[Bug 1863255] Re: Programs installed in Snap format do not detect the keyboard
I'm on snap 2.47 and chromium does not respond to the keyboard. It is version: Version 86.0.4240.75 (Official Build) snap (64-bit) System info: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS (64-bit) GNOME 3.36.3 with Wayland Why am I on Wayland...? Not sure! I thought I stuck with X... Maybe that's part of the problem. Let me know if there are any other specs that would help. In addition, I have noted many corrupt icons since switching to the snap package. For example, the close button in the upper right that should display as a simple X has some weird shaped whale looking icon attached to the left side of it. When I go to save a file, the system icons I have selected are not display, instead corrupted icons or no icons display. I'm not sure if this is related to the keyboard issue, but they both occurred after upgrading to snap. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1863255 Title: Programs installed in Snap format do not detect the keyboard To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/snapd/+bug/1863255/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1846501] Re: qemu-system-x86 missing ssbd flag in UCA Ocata
>From a users perspective this can be solved simply by not providing updated libvirt/qemu package in the UCA repositories - the versions provided in Xenial are sufficient to run nova, and are also going to get consistent updates during the lifespan of the release. If a newer version is really desired then ideally I would suggest it is pulled from the next LTS release up, rather than one from a non LTS release - the version requirements in openstack for functionality don't change that much between releases, so there's plenty of warning, and again patching of security updates is handled by someone else. Upgrading to Queens is not something that is immediately available to us, and would also require a double bump going via Pike, which I guess may also have its own libvirt/qemu deployments which I fear may have the same bugs. I appreciate that the control plane can be upgraded and use "[upgrade_levels]" to maintain compatability, and the hypervisors could potentially skip Pike (or maintain the held libvirt/qemu packages as I have done for Ocata). My actual aim is to transition to a kolla based deployment, but the ocata image using Ubuntu binaries has the newer qemu and libvirt packages, and so we will be unable to migrate our hypervisors until a later release anyway with this issue. Public bug reported: Specific package version qemu-system-x86==1:2.8+dfsg-3ubuntu2.9~cloud6 Upgrading to Ocata from Newton on Xenial results in a significant upgrade to libvirt (1.3.1 -> 2.5) and qemu (2.5 -> 2.8) Instances created in Newton have access to the SSBD CPU flag in QEMU, however after the upgrade this feature is reported as missing, meaning that live-migrations are not possible. [Bug 1694454] Re: Can't open gnome terminal
dino99: I tried what I said, and GNOME apps launch when logging out fully from each session. So the issue only occurs when two DEs have been logged in (even if the XFCE session is logged out), I assume with the same username. So perhaps GNOME apps think they're launching in XFCE, but since XFCE is closed, they don't launch anywhere. It would appear the workaround for me would be to remote login with a different username. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1694454 Title: Can't open gnome terminal To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1694454/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1694454] Re: Can't open gnome terminal
dino99: I ran deborphan and bleachbit. Nothing major there. The most recent change to this system was the setup of XFCE and XRDP for remote login. If I restart the machine, I can launch the GNOME apps like normal. To replicate the issue, I first have to remote login to XFCE (do something, then log out). Then I physically go to the PC and try to use a GNOME app in the GNOME DE. The XFCE and GNOME sessions use the same username. So it appears the GNOME apps may be getting confused as to which DE to use. But why just the GNOME apps and not everything else? In order to set up the remote desktop, I modified the .xsession file to be this: #!/bin/bash xfce4-session This allows me to log in as the same user on the local and remote sessions. Perhaps this is a bad practice, but it allows me to use my tower PC (in the basement) on my laptop (upstairs). Perhaps this would all work better if I set up a separate user (e.g., in the original username group to access the same files) for remote access instead of using the same username. Still, I imagine if I log out of GNOME, log in remotely with XFCE, log out of XFCE, then log in to GNOME, the issue may still persist. I will try that now.

