[Bug 1645325] [NEW] audacious tracklist staying focused
Public bug reported: When using audacious, tracklist window should stay focused / on top z-index when you drag and drop a track into it. This is, for example, default behavior on Winamp on Windows, but doesn't happen on Audacious on Ubuntu. I think it is extremely handy to happen. Current behavior is, when you drag the track from a Nautilus window, it gets focused and it overlaps and hides the tracklist window, making it necessary to manually put them in non-overlapping places. I reported this to audacious developers and they pointed out that although it is a good idea, there is nothing they can do, and I should report it as a file manager bug/feature request. Thank you. I have had this problem for a long while both on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS and Ubuntu 11.04. [Bug 460733] Re: Transmission BitTorrent doesn't honor speed limitation preferences
I don't get why this bug is marked as invalid. At this moment transmission neither honours the regular nor alternative speed limits. And it's not about fine-tuning, either. As you can see in the attached screencast the actual download rate is so far off from the configured setting that this has to be a bug. [Bug 969860] Re: fglrx uses 100% CPU when screen turns off (spinning in glXWaitVideoSyncSGI or glXSwapBuffers)
Just a small heads-up: Activating Force full screen redraw (buffer swap) on repaint caused a significant increase in CPU load with regular usage on my system. [Bug 607560] Re: jbd2 writing block every 5 - 10 seconds, preventing disk spin-down and making noise
I used Eugenel's debugging method nr. 2 (find) and correlated it to the iotop outputs. The attached file includes listings of the recorded hard drive activity both while idling and while having Google Chrome open. I think I may have identified the culprit in my case. What's common to all entries is hard drive writing activity in /dev/ati/card0. if you look at the last intervall (15:25:30-15:26:40) you'll find that it's the only recorded change. Thus we can assume that most of the jbd2 I/O activity in the previous intervalls can be attributed to the same location. Two questions: 1.) Any idea why I can't access /home/ari/.gvfs despite being in a root shell? 2.) Does anyone know what /dev/ati/card0 is used for? Can't open the file with gedit. [Bug 1001405] [NEW] on startup-ed pidgin's window does not restore
Public bug reported: I have set Pidgin to start on login (startup app). [Bug 672732] [NEW] [Realtek ALC663] No sound from external speakers
Public bug reported: I can play sound from the pc (laptop: ASUS G50VT) speaker but not from the external speakers. They work in Vista, though. I have checked and tried everything but nothing works. Until I tried to tweak with HDA Analyzer, and found by luck, that by going to Node[0x0c] AUD_MIX and unticking Mute from Val[0] and Val[1] make my external speakers work. But I can't make that option permanent (every time I reboot I need to run HDA Analyzer again). Please, tell me a way to make this setting permanent, or try to fix that bug (as I found the solution, all you have to do is make it permanent and release it ;). [Bug 626296] [NEW] Keyboard layout indicator cannot be removed
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: gnome-panel Hello. I have added a second keyboard layout to my system, and since then, a keyboard layout indicator has appeared on the system tray. Since I want to be able to change between keyboard layouts only with a key combination I have set (Alt+Shift), I don't want the current layout being shown on the system tray. However, there is no way to remove that indicator from the tray (left click just switches between layouts and right click does not provide an option for removing that indicator from the panel). So, it would be really nice if an option for removing that indicator, would be added. Thanks a lot, in advance. [Bug 599755] [NEW] Copying files to usb pauses after each one being copied.
Public bug reported: I am using ubuntu 10.04 x86_64. I'm having a certain problem while copying from my internal HDD (ext4) to usb stick (fat32). At first I get a fair speed (15-20MB/s) for the first half of the file and then it slows down but not significantly or in an annoying way... The actual problem and my question is that when file transfer window informs me that 100% has been transfered and 0 seconds remain, the window remains there for about 30 seconds, depending on the size of the file, and it won't let me safely remove my usb stick when i try to. I also realized that when copying multiple files, copying is paused after each file being copied. For example, if I try to copy three files 100 MB each, so 300MB max, I get the first 100MB transfered normally (as the window informs me) then a pause like nothing is going on, after approximately 20-30 seconds it continues normally to second file, pause after that and finally i get the third copied and pause again, before the nautilus window with the transfer bar goes away. System is fully functional during this time but it seems to me that a task is being done to the background, like OS is verifying copied data, or something like that, because the time of this pause varies according to filesize. I've been using same usb flash drives with several OS, including previous ubuntu releases, on same machine, so I think it's not hardware problem. I also believe that it's not the effect from caching files before actually copy them to unit, as I don't encounter same behavior to other external storage devices. ** Affects: ubuntu Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Copying files to usb pauses after each one being copied. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/599755 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 363872] [NEW] Unable to activate driver
Public bug reported: Hello. $ lspci | grep nVidia 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation NV31M [GeForce FX Go5650] (rev a1) I just upgraded to Jaunty RC. At my first boot, I was forced to use low-graphics mode. I, then, rebooted in recovery mode and selected the xfix option. That worked, as after a reboot, my normal screen resolution was in use. But I was suddenly using the nv, open source driver, instead of the proprietary one (I was using at Intrepid). I tried to open System - Administration - Hardware Drivers (jockey-gtk) and saw 2 options (the same I was seeing when I was using Intrepid): nVidia 173 driver [Recommended], and nVidia 96 driver. (Note that after the upgrade to Intrepid I had to switch to the 173 driver, from the nvidia-glx-new, due to some serious Xorg changes). I clicked on the first choice and hit Activate. I, then, saw a small untitled window saying Downloading and Installing the driver and a gauge, that finally reached 100%. Then, that small untitled window was closed. But, the driver was still not activated. I also noticed that if I follow the procedure I described above, and then reboot, I get the low-graphics mode, again (I don't get that if I reboot without following the above procedure). That makes me think that the driver gets partially installed, for some reason. Looking forward to a soon answer/fix, ;-) and thanks, in advance. [Bug 249283] Re: Workspace Applet should display workspaces without affecting them
I agree but maybe there should be an option to display the workspaces in rows or columns without affecting them in any other way. As it is, I can't use it, because I would miss the cube of compiz, Expo displays them vertically (thus not taking advantage of my wide-screen) and to have the spaces in columns instead of rows doesn't make sense in a vertical panel configuration. -- Workspace Applet should display workspaces without affecting them https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/249283 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
