[Bug 397466]

2014-04-25 Thread Divan
For those that haven't yet noticed, looks like Kubuntu 14.04 LTS has
this working:

PAM KWallet git20140410

New single sign-on capabilities for the password manager KWallet.
Allowing new wallets to be automatically be created on first login and
automatically unlocked on subsequent logins.

Hopefully other distro's and upstream will pick this up soon.

[Bug 1165420] Re: Unable to access indicators from HUD

2013-08-20 Thread Divan
Ok with the latest saucy builds 13.10 the hud is not searching the indicators
yet. Hopefully it will be fixed in time for 13.10 because it's very useful to
search diodon and other indicators. HUD can still search the application menus
though.
Not yet working in this build 13.10.1daily13.08.16.1-101.

Briamn, this is fixed in 12.10 so I don't see why it wouldn't be fixed
in 13.04(unless I'm missing something)?

Sorry but I still have this exact bug. Fully up tp date on 12.10.
indicator-appmenu = 12.10.3-0ubuntu1
indicator-messages = 12.10.4-0ubuntu1
HUD doesn't search indicator-messages.

[Bug 1042824] Re: Doesn't include indicator-messages items anymore since the GMenuModel-port

2012-10-26 Thread Divan
Ok, the workaround for me is to restart unity after I've booted.

So boot and autologin.
Unity+indicator-multiload+indicator-cpufreq indicators+rsibreak+clipit+dropbx
all autolaunch.

HUD doesn't include indicator-messages.

Then I simple do a unity --replace and it works straight away.

At least I have a work around for now to make this work.
Could this bug be re-opened? Does anyone need any log messages for more info?

This log looks useless. Seems to be the only relevant log. Nothing was
logged while I ran through these steps to reproduce the bug.

Nothing else logged when I start it from CLI.

[Bug 625793] Re: Keyboard layout automatically changes + 100% CPU usage [updated]

2010-10-09 Thread divan
@Al Zhukov, I use g-s-d 2.32.0-0ubuntu3 version from Karl's PPA as well and I
still have this bug with Different Layouts for different windows enabled. But
the frequency of bug is much lower - now I see it once per day (actually I
catched it 3 times after g-s-d ubuntu3 version installed). I restarted the
system, and restarted g-s-d, so I don't think it's my mistake.
Need more confirmations, but for me patched g-s-d doesn't solve the problem
unfortunately.

Little update - If I kill g-s-d while bug appears and quickly start it
again, the layout switching still continue. If I wait some time(~20
secs) before starting g-s-d again - the switching gone away. (using
g-s-d 2.32.0-0ubuntu3 now)

And, I agree with some of the previous posters - that's the *stopper*
bug for everyone who use more than one layout.

I second that - the bug still exist (but I got it once, under heavy swapping
and memory usage) and switching layout from menu doesn't work(even more, the
icon image doesn't correspond the selected item in dropdown menu).
I've installed patched g-s-d from the link above and restarted g-s-d.

 I can't use gnome-terminal hotkeys(in particular Ctrl+Shift+C and
 Ctrl+Shift+V) after update,
Do not confirm. Still work for me with gnome-settings-daemon 2.32.0-0ubuntu3
Menu layout switching works(but still issues with menu labels sync).

Will wait a couple of hours for the bug.

As a quick resume on confitions (at least, on my experience):
For the unpatched version, bug triggers on:
1) Occasionally - when 'Different layouts for different windows' option is
enabled.
2) Under heavy system load(swapping, etc) - no matter, enabled or disabled the
'Different layouts..' option.

And for the patched version (2.32.0-ubuntu2, at least):
1) Only under heavy load (with option 'Different layouts..' enabled in my
single case).

So, I'm pretty sure that occasional switching is gone away, but will
test it more.

I've got this bug again, with gnome-settings-daemon 2.32.0-0ubuntu3. Everything
the same as with unpatched version, occasionally caught, 50-80% CPU usage,
increasing memory usage, fast layouts switching.
I attached to g-s-d process by gdb, but cannot find what info to look without
knowing g-s-d structure. When I pause the process, switching stops and resumes
when I continue g-s-d process, so it just an confirmation that this is the bug
of g-s-d.

