[Bug 1520958] [NEW] lightdm suspend/lock issues
Public bug reported: Video of the problems: https://youtu.be/T9g86OZl4DU In the video, you'll see: 1) I un-check "Require my password when waking from suspend" in "Brightness & Lock" settings 2) Suspend/Resume works fine 3) I check "Require my password when waking from suspend" and Suspend again 4) Waking up from suspend gives me a white screen 5) Clicking in the upper left reveals that I am at the lock screen (I can see the reduced set of indicators) 6) Selecting "Switch accounts" takes me to a functional lock screen 7) I suspend again 8) Upon resuming to a white screen, I enter my password blindly, and am able to unlock successfully 9) I lock my computer (lock screen is a bit glitchy) 10) I suspend from the lock screen 11) I resume, and am at the (slightly glitched) lockscreen 12) Entering my password unlocks the screen Note that the visual glitches (whitescreen, broken password prompt) aren't always the same, however, the problem reproduces in the same way regardless. For example, sometimes, rather than a white screen, I see a partial version of my desktop. Clicking the indicators, however, reveals that I am actually at the lock screen, and the same processes of typing blindly or switching accounts work fine. For easy reference, I am running a fully up-to-date version of Ubuntu 15.10. If it's relevant, I am using the open source nvidia drivers (have not yet tried this with the proprietary drivers). [Bug 1316005] [NEW] Panel shadow appears over full screen applications
Public bug reported: The shadow of the top Unity panel draws over full screen applications that have controls visible when the mouse is moved. Steps to reproduce: 1) Open an image in Image Viewer 2) Double click the image to full-screen it 3) Move the mouse to the top of the screen to access the controls Expected behavior: Only the image and the Image Viewer controls should be visible Acutal behavior: The Unity panel shadow is drawn on top of the controls at the top of the screen Notes: This also appears in the Videos application, but does not in VLC or gimp. [Bug 1168595] Re: HAL no longer works for watching protected flash content in 13.04
Jason, I didn't do the upgrade from 12.10 to 13.04, I just did a fresh install of the Beta a while back (I always had issues with upgrades and like to start with a clean slate anyway) so I can't speak for whether or not there are issues with doing the upgrade, but as of my last post, everything has been fine (just installed all updates and played a video on Hulu to confirm it's still working). You might try making a live usb, installing hal, and then trying to watch a video. If that works, it could be an issue specific to your system, at which point I would recommend heading to the forums, or just doing a fresh install. -Chris -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1168595 Title: HAL no longer works for watching protected flash content in 13.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/hal/+bug/1168595/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1133676] Re: Window titles in expo should not cover window
Marco, It seems to me that it being the intended behavior doesn't make it necessarily the correct behavior. The spread mode is intended to make it easy to switch between windows, correct? If part of the window is covered, and that makes it less easy to distinguish windows, isn't that a valid problem? Also, perhaps it should have been filed separately, but I still contend that it is confusing to have the bar appear when you mouse over a window, but not disappear when you mouse off of it - you must mouse over a different window to get the bar to go away. These two things together make what is supposed to be a convenience feature less convenient to use, which is why I think this is something that needs to be modified. [Bug 1168742] [NEW] Disks are not unmounted when physical eject button is used
Public bug reported: In 13.04, disks (DVDs, CDS) are not unmounted when ejected via the hardware button on the drive. After ejecting disks via the hardware button, an entry for the disk still shows up in the file manager, and shows when I run df. If I do a soft eject (ie from the right click menu from the icon on the launcher), however, everything works properly. Just as a note, as per https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Bugs/FindRightPackage#Hardware_Malfunctions, I attempted to report this using ubuntu-bug storage, however there is not an option dealing with unmounting devices, and clicking other tells you that you should run ubuntu-bug again with a specific package name. In an attempt to get this to a semi-relevant audience, I ended up just saying that a disk wasn't auto-mounted, clicking through the next few popups, and ended up here. [Bug 476654] Re: CD eject but not unmount when using drive button and CD is in fstab
This is also an issue in 13.04. If I use icon on the launcher to eject, everything works properly. If I run umount /dev/sr0 and then use the hardware button everything is fine, but just pressing the button alone does not unmount the disk (in my case a DVD). Since it doesn't look like there has been much activity here, if I don't see a response in the next few days, I'll file a new bug to make sure it can be taken care of before 13.04 officially launches. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/476654 Title: CD eject but not unmount when using drive button and CD is in fstab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/udisks/+bug/476654/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1133719] Re: Certain applications do not take focus when files are opened via the dash

[Bug 1133719] [NEW] Certain applications do not take focus when files are opened via the dash
Public bug reported: I noticed that when I tried to open text files via the dash, gedit did not take focus. I decided to check a few other applications, and while libreoffice and evince both would take focus, eye of gnome had the same issue gedit does. Both gedit and eye of gnome do, however, take focus when the same files are access via nautilus. Here is a video demonstrating the issue: http://youtu.be/8wuObjxofF0 In the video you'll notice that when I open the files for gedit and eye of gnome via the dash, their windows do not take focus, noted by the fact that the window border stays colorless, and the global menu does not display the title of the window. You'll also notice that both applications behave correctly when the files are accessed via nautilus. Libreoffice is also shown, so that you can see it only effects certain applications. Also, the video does not show it, but opening the applications via the dash works as expected. In other words, if I launch gedit via the dash, it takes focus, however, if I open a file, which will open in gedit, it will not take focus. To reproduce: Open a text file via the dash, either by searching and hitting enter, or by clicking a recently used file.
