[Bug 494002] Re: [hardy] Failing to connect to MSN with 'protocol is not supported' error

2009-12-23 Thread Ceriak
Same here. Should be fixed, hence it became unusable long after release.
LTS anyway, isn’t it?

*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 99740 ***

I have the same problem, but I haven’t noticed the relation with updates.
Also, I think this is not a duplicate of #99740, at least the reporter does not
mention loose of control, I can return to normal screen by entering and then
leaving real full screen mode (i. e. pressing F11 twice).

[Bug 307240] [NEW] Can’t touch root’s files without using CLI

2008-12-11 Thread Ceriak
Public bug reported:

As I see a lot of people miss the feature to conveniently handle files owned by
the root without opening up a terminal and type in sudo.
Eg. I want to see a file for which I don’t have permission, then I would like
to navigate to its folder with Nautilus and then when after a doubleclick I’m
prompt that I have no permission to open the file, there would be an option to
unlock it as I can do with the administration tools.
Similarly, if open a file with Gedit, when I try to save my modifications I get
a yellow stripe explaining that I can’t do so. That could include such a button
to pop up a conversation window to enter the root password and get the
appropriate rights.

[Bug 176572] Symlinked template generates symlink

2007-12-15 Thread Ceriak
Public bug reported:

I have my template files on different partitions, so I decided to fill
~/Templates with symbolic links pointing to them. But I found that if I try to
create a new file based on one of them, the file becomes a symlink too.
Since I cannot see any use case for this, I think it would be more practical
not to simply copy the files, but create a new one based on the contents and
their names.
