[Bug 1961048] Re: pcmanfm-qt ugly dithering on mouseover highlights
I'm using only lxqt-panel here, Not the old lxpanel application. Issue isn't with lxqt-panel as the popups on taskbar work fine. Whats strange here is that after the upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04, everything was working fine including the transparency / selection background in the . I did change my Login session to lxqt-session. Then once I ran "apt dist-upgrade" it left the system in this state so I doubt the issue was with the initial upgrade from 18.04 to 20.04. I will try making a fresh VM with 20.04 in it but that will have only VGA or QXL graphics card unlike my hardware Intel HD Graphics 610 GPU. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1961048 Title: pcmanfm-qt ugly dithering on mouseover highlights To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcmanfm-qt/+bug/1961048/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1961048] Re: pcmanfm-qt ugly dithering on mouseover highlights
I can also confirm seeing the dithering or missing pixels in Google chrome stable (from google repo) when hovering over an image. The title popup shows this same issue. So its likely an issue with X.Org or some X11 library. Seems to occur in both QT & GTK apps. However custom rendered popups like the LX Panel taskbar and chrome tabs do not show this issue -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1961048 Title: pcmanfm-qt ugly dithering on mouseover highlights To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pcmanfm-qt/+bug/1961048/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1961048] [NEW] pcmanfm-qt ugly dithering on mouseover highlights
Public bug reported: I have noticed this issue with pcmanfm-qt only so far. All was working fine when I upgraded from 18.04 to 20.04 about 2 weeks back. About 3 days back I ran: apt-get dist-upgrade And since then I've noticed this issue. Let me know if I should downgrade and hold back any packages for X11 etc. I am not using wayland mode, only pure Xorg. [Bug 994383] Re: icoutils wrestool takes up all remaining ram
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 614918 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/614918 I would like to add some information to this bug report. I had a similar issue recently but one critical thing I noticed was that the issue didn't seem to be because of winderz .exe files themselves. My root partition had become full (0 disk space free) & during that time it is possible there is a race condition in wrestool that causes it to keep trying to create thumbnails files and fail due to no free space. During that time wrestool was using more than 1GB RAM for each instance, but CPU use wasn't too high. I deleted the files and haven't encountered the issue ever since again. Unfortunately I don't have any trace/debug reports at hand of the event. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994383 Title: icoutils wrestool takes up all remaining ram To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/icoutils/+bug/994383/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 996501] Re: Keyboard not working in lenovo s-10 3c
Unlike windows , in linux the default user account , in your case "prakriti" is not an administrator. So as Christopher mentioned quite clearly in his post above - "After saving the file execute via the Terminal: sudo update-grub" Only if you run the command by prefixing "sudo" or "gksudo" before it will you be able to get the permissions to change files owned by the "root" user. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/996501 Title: Keyboard not working in lenovo s-10 3c To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/996501/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 996501] Re: Keyboard not working in lenovo s-10 3c
Would like to point out an errata above. You can set GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT and it will work, but it is actually better to set GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi=off noapic" Since that will enable the keyboard for recovery mode also.
I can confirm that upto kernel 3.1 the bios "bug" in Lenovo s10-3c will make the keyboard to NOT work if ACPI is enabled. I doubt if Lenovo bios update will fix the problem since with this model (and perhaps others) , Lenovo supplies only Windows and do not support any Linux. I tried a few BIOS updates and they didn't fix anything. The only way to get it to work is to edit /etc/default/grub and change the below line - GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="acpi=off noapic" then run update-grub. I had to connect a USB keyboard then i could edit the file above and restart ubuntu. Also, the trackpad works fine whether ACPI is enabled or not. With ACPI disabled the laptop works great under XUbuntu 10.04 for me except I am unable to check the battery level in Ubuntu. And the keyboard works !
[Bug 677633] Re: keyboard doesn't work with acpi on lenovo s10-3c
I can confirm the same bug on my Lenovo S10-3C. The consensus on google is ACPI DSDT problems on this laptop. I tried all kernels upto 2.6.36.1 and still same result no keyboard. I have attached dmesg ACPI related error log in the hope someone is able to upload a custom dsdt which works for this laptop. ** Attachment added: "dmesg-acpi-errors.txt" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/677633/+attachment/1755411/+files/dmesg-acpi-errors.txt -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/677633 Title: keyboard doesn't work with acpi on lenovo s10-3c -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 527709] Re: Pulseaudio input hangs randomly
I would like to add that i faced a similar problem with VLC using --input-slave alsa:// . While dmesg shows no errors , i was getting stuttering audio while recording. Only workaround i found was to launch vlc using the padsp launcher script and using --input-slave oss:// Once i switched to oss emulated input vlc recording was perfect.
