[Bug 492568] Re: CTRL key not pased through when mouse app has checked show position of pointer is checked
Hi Fabio, The only explanation I can offer is that I am running 10.04.1 with the proposed updates enabled. I have reproduced the condition this morning, and it is repeatable. I hope the two attachments make it through. ** Attachment added: Screenshot-1.png https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/492568/+attachment/1698001/+files/Screenshot-1.png -- CTRL key not pased through when mouse app has checked show position of pointer is checked https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492568 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 492568] Re: CTRL key not pased through when mouse app has checked show position of pointer is checked
Hi Fabio, Well, perhaps it has been fixed in that newer version. While it no longer matters to me, because the only time it caused a problem was when I was running Wine, and Photofiltre under Wine required it for some functions. But I do believe that other folks could have a problem with it. And I have confirmed it, again and again. It the locate function is enabled, the CTRL click does absorb the CTRL key, but apparently ONLY under certain conditions. This makes it even more strange. Because as you found, the CTRL+ALT+F1/F7 did seem to work properly, but it is definitely absorbed in Evolution's address selection, and that is a function that I DO use a lot, because my idiot ISP will not allow mailing lists over 7 addresses, because they claim it is spam prevention. So I don't really need it, but I'm sure some other conditions will need it for other folks. I might add that dirty word Windoze does NOT absorb CTRL key, as back when I was running Windoze, I did use Photofiltre, and it worked properly. -- CTRL key not pased through when mouse app has checked show position of pointer is checked https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/492568 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Hello Fabio My error, I'm afraid. The original complaint was generated on a different machine, and with Wine loaded. I no longer use wine, and so I tried a shortcut on the terminal. Obviously, I was wrong. Your Ctrl+Alt+\F1/F7 proves that you are correct, and the Ctrl Key is passed through as it should be. Hi Fabio I'm afraid you can't close it. For a demonstrastion, enable the cursor locate function, then, in Evolution, try to select some names for a new E-Mail. In your address list, try and select some names by clicking on one, move down a couple, and try to select another by using CTRL click. It shouild mark both names, but it does not! [Bug 654328] [NEW] md5sum program failing on multiple file downloads
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: coreutils Lucid 10,04.1 with all current and proposed updates. Specifically I suspect the proposed coreutils package. [Bug 519131] Re: Latest two versions of grub-common do not honor shift key.
Specifics are as follows: Karmic with all latest updates, and repo's set to all the proposed updates as well. This loaded the kernel subversion 20. Found that the shift key no longer entered the grub menu at boot time. Narrowed problem to grub-common, which at this time had 3 versions available in synaptic. They were: 1.97-beta4-1ubuntu5 (karmic-proposed) 1.97-beta4-1ubuntu4.1 (karmic-updates) 1.97-beta4-1ubuntu3 (karmic) Of these three possible files, the top two would not honor the shift key. [Bug 491585] Re: Authentication box does not place cursor as do all other authentication boxes in Karmic
Hi Alex, I had no idea that it would be different under different systems, but yes, it is consistent and reproducible. I admit I can't imagine what would make that kind of difference. If it helps any, the laptop is an Acer 5570Z, with a dual core T2080. If I can furnish any further info, please just ask. E-mail is in my profile. But it is minor and cosmetic. -- Authentication box does not place cursor as do all other authentication boxes in Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/491585 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 491585] Re: Authentication box does not place cursor as do all other authentication boxes in Karmic
Hi Alex, well the plot thickens. I tried it on my desktop which is also running 910 on a Intel Pentium IV. It also places the cursor correctly, so this seems peculiar to my machine or processor. I do not have a clue where this is leading, but I'm willing to try anything you can suggest. -- Authentication box does not place cursor as do all other authentication boxes in Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/491585 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 424693] Re: samba install error
Hi Chuck, - I'm afraid I can't be of much help, since I've had to do a complete reinstall of the system since that time, due to some other problems. And I have not yet tried to install samba because the other problem has obviated the need for the networking I was trying to accomplish. I can try to install samba again if it will help in this matter. [Bug 424693] Re: samba install error
Hi Chuck, Oooppss! I find that before I did the re-install, I did save some things, and one of them was the .conf file. I still have it, and have attached it here. I will add I made several attempts at this, but I'm pretty sure this was the latest one before I gave it up. Hope it is of some help. - Don ** Attachment added: smb.conf http://launchpadlibrarian.net/31611401/smb.conf -- samba install error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/424693 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 286610] Re: Speakers do not work on HP 6530b
This low volume problem appears to be prevalent on many laptops, including my Acer with an intel chipset. However, jaunty does not have a modprobe.d file. Can someone suggest another workaround where the laptop line can be added?