@Karl, maybe it helps (or, in contrary, confuses more)) - I succeeded to
trigger it with 'Separate layout for each window' disabled 3 times - and
all 3 times it was a moment of high memory and disk usage(active
swapping actually). Three times with same conditions is a reason to
think it wasn't an occasion.

But, please note that the kbd indicator applet itself does _NOT_ change, ie
it says I am using US layout even if it's not true!
Another possibility of this is _very_ fast switching, so you even can't
recognize it changes. I saw such high speed switching for flags - it were
cycling so rapidly, that US flag was visible all the time and only when
system load became high, I could notice other layouts flag images appearing.

video is 167Megs in size cause it 1280x768x60fps (at this rate it's possible to
see the fast layout indicator switching). Uploaded it into the temporary ftp
server, so I would appreciate if someone reupload it to the some filesharing
service.

Video link: http://skating.com.ua/tmp/bug_625793_10.10.mov
(It's recommended to play it via mplayer with framedrop option turned off =
-noframedrop)

At this video we can clearly see:
1) layout indicator fast switching
2) CPU usage of the g-s-d and indicator-application-service processes
3) memory usage of g-s-d at the beginning of the bug (~23M)
4) layout indicator stopped to switch, but layouts still cycling - input
characters test
5) clicking on items in the indicator layout menu doesnt change iconapplication-
6) memory usage of g-s-d process at the end (~51.5M)
7) restoring of normal state (layouts do not cycle, indicator as well, input is
ok)

[Bug 625793] Re: Keyboard layout automatically changes + 100% CPU usage [updated]

2010-10-02 Thread divan
Little update on Use different layouts for different windows disable method -
I've disabled it three days ago, bug seems to gone, but appeared two times -
and both times under the heavy system load. I.e. when CPU and memory usage got
high up to 100% due to some reasons the layouts start switching again, so I had
to kill and restart gnome-settings-daemon.
It may sound strange. But under normal system load and 'use differen layouts..
disable I didn't get this bug.

[Bug 625793] Re: Keyboard layout automatically changes

2010-09-30 Thread divan
Yes, not only indicator text/flags does switch, but also layouts are
switching, so if you have, for example two layouts - English and
Russian, with letters 'q' and 'й' on the same key - and want to enter
'qq', the output will be 'qйqййqqййqйqq`. The indicator image(I
use country flags images) also change it's image about 10-30 times per
second, sometimes faster, sometimes slower - I guess it depends on
system CPU usage.

When the option 'Separate layout for each window' is disabled, the bug
doesn't occur. (I tested it on two machines with latest Maverick beta).

Karl, I can provide any info that will help to find the source of the
problem, just tell me what info is needed.

@Rich Wales, copied flag icons(from internet) to ~/.icons/flags and set
the option /desktop/gnome/peripherals/keyboard/indicator/showFlags to
true, but I don't think it matters, cause people reported this bug with

[Bug 587971] Re: Deluge high resource usage

2010-09-29 Thread divan
The same here, on Ubuntu Maverick 10.10 Beta (latest updates at this moment) -
Deluge Core Version: 1.3.0, libtorrent version: 0.15.3.0
I have 4 torrents, 1 is active. After the 30 minutes, deluge become completely
unusable - no download/upload, memory usage goes up to 1GB and cannot exit the

Can someone take a look at this bug or tell which information is needed
to clarify it? Cause it a *stopper* bug - you can't work when it occurs,
you can't enter any text, event to kill processes from command line.

When it occurs, I see only this repeating message from gnome-settings-
daemon(I started it from the console):

gnome-settings-daemon:7314): libappindicator-CRITICAL **:
app_indicator_set_label: assertion `IS_APP_INDICATOR (self)' failed

Also, I'm not sure that this is the xserver-xorg-input-evdev bug.

[Bug 629444] Re: 100 percent cpu usage and keyboard layouts switching automatically

2010-09-28 Thread divan
I found three duplicates of this bug:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xserver-xorg-input-evdev/+bug/636619
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/630347
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/indicator-application/+bug/633346

In my case(Maverick 10.10, latest updates) I have three layouts(en, ru, uk) and
sometimes(once per hour or two) keyboard indicator starts cycling between
layouts very fast. It makes impossible to enter any text, so I'd mark this as
high importance bug. The gnome-settings-daemon eats a lot of memory(from 100 to
800 Megs from my observation) and use CPU heavily (up to 100% on one
processor). Solution is to kill it and restart.
I'll try to disable Separate layout for each window option as suggested above
and check if it helps.

