[Bug 1911976] [NEW] ubuntu 20.10'u kurarken çöktü. Benim SSD'im ile ilgili olduğunu düşünüyorum.

2021-01-15 Thread remzi erdem
Public bug reported:

ubuntu 20.10'u kurarken çöktü. Benim SSD'im ile ilgili olduğunu düşünüyorum.
ubuntu 20.04 kurmuştum. Bazı işlemlerde yazdırma sorunu yaşayınca SSD'yi
onarmak için uğtaştığımda "sistem dosyası ayırmada hata" uyarısı veriyordu
sürekli. Bunu giderme düşüncesiyle güncel olan ubuntu 20.10'u kurmak isterken
çökme yaşandı.

[Bug 1797803] Re: Strange hexadecimal characters on Gtk menu

2018-10-22 Thread Erdem
Ok I see.

Sometimes I find my self looking at some IP numbers.

For example let's have a look at this IP number

216.58.208.46

Since there are points between numbers it prints only hexadecimal value
of first number.

216 = 0xd8

May be it should be more clever. So that if it is an IP adress, there
might be no need to display it in hexadecimal notation.

I don't know whether hexadecimal notation for IP adresses are used
frequently but if you convert this number to hex it should be like that
:

0xD83AD02E

[Bug 1161594] Re: Gdevilspie fails to start with no attribute 'xdg_config_home'

2015-06-03 Thread Erdem
( 1 ) Open a terminal with ctrl + alt + t
( 2 ) Type sudo gedit /usr/bin/gdevilspie and press enter
( 3 ) Enter your password and press enter
( 4 ) If you do not see line numbers, click the edit menu in gedit, then click
preferences ( look for the check box "show line numbers" and check it
( 5 ) Scroll down to line 374 and put a # symbol to the far left of the line (
prefix the line with # )
( 6 ) Press ctrl + s to save the changes and then exit out of gedit ( maybe
give it a few seconds to finish saving before exiting though )
( 7 ) You are done with the fix, you can now launch gdevilspie and it ( should
) work.

you want run autostart you write only 'devilspie -a' on command line ;)

[Bug 1262366] Re: My paint error at startup Ubuntu 12.04

2013-12-19 Thread Erdem
Sure it is lower case.

I also suspect this might be a localization issue. Because in Turkish
the lower case of I is ı and the lower case of İ is i.

Also it works fine when I start the program using the command line like
this.

$ LC_ALL=C mypaint

I haven't tried with a tablet yet. But it seems removing "settings.json"
in ~/mypaint folder seems to solve this problem.

[Bug 1189968] Re: I can't play youtube videos on flash player 11.2.202.285

2013-06-17 Thread Erdem
No Youtube is not banned in Turkiye.

I installed Midori browser.

It seems both Firefox and Midori doesn't play youtube videos anymore.

Again I could be able to play same videos under Chrome web browser. This
is quite confusing ! ?

Thank you very much. I'll try Midori browser.

But what's interesting is I couldn't get any video to play using both

I tried many things. Clearing browser cache, using a different version
of flash player ..

Also it is browser specific. I could be able to play same videos under
Google  Chrome browser.

But for a few days it works fine. If it is Youtube specific I'll close
the bug report in a few days.

I can't play youtube videos after upgrading to flash 11.2.202.285
version anymore. At first glance I thought that it might be related to
my ISP or Youtube servers. But I can play same videos under Google's
chrome browser.

I checked whether flash player is working by visiting the flash test
page.

I have no idea what went wrong with my flash player.

[Bug 1188129] [NEW] Ubuntu 13.04 keyboard shortcuts doesn't work

2013-06-06 Thread Erdem
Public bug reported:

My computer's keyboard layout is Turkish F. Since keyboard shortcuts
work fine for Ubuntu 12.04, they are no longer working on Ubuntu 13.04.

I have both versions of Ubuntu installed. For example on Ubuntu 12.04
when I press Ctrl-Alt-T it opens terminal. But on Ubuntu 13.04 when I
press Ctrl-Alt-T nothing happens.

I suppose Ubuntu 13.04 keyboard shortcuts uses a different keyboard
layout than my keyboard layout. Which is quite annoying. When I press
Ctrl-Alt-O it opens terminal.

Hopefully you may solve this bug.

Thanks.

[Bug 1103094] Re: Wireless Driver is not detected after latest update

2013-01-22 Thread Hilmi Erdem KEREN
Thanks for fast replies.

Under the "Network" heading, I read

"Usual candidate packages are the kernel (fill bugs under the "linux"
package) and network-manager."

If I write apport-collect to terminal, it says:
ERROR: The launchpadlib Python module is not installed. This functionality is
not available.

Which I found under
"https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apport/+bug/1071905";

By the way, when I switch to new Kernel, my only internet connection
becomes unavaible. If apport or ubuntu-bug uses internet; it won't be
possible.

And one more thing;
When I write "rfkill list all" to terminal; Wireless LAN is not listed. I
really couldn't understand how will ubuntu find out that is a bug; if it really
can't see the driver.

