Had the same problem. Even after first running gkksudo nvidia-settings. it couldn't write to xorg.conf . Installed the binary install file form nvidias website which compiled and worked around the issue. -- OK, the envy thing gets it back to where it was in 8.10, one big desktop across two screens. I don't know that it will survive a reboot because I can't save the configuration. Of course, Ubuntu can run for months without rebooting. There is a button to save it, but it won't let you unless you are root, and to become root you have to call the thing from a terminal with the gksudo (whatever it is called) command and I don't know what it is called. NVIDIA X Server Settings is the title bar, but I doubt that is really it. If I try that I just get this: p...@pete-desktop:~$ gksudo NVIDIA X Server Settings p...@pete-desktop:~$ It asks for the password in between, but the NVIDIA X Server Settings doesn't open. [Bug 136844] Re: FretsOnFire.py crashed with ArgumentError in SetViewport()
the problem are missing song lists on the 32bit under the games/data directory. Extracting the files necessary from the tar file available at sourceforge, and adding in the location of /usr/share/games/fretsonfire/ directory, remedied the issue. ** Attachment added: fretsonfire.png http://launchpadlibrarian.net/10224268/fretsonfire.png -- FretsOnFire.py crashed with ArgumentError in SetViewport() https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/136844 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 157300] Alsa Sound with AC97 Chipset Tends to have problems with multiple apps accessing sound.
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: hal-info For instance I will be using a website which has embedded flash on it. listening to a stream. Then launch something like Warsaw. While playing the game, the audio cuts out, and the stream I was listening to also stops. With in minutes of possibly a new game starts, the audio in the game begins, and the audio plays, but again fails back off. I can then exit the game and attempt viewing another website stream, the audio doesn't seem to be playing, though it indicates it is. Restarting my session, resolves it until I again try to run multiple sources of output. Re: [Bug 90649] Re: Auto Update
What I did to resolve it, was run apt-get upgrade, which then after updating, resolved the problem from the gui.