[Bug 636619] Re: keyboard layout switching goes crazy

2010-09-24 Thread divan
I've installed Maverick Beta on two machines and has this annoying bug
as well. I have three layouts, and after some time the layout indicator
start cycling layouts, as described in the top post. The gnome-settings-
daemon eats 80-90% CPU. I also noticed CPU usage increase for indicator-
application-service, but cannot tell for sure now. But when I kill both
this processed and restart gnome-settings-daemon, the things return back
to normal state. I tried to run gnome-settings-daemon with --debug and
--no-daemon mode, but didn't get any suspicious output when this bug
starts.

[Bug 522587] [NEW] [lucid] gnome-settings-deamon segfaults in libgnome-desktop

2010-02-16 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

For a few days now the Gnome desktop shows up in some default style
after booting and I find the following in dmesg:

This happens again after every logon:

However, running gnome-appearance-properties (which runs gnome-settings-

in dmesg. Starting gnome-settings-deamon by hand shows:

[Bug 448494] [NEW] Pidgin complains about showoffline plugin presence on each start

2009-10-11 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

Pidgin 2.6.2 complains about showoffline plugin presence on each start

[Bug 406265] [NEW] No graphics on ASUS X5DIJ, GMA 4500MHD

2009-07-29 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

Booting from Karmic Alpha 3 live cd, there is no graphics output from
right after when the first 3 lines of the boot-log are printed on. I
get a black screen on any of the 7 terminals. However, I can hear
Gnome's welcome sound after a while so booting works. (As well,
brightness keys work as expected, this was an issue with any older
version of Ubuntu).

It doesn't help to boot in save graphics mode or with acpi=off. Nor is
any output on the external VGA connector.

This wasn't an issue with Alpha 2.

I'm using the ASUS X5DIJ laptop with GMA 4500MHD graphics, amd64 build.

[Bug 224636] Re: Asus brightness keys only toggle between the lowest two levels

2009-07-17 Thread Divan
My x5dij laptop has no light sensor like the asus m50.

I've done the 'debugging' Scott Howard suggested in bug #368506, first
without restarting video kernel module.

keyevents reported by xev:

keycode 232 = (keysym 0x1008ff03, XF86MonBrightnessDown), state = 0x0
keycode 232 = (keysym 0x1008ff03, XF86MonBrightnessDown), state = 0x0

keycode 233 = (keysym 0x1008ff02, XF86MonBrightnessUp), state = 0x0
keycode 233 = (keysym 0x1008ff02, XF86MonBrightnessUp), state = 0x0

I think this is what's supposed to be. Though in contrast to e.g. the
letter keys, both events are reported instantly and not on key down/key
up. That's the case with all Fn+ - keys.

The events reported by acpi_listen are a bit strange:
key brightness up produces:
video LCDD 0086
hotkey ATKD 0011 007e
and brightness down:
video LCDD 0087
hotkey ATKD 0020 00fa
for the brightness down key, every press that is precedes by the same keypress
produces two hotkey-events:
video LCDD 0087
hotkey ATKD 0020 00fb
hotkey ATKD 0020 00fc
That's not the case for brightness up.

Over all I suppose this can't be our problem. So it may be a gnome-
power-manager problem.

The command
dbus-monitor --session
type='signal',interface='org.freedesktop.PowerManagement.Backlight'
produces output only for the brightness down-key:

signal sender=:1.25 - dest=(null destination) serial=102
path=/org/freedesktop/PowerManagement/Backlight;
interface=org.freedesktop.PowerManagement.Backlight; member=BrightnessChanged
   uint32 0

And the output of gnome-power-manager --verbose --no-daemon is in the
attached file. I inserted some blank lines between my keypresses.

