I have exactly the same problem on my ASUS EeePC 1201T running Xubuntu
14.04 32 bit, screen locking disabled. As a crude workaround going to
the console fixes the problem (so e.g. CTRL+ALT+F1; CTRL+ALT+F7 and the
mouse cursor is visible again)

The moment I booted alpha 2 the fan started working at full speed,
within ten minutes the computer overheated so much that it did an
emergency shutdown. In that time I managed to open a few apps, but
nothing overusing the CPU (Libreoffice, banshee). It took almost an hour
for the computer to cool enough for it to boot again. I never had such
problems with 10.10.

The specific hardware in question is Asus Eee PC 1201T (running AMD
vision platform). I cannot try cds as it's a netbook, but usbs made with
pendrive linux or unetbootin work. But USB creator run under windows 7
results in a drive that does not boot.

But the problem appears in the WINDOWS usb creator to be found on the
Ubuntu Netbook Edition cd, not the Linux one, so running anything from
the terminal on this is rather out of the question.

I think that the problem is not that EULA gets displayed, but that it is
a part of an application that gets installed with Ubuntu without any
choice for the user. This would not be so problematic is the installer
allowed the user to choose which applications to install, this way (not
to mention a zillion other benefits) a user who dislikes such things
would just choose not to install Firefox.
