[Bug 108896] Re: "net.ipv4.conf.default.forwarding=1" doesn't work

2007-12-11 Thread Cédric Bouvier
I'm running Gutsy, and have the very same problem. What is misleading is
the comment in /etc/sysctl.conf:

   # Uncomment the next line to enable packet forwarding for IPv4
   net.ipv4.conf.default.forwarding = 1

Uncomment it as I may, packet forwarding bloody well isn't enabled after
reboot. Has it got something to do with the way may network interfaces
are configured? Even so, I consider that the comments in
/etc/sysctl.conf should be more helpful for non-sysadmins. A link to a
somewhat helpful manpage would have done. What's the difference between
net.ipv4.conf.all.forwarding and net.ipv4.conf.default.forwarding
anyway?

[Bug 145792] gkrellm without imaps pops support

2007-09-27 Thread Cédric Bouvier
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gkrellm

The mail checker normally features the ability to query mail boxes over
imaps or pops (imap4 or pop3 over SSL). When setting up a mailbox,
there's a check box to "Use SSL". This is not the case in the current
Ubuntu build (2.2.9, Kubuntu 7.04, i386). All it takes to bring SSL
support back in is to recompile the gkrellm package after installing
openssl-devel. A missing dependancy?

Thanks in advance.

** Affects: gkrellm (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

Sorry, it's libssl-dev, not openssl-devel.
