[Bug 967008] Re: Alt-^ for switching windows does not work
Good catch. Of course it's Alt, not Ctrl in the description above. Fixed. It's Alt-^ (the key above the tabulator) in German Keyboard Layout. That used to work in oneiric, but not in precise. [Bug 967008] Re: Alt-^ for switching windows does not work
Does not seem to be related to 965921, I checked the switch-group keybinding in dconf-editor (as shown in http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=1933323) and it is set to the default 'AltAbove_Tab'. Setting it to Alt^ does not help either, setting it to 'Alta' or 'SuperTab' works though. So it might be an issue with the Above_Tab key. The key works fine in applications though. [Bug 848198] Re: Sporadic gconf error messages
I've created a PPA with a fixed package (all four patches applied), it fixes the gnome-shell issue for me. https://launchpad.net/~berni/+archive/ppa Use at your own risk, there is at least one other package for oneiric in there (multi-arch libxp). Download the packages manually and/or remove the repository after you have upgraded. There is also an updated gconf version in the semi-official gnome-shell PPA at https://launchpad.net/~ricotz/+archive/testing , you might want to use that instead. [Bug 704812] Re: [natty] broken IPv6 default route
Sorry for the delay, here is the promised debug log. I can still easily reproduce this problem. 1) Set IPv6 to auto instead of ignore 2) connect to a (wireless?) network where IPv6 RA works fine (the client gets an autoconfed address and route), but DHCPv4 fails to answer in time (shutdown the server) 3) after DHCPv4 timeout nm disconnects 4) reconnect to the same network using nm-applet 5) this time make sure DHCPv4 works (start the server again) 6) on successful connect you have two IPv6 default routes, one pointing to the LL next-hop from RA (correct) and one pointing to the interface without nexthop (wrong) It does not happen when a) the first connection attempt already succeeded b) IPv6 is set to ignore in the connection profile Since nm is still not flushing the IPv6 address when the interface goes down I assume it is recording the list of routes present before step 4 (which includes the correct nexthop to the router) and attempts to readd them after step 5, but fails to set the next hop correctly. Interesting side effect, I have to delete the wrong route three times before it is finally gone. It looks like nm is readding it immediately, but I don't see anything in the debug log. I could not find the debug category where it shows adding routes at all. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/704812 Title: [natty] broken IPv6 default route -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Re: [Bug 417757] Re: [karmic regression] all network apps / browsers suffer from multi-second delays by default due to IPv6 DNS lookups
Pessimistic estimates say that the problem we suspect (a DNS proxy that cannot handle queries) affects about 0.5% of the global userbase. 50% of those can easily be fixed with a firmware upgrade of their router, which is usually a very good idea anyway. I'm sure there are regions with higher rates if a large provider gave out broken systems, but generally saying that all Ubuntu 9.10 installations are affected and everyone has to purchase new routers is pure FUD. For the record, this bug can easily be tested with the following tools $ time dig -t a noc.sixxs.net +nofail | grep -e status -e A -e time ;; -HEADER- opcode: QUERY, status: NOERROR, id: 26324 ;; flags: qr rd ra; QUERY: 1, ANSWER: 1, AUTHORITY: 3, ADDITIONAL: 0 ;noc.sixxs.net. [Bug 417757] Re: [karmic regression] all network apps / browsers suffer from multi-second delays by default due to IPv6 DNS lookups
I strongly disagree, breaking IPv6 globally just because some people sit on broken resolvers is extremely bad. I suspect the IPv6 users group is at least as big as the one sitting on broken resolvers, and while the IPv6 group is getting larger every day the broken resolvers group should stagnate or even get smaller. Earlier Ubuntu versions had a patched libc6 that disabled lookups for AF_UNSPEC _IF_ no global IPv6 addresses were configured on the system. This could be a way forward and would be in line what Windows is doing today. -- [karmic regression] all network apps / browsers suffer from multi-second delays by default due to IPv6 DNS lookups https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/417757 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