[Bug 224636] Re: Asus brightness keys only toggle between the lowest two levels

2009-07-17 Thread Divan
After reloading the video module, the behaviour changes to the following
(beside brightness keys working):

xev doesn't report the keyevents anymore.

acpi_listen only produces ATKD events, and obviously the right ones showing
change of brightness over the whole scale:
hotkey ATKD 0020 005d
hotkey ATKD 0020 005e
hotkey ATKD 0020 005f
hotkey ATKD 0020 0060

[Bug 368506] Re: display brightness asus; function keys not working

2009-07-17 Thread Divan
This bug isn't a duplicate of bug #224636. The laptop mentioned there
has NVIDIA graphics and an ambient light sensor that messes up with
brightness settings. The asus x5dij and b80a have no such sensor and use
the Intel GMA 4500MHD.

Therefore I unlinked the bugs. I posted some debugging information erroneously
in #224636 that I'll repeat below.
The conclusion I draw from them:
1. The bug is a kernel / video driver bug and has got nothing to do with
gnome-power manager. (It occurs with kubuntu as well)
2. It still occurs with Karmic Alpha 2
Also theres the output of dmidecode, lspci and uname attached.
As Scott did yesterday, I'd appreciate if a member of the kernel team can take
a look at this bug again, since we're now sure it's a kernel bug.

Now the debugging information (only the hotkey-troubleshooting, not for
gnome-power-manager, see #224636):

Gnome-power-manager and gnome-settings-daemon are killed.

Keyevents reported by xev | sed -n 's/^.*state \([0-9].*\), keycode
*\([0-9]\+\) *\(.*\), .*$/keycode \2 = \3, state = \1/p' :

keycode 232 = (keysym 0x1008ff03, XF86MonBrightnessDown), state = 0x0
keycode 232 = (keysym 0x1008ff03, XF86MonBrightnessDown), state = 0x0

keycode 233 = (keysym 0x1008ff02, XF86MonBrightnessUp), state = 0x0
keycode 233 = (keysym 0x1008ff02, XF86MonBrightnessUp), state = 0x0

(In both cases the two events are reported instantly, not on key down /
key up.)

This is before reloading video module. After that xev doesn't report
keyevents anymore.

acpi_listen events are strange before reloading:

key brightness up produces always (except for the counter, of course):
video LCDD 0086
hotkey ATKD 0011 007e

and brightness down:
video LCDD 0087
hotkey ATKD 0020 00fa

for the brightness down key, every press that is precedes by an brightness
down keypress produces two ATKD-events:
video LCDD 0087
hotkey ATKD 0020 00fb
hotkey ATKD 0020 00fc
That's not the case for brightness up.

After reloading the events seem ok, as I am really able to access the whole
brightness scale. LCDD events are absent:
hotkey ATKD 0020 005d
hotkey ATKD 0020 005e
hotkey ATKD 0020 005f

[Bug 393523] Re: no sound ASUS X5DIJ-SX018L and Intel 82801I (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller

2009-07-15 Thread Divan
For the time until the patch is out, here's a way to enable EAPD
automatically:

get
ftp://ftp.kernel.org/pub/linux/kernel/people/tiwai/misc/hda-verb/hda-verb-0.3.tar.bz2
unpack, sudo make, copy or link hda-verb to /usr/bin/hda-verb
and insert the following line into e.g. rc.local:
hda-verb /dev/snd/hwC0D0 0x1c SET_EAPD_BTLENABLE 0x2

If there's a simpler way without the hda-verb tool, would be great to
know.

[Bug 399675] [NEW] brightness keys on Asus x5dij

2009-07-15 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

The brightness keys on my Asus x5dij show the following behauviour:
Instead of of changing brightness over the whole available scale, they just
toggle between the first two values possible.

The values in /sys/devices/virtual/backlight/acpi_video0 are:
brightness: 0 or 1, respectively
actual_brightness: 0
max_brightness: 13

However, it's possible to change the brightness by hand by writing to
/sys/devices/virtual/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness or the /equivalent
/proc-file.

A workaround is unloading/reloading the video kernel module, but after
this the brightness-changing-OSD doesn't appear anymore and I guess
there may be other issues, at least it's not the elegant way ;)

Don't know what package to file against. Please tell me what further
information to provide. I'm using Jaunty.

[Bug 368506] Re: display brightness asus; function keys not working

2009-07-15 Thread Divan
This happens on my Asus x5dij, too.

