The bug is reproducible, to reproduce: 1) Have a maximized window by itself on a workspace other than the one you are using 2) Activate expo plugin 3) Double click maximized window/workspace 4) Activate scale plugin via mouse button (must be bound through ccsm) 5) Point mouse at left side of screen, and you'll see the outline of the window attempting to dock to the left side of screen. [Bug 880998] [NEW] Grid plugin activates when dragging other mouse buttons
Public bug reported: This is a weird bug. It seems to be most reproducible if you have a maximized window (for example, Banshee). If you have another compiz feature mapped to a mouse button (for example, one of the thumb buttons set to the scale plugin) and you hold that button and move the mouse (as needs to be done to use the scale plugin), the outlines of the grid plugin trying to snap the focused fullscreen window to the side or top of the screen will appear. If this happens, the outlines will continue to appear even after releasing the button, and will sometimes even move to follow the cursor. This behavior seems to continue until you click on an indicator icon. Happens under Oneiric using fglrx 11.9, did not happen in Natty with fglrx 11.9. ** Affects: unity (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/880998 Title: Grid plugin activates when dragging other mouse buttons To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/880998/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 728998] Re: Turning on wobbly windows in compiz causes issues in workspace switcher
I also have this issue on Natty AMD64. It does not seem to be related to the driver because I actually recently upgraded from an Nvidia 9600GT (using that binary driver) to a Radeon 6870 (using the catalyst binary driver.) [Bug 776904] Re: Application windows not redrawn, appears unresponsive
I'm pretty sure this is a FGLRX related issue because I only started having this issue after installing a Radeon 6870, and therefore switching to the FGLRX driver. I previously used Natty with an NVidia 9600 GT and the Nvidia binary from the website with mipmapping enabled, with no problems. However, I would like to confirm the same issues have been happening to me when using any plugin with mipmapping enabled. This means both application switchers, as well as the Expo plugin. I don't think this is a terribly important bug because none of the plugins have mipmapping enabled by default (right? I dunno actually...) but having mipmapping disabled has a huge impact on compiz's visual quailty, so it is definitely important that this gets fixed. driver info: $ fglrxinfo display: :0 screen: 0 OpenGL vendor string: ATI Technologies Inc. I'm not sure what specifically causes it, but the situation in the original post is true.
