[Bug 1965995] [NEW] [FFe]Lubuntu wallpaper is outdated for Jammy

2022-03-22 Thread Dan Simmons
Public bug reported:

The Lubuntu Artwork package does not have new wallpaper to reflect the
Jammy Jellyfish release. Regression potential is low since only
wallpaper and an updated copyright are needed. Possible issues would be
incorrect artwork or no artwork shown for wallpaper and will only impact
Lubuntu. Further testing from the Lubuntu team before release will take
place.

[Bug 1922962] [NEW] Lubuntu Artwork is outdated for Hirsute

2021-04-07 Thread Dan Simmons
Public bug reported:

The Lubuntu Artwork package is not updated for the Hirsute release. New
wallpaper was submitted late in the cycle. New openbox theme was also
developed but not uploaded. The copyright file is also outdated and
needed updating. The package was built and installs from this PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~kc2bez/+archive/ubuntu/arttesting/+packages
Regression potential is low since the package installs and updates.
Possible issues would be incorrect artwork or no artwork shown for
wallpaper and will only impact Lubuntu. Further testing from the Lubuntu
team before release will take place.

[Bug 1829805] Re: Lubuntu Eoan Daily Image fails to boot after install on KVM

2019-05-23 Thread Dan Simmons
I tested today's (5/23/2019) ISO image in virtualbox and while it still
fails, I was able to note that I could mount the installed OS file
system from the live environment.

[Bug 1829805] Re: Lubuntu Eoan Daily Image fails to boot after install on KVM

2019-05-21 Thread Dan Simmons
I have tested this using the daily iso image (5/21/2019) on a bare metal
Acer laptop (BIOS) and Virtual Box using both BIOS and EFI. All tests
yield the same kernel panic result.

I have also tested the daily iso (5/20/2019) for Kubuntu and Xubuntu,
both of them worked properly on the same VM setup.

[Bug 1829805] [NEW] Lubuntu Eoan Daily Image fails to boot after install on KVM

2019-05-20 Thread Dan Simmons
Public bug reported:

Context: The live environment appears to function properly and install
proceeds as expected with no noticeable errors.

Expected results: After a system reboot the virtual machine enters the
graphical environment

Actual Results: After rebooting the virtual machine a kernel panic error
screen appears. I will attempt to attach the screenshot after submitting
this bug report.

The collected data is from the live environment as the installed
environment will not boot.

[Bug 1804554] Re: 18.10: lubuntu sddm crashes with openbox session

2019-03-08 Thread Dan Simmons
I can also confirm that this happens on both an 18.10 live system and an
installed system on physical hardware. I also tested a 19.04 installed system
on physical hardware and it too was affected. My 18.10 install on KVM was not
affected. The openbox session started as I would expect, a black background and
the right click menu performed as I would expect.
I did find that on the installs that did not paint the screen correctly
starting compton from the right-click menu caused the screen to begin to
refresh properly.

I installed a fresh Lubuntu 18.04 system in a virtual machine, I set

SDDM. The upgrader prompted me to restart and after restart the SDDM
login screen appeared. After I logged in the LXQt desktop environment
started. I did not receive any errors throughout the process.

I am unable to produce this either.
gio info should give a further clue. 2 possible reasons that would cause the

one. 2.)you right clicked on the file and unchecked the "Trust this executable"
radio box.