However, i think the issue with the brightness-keys has nothing to do with
gnome-power-manager, since I incidentally discovered a workaround (see
#399675).
Also, setting the brightness by writing to
/sys/devices/virtual/backlight/acpi_video0/brightness works perfectly.

I assume the flickering occurs because before every brightness change
the value is first set to the darkest and then to the desired one.

I'll soon test it with an karmic alpha live cd.

On karmic alpha 2 the flickering is the same. The brightness keys are reacting
but both keys randomly do nothing (but flickering) or switch with the following
behaviour:
Using the brightness up key I randomly get the darkest or the
almost-brightest setting.
With the brightness down key I get the brightest or almost-darkest setting.
The OSD always displays one of those values belonging to the keys, but not
necessarily the current one.

After booting I get an error window saying Internal error - failed to
initialize HAL

Added deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/hermansson-per/ppa/ubuntu jaunty

Connected perfectly fine!

Awesome thanks for the patch!

But if this works and fixes a bug so nicely why is it not in the
official ubuntu updates repo? Or is this patch still going to be
uploaded?

My Logitech dual action(2 analog stick) gamepad also gets detected and works
like a mouse on kubuntu 8.10 with latest updates.

The gamepad worked perfectly on hardy but in intrepid it works like a
mouse(never seen that before) and the buttons simply don't work.

Through systemsettings I could calibrate the joystick axis' but the
buttons don't get detected at all.

(Which means I can't play my EA sports nba live on intrepid - that
sucks.)

Is their a workaround until this gets fixed?
What info can I attach to help with this bugfix?

[Bug 283652] Re: after backuppc server upgrade from hardy to intrepid, windows backups all fail

2008-10-16 Thread Divan
Ok - here is the fix/problem for this:

The new version has the new smbclient package.

backuppc(both versions shipped with 8.04 and 8.10) by default backs up
smb pcs using /usr/bin/smbclient -N for INCR FULL and Restore commands.

The new smbclient package if you use the -N switch it does not pass the
password through hence the backups fail.

Looks like that change from the old smbclient to the new one.

FIX:
Either smbclient package needs to be changed (that -N passes the password
command still) or the default config.pl file shipped with the latest backuppc
on intrepid needs to be modified and the -N of smbclient portion removed.

Its a simple fix, can some develop fix this so backuppc actually works
in 8.10?

[Bug 283652] [NEW] after backuppc server upgrade from hardy to intrepid, windows backups all fail

2008-10-15 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I upgraded our backup server running backuppc 8.04 to 8.10 using the
recommended ubuntu method.

After upgrade all rsync, rsyncd backups still work however all smb
backups of our windows pcs/server fail with the following error message:

It looks like the samba portion of 8.10 on backuppc is no longer passing
the password correctly and instead attempts to login remotely.

If I manually run usr/bin/smbclient zaj-karsenm\\C\$ -U ZAJ-
KARSENM\\administrator and put in the password as per the backuppc .pl
file it logs in correctly.

Also this if I login via konqueror from this same server it logs in
succesfully.

Any idea - this is obviously a rather serious bug.

[Bug 283242] [NEW] kubuntu kde4 8.04 8.10 doesn't poweroff when you shutdown

2008-10-14 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

on kubuntu kde4.1.2(and other kde4.x) 8.04 or 8.10 when I press Turn
off computer it very often doesn't poweroff my laptop.

Instead it hangs at a blank X screen just before exiting.
I then have to press the actual power button on the laptop and that normally
makes it start the poweroff again and it completes.
The other option is pressing control+alt+f2 and logging in via that console and
telling it to poweroff.

This is a very serious bug and thats why I'm reporting it.

The reason its serious is very often I quickly tell my laptop to
shutdown and then pack it in my laptop bag.

When I get home I have a extremely hot laptop that could potentially be damaged
from serious overheating issues.
This has happened to my friend too. Obviously one should check to see that the
laptop shuts down however this issue should be noted/addressed.