[Bug 1039217] [NEW] cedarview-drm drivers doesn't recognise my screen

2012-08-20 Thread Erdem
Public bug reported:

I recently installed Ubuntu 12.04 and it reminded me to install
propritary drivers for the Intel GMA 500. At first glance I saw a black
screen. After rebooting the drivers seems to be activated but it doesn't
recognize my screen. It recognize my screen as laptop screen.

My computer's specitifications are like this:

Motherboard: Intel D2700MUD
Graphics: Intel® NM10 with Integrated Graphics Media Accelerator (GMA) 3650
Screen: Philips 105E CRT monitor

I tried this driver before and it recognizes my screen.

http://daily.siebler.eu/2012/06/ubuntu-12-04-driver-for-intel-cedarview-
atom-n2000-und-d2000-serie/

I know Intel's GMA 3650 support is very poor. But anyway I would like to
inform developers about this issue.

Thanks ..

[Bug 778058] Re: Gedit can't understand special characters

2011-06-24 Thread Hilmi Erdem KEREN
Yes it's reproducible.

If you open a ftp site in krusader and than, open a file in gedit; gedit
takes the information itself (it's visible on the header of window) and
ask the password to you again (i was really confused here).

I make sure the password is right, but gedit says no. Then i realised
the password includes %23 instead of #.

If you enter a wrong password and say the program not to remember; and
than enter the password yourself; gedit then agree the password and let
you see the file.

I think krusader sends the password in a wrong way or something like
that.

Yes finally it works. Thanks for the fix :)

Sorry I don't know Python. I study D programming language. We also had
a issue with Phobos when sorting Turkish strings. So a few friends of
mine wrote a small library to change Phobos's default behavior. As I
know it also supports other problematic languages and alphabets like
Irish and other Turkish alphabets. Here is the project page of the
library:

If you want may be you may contact developers for further exchange of

[Bug 755032] [NEW] unity freezes after installing fglrx driver

2011-04-08 Thread Erdem
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

After installing fglrx driver X freezes. Mouse cursor can still move
but clicking has no effect. The screen displays but does not update.
This problem happened after installing proprietary fglrx drivers in
Natty beta. I have compiz enabled and I was using Unity when this
problem occurred.

Also when I try to play a game with fglrx driver. The driver can not
change the screen resolution correctly. Instead of full screen I see a
small box at the centre. And game works in this box instead of full
screen

Also fgl_glxgears is too slow.

[Bug 747652] Re: no language and keyboard selection screen on natty narwhall alpha1 install

2011-04-03 Thread Erdem
After selecting Try Ubuntu option and starting the installation using
the Install Ubuntu 11.04 on desktop I may see keyboard layout selection
dialog again. This time I didn't select 'Download updates while
installing' and 'Install this third party software' options.

So this is a serious bug anyway because we can not presume all users
will select Try Ubuntu option.

[Bug 747652] Re: no language and keyboard selection screen on natty narwhall alpha1 install

2011-04-03 Thread Erdem
Hi. I downloaded 64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop CD. I checked using md5sum.

And it is same. And what is worse was the installation wasn't complete
with an error message.

Steps to reproduce the problem:

1 - Open the computer using Ubuntu CD.
2- Select language Turkish.
3- Select the option Install Ubuntu (Ubuntuyu kur)
4- Select the additional options
Download updates while installing (Kurulum esnasında güncellemeleri kur)
Install this third party software (Üçünçü parti yazılımları kur)

There was some installation messages like this:

ubiquity:setlocale LC_ALL:cannot change locale (tr_TR.UTF-8)
ubiquity:perl:warning:Setting locale failed
ubiquity:perl:Falling back to the standard locale ("C")

And after that I got these error messages: (In Turkish)

There was an error while installing packages.
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) The following packages
are broken.

In fact this was a long error message mentioning I might be continue to
setup. I continued to setup and ended up with an unbootable system.

To figure out what is going on I reboot from CD again. This time
selected English. Selected Ubuntu Install but also there is no option
to select keyboard layout also in English setup.

So I selected Try Ubuntu option. I am in live cd environment now. This
time I'll try to select Language Settings and Keyboard Layout by hand
and will try whether this problem continues. And I recognized that in
Language Settings there were some languages selected by default. For
example Xhosa. I've never heard of this language..

I think both Gnash and Flash Plug in was installed when I reported this
issue. But I am not sure about which was installed. Nope I didn't have
graphical issues with all Flash content. I had graphical issues with
some Flash content especially some Flash videos. I didn't noticed any
graphical issues outside of Flash content.

[Bug 743135] Re: Firefox has problems with input fields, links, buttons

2011-04-02 Thread Erdem
Yes I was having this problems with Firefox on Ubuntu Natty Alpha. I
didn't tried with other browsers.

For example there was a similar bug after installing Natty Beta. When
you open start page about:startpage search button didn't worked. You
input something to the input field and try to click search button
nothing happens. You can't ever click the search button.

When you try to enter something into a text field it is not possible to
select the text field (the text field becomes orange when selected) or
enter something to the text field.

Or it is not possible to select links when this error occurs. As i
mentioned it doesn't happens every time. And these problems used to
happen when I was using Ubuntu Natty Alpha now I am using Beta. I
installed Beta yesterday. In Beta also about:startpage search button
didn't worked on a fresh install. But it seems to work fine now.

