re: sshfs cannot handle passwords longer than 64 characters from stdin

2015-01-01 Thread Andreas Olsson
I can confirm this with Vivid's sshfs version 2.5-1ubuntu1. Well, except
for the detail that the problem didn't appear to be with passwords
longer than 64 characters, but rather with passwords 64 characters
(inclusive) or longer.

Not sure whatever to categorize it as a bug or not, given that the
program strictly speaking is behaving as intended, even if I agree that
it appear to be arbitrary.

My suggestion is to bring the case up with upstream. According to
http://fuse.sourceforge.net/sshfs.html the suggested method is to send
an e-mail to fuse-ss...@lists.sourceforge.net.

Public bug reported:

For the wireless network to work on my Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Laptop I need
blacklist/rmmod the ideapad_laptop kernel module. With the
ideapad_laptop module loaded there is no wlan0 (or other wifi device)
present.

Booting without any explicit blacklist config the ideapad_laptop kernel
module gets loaded, and there are no wlan0 device present. Running rmmod
on the module results in the wlan0 device becoming present, and
NetworkManager being able to connect to a local wifi network. Here is
the dmesg output after the rmmod command.

[Bug 1324095] Re: ideapad_laptop kernel module breaks wireless on Lenovo Yoga 2 Pro Laptop

2014-05-28 Thread Andreas Olsson
As mentioned in bug #1318038, booting the upstream kernel

image-3.15.0-031500rc5-generic_3.15.0-031500rc5.201405091635_amd64.deb

[Bug 1302812] Re: Explicit identity files are being used after implicit files are attempted

2014-04-04 Thread Andreas Olsson
It's an explicit behavior of the openssh client to try keys provided by
the ssh agent. If you don't want this behavior you can set the
IdentitiesOnly ssh config option.

I would assume that what is happening here is that you are using the
gnome-keyring as your ssh agent? From what I can see it automatically
adds any key it can find under ~/.ssh/.

(Not that I have much of an opinion either way in regards to whatever
there is a bug anywhere or not.)

[Bug 1286196] Re: puppet incompatible with 14.04 packet mechanism

2014-02-28 Thread Andreas Olsson
I can confirm this issue running the Ubuntu 14.04 puppet 3.4.2-1
verison.

This appearing to be related to the upstream bug
https://tickets.puppetlabs.com/browse/PUP-337, except that I disagree
about the fix version.

Under Ubuntu 12.04, where I run the puppetlabs puppet packages the
problem went away when upgrading from Puppet 3.4.2-1puppetlabs1 to
Puppet 3.4.3-1puppetlabs1.

Under Ubuntu 14.04 the problem likewise went away upgrading from Puppet
3.4.2-1 to Puppet 3.4.3-1, with the later version being manually taken
from Debian Sid.

The easiest fix here is probalby making sure that Ubuntu 14.04 too gets
Puppet 3.4.3-1 before release.

For this I would like to request a Feature Freeze exception, to fix Bug

While the bug in question is harmless in itself the bug is relativity
visable and ugly. Also, this being an Upstream microrelease change
ought to place the sync square in the bug fix category.

[Bug 1282203] Re: gnome-terminal not respecting Enable menu access keys setting

Yepp, that time line sounds about right to me too.

Given that gnome-terminal 3.6.2-0ubuntu1 is from the 16th of December I
would assume then that the issue is due to some gnome/unity change.

Also, when running gnome-terminal under Xfce the Enable menu access
keys (such as Alt+F to open the File menu) setting still works as
expected.

[Bug 1282203] [NEW] gnome-terminal not respecting Enable menu access keys setting

2014-02-19 Thread Andreas Olsson
Public bug reported:

Under Edit -- Keyboard Shortcuts.. there is a checkbox for Enable menu
access keys (such as Alt+F to open the File menu).

That checkbox appear to have no affect what so ever. No matter whatever
I have it checked or not I still get the same behavior, that menu access
keys are enabled.

This being a problem since I'd much rather not have the menu get in the
way of my readline/emacs bindings.

[Bug 1196253] Re: can't install nautilus-dropbox: GpgmeError: Invalid crypto engine

2013-07-03 Thread Andreas Olsson
...except that both Ubuntu 13.04 and Ubuntu 13.10 uses python-gpgme
0.3-0ubuntu1 0

Instead I took at look at libgpgme11.

Downgrading libgpgme11 from the current Ubuntu 13.10 version
1.4.2-0.1ubuntu2 to the Ubuntu 13.04 verison 1.2.0-1.4ubuntu4 did the
trick, and allowed Dropbox to verify its downloaded binary without
complaining.

[Bug 1196253] Re: can't install nautilus-dropbox: GpgmeError: Invalid crypto engine

2013-07-03 Thread Andreas Olsson
Just experienced this myself, on my recently reinstalled Ubuntu 13.10
amd64 system. When I then tried the Dropbox package from the Dropbox
website, of verison 1.6.0, I'm getting exact python-gpgme error on
trying to verify the downloaded binary.

Possibly that this might be a python-gpgme bug instead, or that the
Dropbox people have changed their download binary in some fashion.

(Removing psimedia ought to make psi not segfault. Of course, that might
not be much of a comfort in case you actually need to use psimedia.)
