[Bug 1797803] Re: Strange hexadecimal characters on Gtk menu
Ok I see. Sometimes I find my self looking at some IP numbers. For example let's have a look at this IP number 216.58.208.46 Since there are points between numbers it prints only hexadecimal value of first number. 216 = 0xd8 May be it should be more clever. So that if it is an IP adress, there might be no need to display it in hexadecimal notation. I don't know whether hexadecimal notation for IP adresses are used frequently but if you convert this number to hex it should be like that : 0xD83AD02E -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1797803 Title: Strange hexadecimal characters on Gtk menu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-terminal/+bug/1797803/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

Sure it is lower case. I also suspect this might be a localization issue. Because in Turkish the lower case of I is ı and the lower case of İ is i. [Bug 1188129] [NEW] Ubuntu 13.04 keyboard shortcuts doesn't work
Public bug reported: My computer's keyboard layout is Turkish F. Since keyboard shortcuts work fine for Ubuntu 12.04, they are no longer working on Ubuntu 13.04. I have both versions of Ubuntu installed. For example on Ubuntu 12.04 when I press Ctrl-Alt-T it opens terminal. But on Ubuntu 13.04 when I press Ctrl-Alt-T nothing happens. Thanks for fast replies. Under the "Network" heading, I read "Usual candidate packages are the kernel (fill bugs under the "linux" package) and network-manager." [Bug 778058] Re: Gedit can't understand special characters
Yes it's reproducible. If you open a ftp site in krusader and than, open a file in gedit; gedit takes the information itself (it's visible on the header of window) and ask the password to you again (i was really confused here). I make sure the password is right, but gedit says no. Then i realised the password includes %23 instead of #. If you enter a wrong password and say the program not to remember; and than enter the password yourself; gedit then agree the password and let you see the file. [Bug 755032] [NEW] unity freezes after installing fglrx driver
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity After installing fglrx driver X freezes. Mouse cursor can still move but clicking has no effect. The screen displays but does not update. This problem happened after installing proprietary fglrx drivers in Natty beta. I have compiz enabled and I was using Unity when this problem occurred. Also when I try to play a game with fglrx driver. The driver can not change the screen resolution correctly. Instead of full screen I see a small box at the centre. And game works in this box instead of full screen Also fgl_glxgears is too slow. $ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu Natty (development branch) Release:11.04 $ apt-cache policy unity 3.8.4-0ubuntu1 $ lspci | grep VGA 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: ATI Technologies Inc RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 11.04 Package: unity 3.8.4-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 2.6.38-8.41-generic 2.6.38.2 Uname: Linux 2.6.38-8-generic i686 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Architecture: i386 CompizPlugins: [core, bailer, detection, composite, opengl, decor, mousepoll, vpswitch, regex, animation, snap, expo, move, compiztoolbox, place, grid, imgpng, gnomecompat, wall, ezoom, workarounds, staticswitcher, resize, fade, unitymtgrabhandles, scale, session, unityshell] Date: Fri Apr 8 23:17:56 2011 DistUpgraded: Log time: 2011-04-04 18:33:02.360158 DistroCodename: natty DistroVariant: ubuntu DkmsStatus: fglrx, 8.840, 2.6.38-8-generic, i686: installed GraphicsCard: ATI Technologies Inc RV770 [Radeon HD 4850] [1002:9442] (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: PC Partner Limited Sapphire HD 4850 512MB GDDR3 PCI-E Dual Slot Fansink [174b:e810] InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) InstallationMedia_: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) InstallationMedia__: Ubuntu 10.10 "Maverick Meerkat" - Release i386 (20101007) JockeyStatus: xorg:fglrx - ATI/AMD proprietary FGLRX graphics driver (Proprietary, Enabled, In use) MachineType: Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. [Bug 747652] Re: no language and keyboard selection screen on natty narwhall alpha1 install
Hi. I downloaded 64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop CD. I checked using md5sum. And it is same. And what is worse was the installation wasn't complete with an error message. Steps to reproduce the problem: 1 - Open the computer using Ubuntu CD. 2- Select language Turkish. 3- Select the option Install Ubuntu (Ubuntuyu kur) 4- Select the additional options Download updates while installing (Kurulum esnasında güncellemeleri kur) Install this third party software (Üçünçü parti yazılımları kur) There was some installation messages like this: ubiquity:setlocale LC_ALL:cannot change locale (tr_TR.UTF-8) ubiquity:perl:warning:Setting locale failed ubiquity:perl:Falling back to the standard locale ("C") And after that I got these error messages: (In Turkish) There was an error while installing packages. E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1) The following packages are broken. In fact this was a long error message mentioning I might be continue to setup. I continued to setup and ended up with an unbootable system. To figure out what is going on I reboot from CD again. This time selected English. Selected Ubuntu Install but also there is no option to select keyboard layout also in English setup. So I selected Try Ubuntu option. I am in live cd environment now. This time I'll try to select Language Settings and Keyboard Layout by hand and will try whether this problem continues. And I recognized that in Language Settings there were some languages selected by default. For example Xhosa. I've never heard of this language.. ** Changed in: ubuntu Status: Incomplete => New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/747652 Title: no language and keyboard selection screen on natty narwhall alpha1 install -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 743135] Re: Firefox has problems with input fields, links, buttons
Yes I was having this problems with Firefox on Ubuntu Natty Alpha. I didn't tried with other browsers. For example there was a similar bug after installing Natty Beta. When you open start page about:startpage search button didn't worked. You input something to the input field and try to click search button nothing happens. You can't ever click the search button. When you try to enter something into a text field it is not possible to select the text field (the text field becomes orange when selected) or enter something to the text field. Or it is not possible to select links when this error occurs. As i mentioned it doesn't happens every time. And these problems used to happen when I was using Ubuntu Natty Alpha now I am using Beta. I installed Beta yesterday. In Beta also about:startpage search button didn't worked on a fresh install. But it seems to work fine now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/743135 Title: Firefox has problems with input fields, links, buttons -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 747652] [NEW] no language and keyboard selection screen on natty narwhall alpha1 install
Public bug reported: I downloaded Natty Narwhal Alpha 1 iso from a cd mirror. When you boot there is two options. Try Ubuntu or Install Ubuntu. First of all I selected my country. Than clicked Install Ubuntu. But in contrast to other Ubuntu versions there were no keyboard layout selection in the installation menu. I think this is a serious bug. Because you may not expect every user to know US keyboard layout by mind. I didn't care and continue setup. I reboot and I was so amazed to see that Ubuntu was installed in English despite I choose my language which is Turkish. As you might know or not know but many people in all of the world tried Natty Beta whom use different languages and keyboard layouts. And I suppose this was a great surprise for them too.. Hope you may fix this problem as soon as possible. Also on a fresh install when you open start page about:startpage search button doesn't works. [Bug 743294] Re: unity graphical problems
I see .. From my point of view blue overlay was a problem. But isn't it quite out of the ordinary? Because if it'll be the same in the finished product many people would think that there is a problem with their video card, screen or may be they will think that it is a bug like I did. Is there a way to completely turn it off. Thanks .. [Bug 743294] [NEW] unity graphical problems
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: unity When I try to drag windows to the top in Unity the screen becomes blue. And windows decorations lost sometimes. I am not sure whether the unity or compiz cause this issue. I also tried to drag windows to the top in Gnome but it was fine.
