[Bug 53789] Re: Unable to open /etc/opt/IDEALX/smbldap-tools/smbldap.conf for reading

2012-08-23 Thread Dimitrios Symeonidis
There's no configure.pl script included in this package (12.04)

Also, maybe this should fail a bit more gracefully?

And finally, what if I'm just an LDAP client wanting to get some
information from an LDAP server? Do I really need to write a
configuration file for that?

[Bug 696246] Re: Dependency on mysql not recognised

2011-06-15 Thread Dimitrios Symeonidis
Redmine can also work with PostgreSQL and SQLite, so I think having it
depend on mysql-server would be wrong.

Maybe a better solution would be to have the redmine-mysql package
depend also on redmine, so that installing redmine-mysql could be made
to pull everything in in the right order.

What do you think?

[Bug 769437] [NEW] DISABLE_LINUX_RECOVERY ignored

2011-04-23 Thread Dimitrios Symeonidis
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: grub2

The option GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_RECOVERY=true in /etc/default/grub is
ignored by update-grub; the resulting /boot/grub/grub.cfg still contains
the recovery mode (single) option.

The reason seems to be that /usr/sbin/grub-mkconfig exports the wrong
option (GRUB_DISABLE_RECOVERY, rather than GRUB_DISABLE_LINUX_RECOVERY).
In fact, renaming the option in /etc/default/grub works around this
issue.

[Bug 591375] Re: dahdi-dkms fails to install on 2.6.35 kernel: linux/autoconf.h: No such file or directory

2010-08-09 Thread Dimitrios Symeonidis
Yes, the reason is that in 2.6.32 there's the file:
/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.32-23-generic/include/linux/autoconf.h
while in 2.6.35 it's:
/usr/src/linux-headers-2.6.35-14-generic/include/generated/autoconf.h

[Bug 582807] Re: package dahdi-dkms 1:2.2.1 dfsg-1ubuntu2 failed to install/upgrade: dahdi kernel module failed to build

2010-08-07 Thread Dimitrios Symeonidis
The problem is caused by the fact that, while you're on Ubuntu 10.04,
you appear to be running an older kernel (2.6.31-20-generic), for which
the header files are not installed. You could install the headers
(package linux-headers-2.6.31-20-generic). However the best thing to do
would be to use the latest kernel provided by your release: 2.6.32

I'm marking this as invalid. If the advise above did NOT solve your
problem, please feel free to switch the status back to new and provide
additional information.

Thank you, and good luck

[Bug 605474] [NEW] wrong base directory /debian/compizconfig-backend-gconf

Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: compizconfig-backend-gconf

The package compizconfig-backend-gconf seems to use the wrong basedir at some

[Bug 600728] Re: gave up waiting for root device (temporary, intermittent)

2010-07-09 Thread Dimitrios Symeonidis
Forest, if you still have this problem, try this:
- boot from a LiveCD
- mount the root partition, devfs, procfs and sysfs
- chroot into your system
- do an aptitude full-upgrade

That fixed it for me (here's the blog post I wrote about it:
http://azitech.wordpress.com/2010/07/09/gave-up-waiting-for-root-device/)

Let me know how it went
Good luck

[Bug 562006] Re: Cups Web Admin Authentication Fails

2010-07-09 Thread Dimitrios Symeonidis
I'm on Maverick alpha 2. I can confirm your solution works.

Here's what I did:
sudo passwd root
sudo usermod -aG shadow root
sudo usermod -aG lpadmin root
sudo lppasswd -a root
sudo vi /etc/cups/cupsd.conf
sudo service cups restart

I will write back if I find some of these steps are not necessary, or if
enabling the root account can be avoided...

[Bug 527938] Re: Open office crashes when trying to set up Bibliography Database

2010-03-05 Thread Dimitrios Symeonidis
Confirmed that installing openoffice.org-base (the database component of
oo.o) makes the problem go away.

Added upstream bug watch, updating also the description

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: openoffice.org

- It seems a similar bug as reported # 6840, though that one was fixed in
- 2005. When going to tools and then Bibliography Database, it crashes
- with no warning. It is possible to recover the work on hand.
+ Running the Bibliography Database tool in Writer (found under the tools
menu) without the openoffice.org-base package installed crashes OpenOffice. The
message on the console is:
+ terminate called after throwing an instance of
'com::sun::star::loader::CannotActivateFactoryException'

- Running on a Compaq 6720S.
+ Installing openoffice.org-base makes the issue go away.
+
+ Reproduced also with 3.2.0rc4-1ubuntu1
