[Bug 1301607] Re: Ambiance Combo box - black highlighted text and scroll arrows
Well, that report is for 12.04, mainly GTK2. I think the problem is that the fix is not compatible with GTK3 (the attribute cascades into the new combos, or an explicit declaration is needed). If Settings are up to date with GTK3, perhaps the fix is no longer needed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1301607 Title: Ambiance Combo box - black highlighted text and scroll arrows To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/hundredpapercuts/+bug/1301607/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1301655] [NEW] Buttons on the Shutdown/logout dialogs lacks click feedback
Public bug reported: On the Shutdown and the Logout modal dialogs, buttons have a rollover effect, but they don't have any feedback effect when clicking or touching them. [Bug 1072135] Re: Cancelling a file transfer should delete the incomplete file on the destination path
** Description changed: This is not a bug but a possible usability improvement. Test case: - - Open Nautilus - - Split panes using F3 - - Copy/move a big file form one pane to another - - Cancel the transfer using the X button. + - Open Nautilus + - Open a second folder on a tab + - Copy/move a big file form one tab to another + - Cancel the transfer using the X button. The unfinished file remains on the destination folder, now, since this file is incomplete (possibly unusable) and the user directly stated that he/she don't want to transfer this file, I think that is safer to delete the destination copy alltogether. I'm going to bring this to the Ninja team, to anyone who wants to help me troubleshoot this. I bet the problem is related to Compiz's grid plugin. [Bug 48671] Re: Cannot rename by clicking on a file
I also miss this feature, but I agree that the way Windows does it did not make sense: the single-click-wait mechanism is inconsistent. [Bug 1075368] Re: Inconsistent bookmarking of mounted media or network shares Nautilus/GTK+
Thanks Timothy. I don't know why I forgot to provide the version info, perhaps I thought I was using ubuntu-bug for the report. Anyway, Its Ubuntu 12.04 and Nautilus 3.4.2. I've tested it with two bookmarks. The first is a samba share to a Windows 7 folder containing spaces in the name (My Documents). The other is an external HD. On the screenshot, I'm using a GTK3 dialog from Gedit 3.4.1. You can see that the samba bookmark is shown as a path, and the HD partition is missing from the bookmarks list (but listed as mounted media). If I try the same using a GTK2 dialog from Firefox 17, the samba bookmark is shown just fine, but the mounted media is also missing. So, in the case of the bookmark name shown as a path: seems a GTK3 regression. In the case of the missing mounted media bookmark: its by design or a bug ported from GTK2. [Bug 1026090] Re: Top of software item screen is unattractive
Hi Matthew. Thanks to taking the time and review the mockups. I agree with you about the third column. Is not very useful and can cause problems on narrow resolutions, like a vertical tablet. Better to get rid of it. I also agree about the position of the install button on M3: on a widscreen monitor it ends away from the price and the title, but I'm not sure about M2. Perhaps I approached the problem from the wrong concept, but for me, its not that the install button is away from the price, but away from everything that represents the product (but the screenshot). It is also badly positioned for discovery: most of the controls and links are on the left side. On M2 the install button is right below the icon, and left of the main product info. I don't think that the average user can miss it or think that is not related to the product (and its price). I don't want to be intrusive on your design process (I started without reading any documentation), but if you're OK, I can keep exploring the idea, eliminating the third column to see how the screenshot could be placed. [Bug 1077190] Re: Minimized windows are kept attached to a workspace
Thanks Daniel. If the behavior is expected and designed, then I'm OK with it. I'm starting to use Unity as a production environment, and there are things that make noise in my workflow, but I can't be sure if I'm biased by previous experiences or there are actual concerns on usability. About this one: I'm trying to wrap my head around a normal user experiencing with mutiple desktops for the first time, and the minimize- thing is a tricky one: On one hand, Launcher apps and minimized apps are very similar, users might expect a consistent behaviour (the app reattaching to the current workspace). On other hand, a minimized app has already been attached to a workspace, and I agree with you that perhaps is not a good idea to change this (since the user has already a way to reorder apps on workspaces).