Running any of the above apps via command / command line with "dbus- launch" in front works. In my situation, the only thing that's different in my setup is the addition of XRDP for remote desktop, which is set to log in to XFCE instead of GNOME to allow the two sessions to continue side-by-side. Also, the docky theme has been removed from the codebase for quite some time now (more than 7 months). [Bug 510934] [NEW] launchers do not show localized icon
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: nautilus Nautilus does not display the icon of a launcher properly. The Desktop Entry Specification (here: http://standards.freedesktop.org/desktop- entry-spec/desktop-entry-spec-1.0.html ) indicates that the Icon key in a .desktop file is of type 'localestring', meaning that the localized icon should be preferred. To observe this, take a .desktop file, set Icon=gtk-cancel, and Icon[locale]=gtk-apply. Nautilus will show the 'gtk-cancel' icon, where gnome-panel will show the 'gtk-apply' icon. using karmic, nautilus 1:2.28.1-0ubuntu3 Sidenote: this seems relevant: https://bugs.edge.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/336679 But, I don't think the resolution of lp:336679 was the correct thing to do, according to the fdo desktop entry spec. ** Affects: nautilus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- launchers do not show localized icon https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/510934 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

How are your multiple monitors set up? What hardware are you using (actually, what drivers, nvidia binary, catalyst, opensource)? I think in all of the different drivers they will allow you to line up where the screen edges are by dragging the monitor and aligning either the bottom or top of the monitor to the other. Re: [Bug 417051] Re: remove evolution dependency
We have already removed Evolution from the dependancy list for do-plugins. This is actually a problem with the distribution packagers. When building do-plugins it is possible to remove the plugins that require external libs (like evolution, the google plugins, etc), so we leave it up to the distro packagers to package these plugins separately. It might take a while for the packagers to do something about this, so in the meantime you can always build from source (it's not that complicated... really) and you won't be required to have evolution. Stop by #gnome-do on irc.freenode.net sometime if you need help obtaining / building the source. Re: [Do-plugins] [Bug 370965] Re: Pidgin plugin starts all new converations in AIM
You'll need to build do-plugins from source. If you are running gnome-do from jaunty's repos, you'll need to branch at an earlier revision, because we made some changes recently eliminating the plugin repository. Branch at rev 586 (bzr branch lp-do -r 586). From there, go into the source directory, and run $ ./autogen.sh --prefix=/usr $ make install At that point, if everything went well, the pidgin plugin should show version 2.0 in Do's plugin preferences window. You'll more than likely need a bunch of extra packages to build do-plugins. apt-get build-dep gnome-do-plugins is a good start. Best advice is to just run autogen and chase dep's :) We have a wiki page here listing some of the dep's (http://do.davebsd.com/wiki/index.php?title=Installing_Do#From_Source). That hasn't been updated for a little while though, so autogen may complain about missing packages. If you need any other help drop by our IRC channel, #gnome-do on freenode and I'll be happy to help. -Chris S On Sat, May 2, 2009 at 4:03 PM, Olek olek.janiszew...@gmail.com wrote: Chris, I'd be happy to test it, could you give me some instructions on how to do that? -- Pidgin plugin starts all new converations in AIM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370965 You received this bug notification because you are a member of GNOME Do Plugins Team, which is subscribed to GNOME Do Plugins. ___ Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~do-plugins Post to : do-plug...@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~do-plugins More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp -- Pidgin plugin starts all new converations in AIM https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/370965 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hi all, It turns out this is related to internationalization in a Tkinter call. A small change has been made to PyRAF so that this crash no longer occurs. I am not sure who at STSCI originally fielded the Nicolas' call. However, PyRAF users (on any OS) should be aware that running tasks such as implot, splot, etc, which rely on terminal character input, will be affected by LC_LANG and specifically (in this case) LC_NUMERIC. This is not a bug in Python or Ubuntu. Hope that helps, Chris ** Changed in: python-stdlib-extensions (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = C Sontag (cdsontag) Status: Invalid = Fix Committed -- tkinter exception when using pyraf https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/111917 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 255976] Re: Keytouch 2.4.1 Package
Do you know who exactly I will need to contact? I'll do everything I can to push this update. No work needs to be done to fix this bug!