But I want network-manager to be aware of my bridge mode and not say

[Bug 278036] [NEW] kontact shortcuts changed

2008-10-04 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

I have kde 4.1.1 packages on hardy 8.04 and upgraded to kde 4.1.2 via:
deb http://ppa.launchpad.net/kubuntu-members-kde4/ubuntu/ hardy main

Now the problem is previously this is how the shortcuts used to operate:
Ctrl+1 = Summary in kontact
Ctrl+2 = Mail in kontact
Ctrl+3 = Address book in kontact
Ctrl+4 = Calendar in kontact
etc

Since the update this is how the shortcuts now operate:
Ctrl+1 = Time tracker in kontact
Ctrl+2 = Popup notes in kontact
Ctrl+3 = Notebooks in kontact
Ctrl+4 = Journal in kontact
etc

Moreover this problem is serious because I try change the shortcuts in
kontact back the way it was(the correct way) and it works however once I
exit kontact and re-enter it, the shortcuts reset back to the faulty way
post-update :(

Is this a packaging bug, kde bug or a just a me bug?

[Bug 162371] openoffice opening files over network

2007-11-13 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

When opening a file with konqueror or nautilus I think, you can not open
up office documents over the network.

A simple fix is to do the following:
Look at your MIME settings in konqueror. There you will find that openoffice
documents are set like:

 ooffice -writer %U

 if you change that to

 ooffice -writer %f

the file will be copied to a temp directory before its opened. If it changes,
konqueror is smart enough to ask if it should upload the new version.

Why is this not the default? A bug has been reporting ages ago and yet
this is still the case?

Isn't this a one minute bug fix? Can it be done please? :)

Thanks

[Bug 108725] Kubuntu password stars

2007-04-25 Thread Divan
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Hello,

A request.

In Kubuntu Edgy with kde 3.5.6 when you were at the kdm login screen or
any password prompt the *** stars were nice big round circles instead of
the previous stars like so ***.

This was a nice improvement.

However with Feisty it is like small squares not the previous better
looking more user friendly/appealing bigger circles?

Am I wrong? I really liked the way KDE 3.5.6(I think) does it by
default!

[Bug 94831] Re: KNetworkManager inactive after login

2007-04-24 Thread Divan
Same for me! Hang to login type in wallet password, kill knetworkmanager
and open again and then connect to wireless network :(

Will a fix be released for Feisty?

Re: [Bug 108335] Re: kubuntu screen saver not default on

2007-04-21 Thread Divan
Thanks Richard, I will give it a good think and discuss and give more feedback
later :)

On Saturday 21 April 2007 17:02:27 Richard Birnie wrote:
I can confirm that this behaviour is true but it seems likely that this
is intentional and not really a bug. Divan if you think this should be
changed then it's probably better if you make this suggestion on one of
the kubuntu mailing lists and it can be discussed there. You can find
 the lists here https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/

I'm going to set the status to needs info for now. If you discover that
this behaviour is intentional then this bug can rejected.

[Bug 108744] kontact new email notification

2007-04-21 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kontact

Hello

in Kontact i think the following should be kubuntu default settings:

In Kontact go to Settings = Configure Notifications = Click Advanced = Check
the two boxes:
Show a message in a popup window
Use a passive window that doesn't interrupt other work

This is kind of how MS Outlooks default setting is. Its quite nice and
think it should be default

[Bug 108334] Kopete settings configure shortcut wrong

2007-04-20 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kopete

Hello

If you do the following in any KDE application it will configure the
settings of that application:

Alt+S and then C for configure.

In Kopete it doesn't, it insteads opens configure plugins not
configure kopete like it should.

Simple swap the it so Alt+S and then C will configure kopete whiile
Alt+S and then O will configure plugins not the other way around.

Hope someone fixes this cause I use these short cuts all the time :)

[Bug 108335] kubuntu screen saver not default on

2007-04-20 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

In kubuntu 7.04

There is no default screen saver set, is this not a problem or does the
screen sleep?

I think there should be a default screen saver - would be nice if it
said Kubuntu on the screensaver or even if it was a random one! :)

[Bug 108341] Regional Settings wrong

2007-04-20 Thread Divan
Public bug reported:

Hi,

When I install Kubuntu Feisty or Edgy I select Johannesburg in South
Africa for example. The system installs and sets up my repos to .za
which is correct.

BUT a big problem is I have to still go to systemsettings and click on
Regional and Language and set it to Africa = South Africa which fixed
the currency spelling etc.

This is so important bug to fix because else everyones currency and
spelling defaults to a country wherre it is not when the system already
knows which country the user is in.