[Bug 747796] [NEW] gnome-language-selector crashes after a fresh install

2011-04-01 Thread Erdem
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: language-selector

After fresh install of Natty Narwhal Alpha 1 using ubuntu-11.04-beta1
-desktop-amd64.iso when I try to run gnome-language-selector I get this:

$ gnome-language-selector
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "/usr/bin/gnome-language-selector", line 8, in
from LanguageSelector.gtk.GtkLanguageSelector import GtkLanguageSelector

AptStatusIcon
def __init__(self, transaction=None, size=Gtk.IconSize.DIALOG):
AttributeError: type object 'GtkIconSize' has no attribute 'DIALOG'

Also there is another bug in the bug reporting tool which prevents to
report bugs in selected locale:

$ ubuntu-bug gnome-language-selector
ERROR: /etc/apport/crashdb.conf is damaged: No default database

$ LC_ALL=C ubuntu-bug /usr/bin/gnome-language-selector

So i created this bug report using C locale.

$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu Natty (development branch)
Release:11.04

$ LC_ALL=C apt-cache policy /usr/bin/gnome-language-selector
N: Unable to locate package /usr/bin/gnome-language-selector

But i learned its version number from synaptic package manager. Which is
language-selector (0.28) natty.

Also you may want to have a look at bug 747652 and bug 630927 because
they may be related to each other.

[Bug 630927] Re: Notification of missing language support not shown after installation

2011-04-01 Thread Erdem
I had a similiar problem after fresh installing Natty Narwhal Alpha 1.
#bug 747652

After installation I ended up with an English system.

Here are installation settings:

* Language selected: Turkish (tr_TR.UTF-8)
* There were no keyboard layout selection screen
* Chosen to download updates during install
* Wired network present
* ubuntu-11.04-beta1-desktop-amd64.iso

[Bug 747652] [NEW] no language and keyboard selection screen on natty narwhall alpha1 install

2011-04-01 Thread Erdem
Public bug reported:

I downloaded Natty Narwhal Alpha 1 iso from a cd mirror. When you boot
there is two options. Try Ubuntu or Install Ubuntu. First of all I
selected my country. Than clicked Install Ubuntu. But in contrast to
other Ubuntu versions there were no keyboard layout selection in the
installation menu. I think this is a serious bug. Because you may not
expect every user to know US keyboard layout by mind. I didn't care and
continue setup. I reboot and I was so amazed to see that Ubuntu was
installed in English despite I choose my language which is Turkish. As
you might know or not know but many people in all of the world tried
Natty Beta whom use different languages and keyboard layouts. And I
suppose this was a great surprise for them too..

Hope you may fix this problem as soon as possible.

Also on a fresh install when you open start page about:startpage search
button doesn't works. This is a minor bug also.

[Bug 743294] Re: unity graphical problems

2011-03-28 Thread Erdem
I see .. From my point of view blue overlay was a problem. But isn't it
quite out of the ordinary? Because if it'll be the same in the finished
product many people would think that there is a problem with their video
card, screen or may be they will think that it is a bug like I did. Is
there a way to completely turn it off.

Thanks ..

[Bug 743294] [NEW] unity graphical problems

2011-03-26 Thread Erdem
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: unity

When I try to drag windows to the top in Unity the screen becomes blue.
And windows decorations lost sometimes. I am not sure whether the unity
or compiz cause this issue. I also tried to drag windows to the top in
Gnome but it was fine. I also attached the screen shots of the desktop
to further point what I mean.

When I first run bug report tool I couldn't input Summary field. I am
having problems with buttons, links and even buttons after upgrading to
Natty.

$ lsb_release -rd

[Bug 627076] Re: apport gives crashdb.conf error when I try to send a bug

2011-03-26 Thread Erdem
Hi I think this is a locale related issue. I use tr_TR.UTF-8 locale and
it effects many applications:

$ locale
LANG=tr_TR.UTF-8
LANGUAGE=tr_TR:en
LC_CTYPE="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_NUMERIC="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_TIME="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_COLLATE="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_MONETARY="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_MESSAGES="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_PAPER="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_NAME="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_ADDRESS="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_TELEPHONE="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_MEASUREMENT="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_IDENTIFICATION="tr_TR.UTF-8"
LC_ALL=

$ ubuntu-bug
ERROR: /etc/apport/crashdb.conf is damaged: No default database

$ LC_ALL=C ubuntu-bug

When I run this command it works fine.

[Bug 627627] Re: Nvidia drivers [GT 240M] produces 4 low resolution screens

2010-09-02 Thread Hilmi Erdem KEREN
Sorry for writing again and again. But i think that, it really must be
about xorg too. Because when i try to install my local linux
distribution (i'm not going to give the name of it because it's
unnecessary), which directly try to use the nvidia drivers, (it uses
kde, not gnome) different screen problems appear too.

Not: i have just downloaded and installed the ubuntu os. Updated it, And
just changed the language when it said me to do. (to turkish, if it
effects the ascii). and did what you told me to do.

So can't send the information you want.
