[Bug 1745463] Re: Disabling systemd-resolved breaks dhclient resolvconf integration

[Bug 1745463] Re: Disabling systemd-resolved breaks dhclient resolvconf integration
I quite agree with @GeekSmith here. We disabled systemd-resolved on bionic and install ifupdown instead since we install this on server that have a static configuration and we don't want systemd-resolved to modify anything in the resolv.conf file. Only during the initial installation time of the server we use dhclient to get an IP address. The result is that the resolv.conf file is not modified by dhclient despite systemd-resolved being disabled. To work around this issue, we simply deleted the /etc/dhcp/dhclient-enter- hooks.d/resolved file as we don't need it anyway. A cleaner way of course it to actually test in the file if systemd- resolved is used, as @GeekSmith's patch does. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1745463 Title: Disabling systemd-resolved breaks dhclient resolvconf integration To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/resolvconf/+bug/1745463/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1811861] Re: incorrect permissions on /var/log after debootstrap
Sorry for the noise, it seems this is not related to rsyslog after all. In our install process we are moving /var/log to another partition (mounted in /data/) and then symlink it to /var/log. Permissions are set up properly and work while the system is running. When the system is rebooted though there is an unknown process changing the permissions of /data/log, my best guess something related to systemd. When we bind mount /data/log in /var/log directory we don't have this issue though. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1811861 Title: incorrect permissions on /var/log after debootstrap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rsyslog/+bug/1811861/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1811861] [NEW] incorrect permissions on /var/log after debootstrap
Public bug reported: we are debootstrapping a full bionic distribution into a directory. After debootstrapping the permissions on /var/log are incorrect, causing rsyslog to fail because it cannot write into the directory to create the various files. Also, in the postinst of the rsyslog package I see that systemd-tmpfiles is attempted to be used to create the files defined in /usr/lib/tmpfiles.d/00rsyslog.conf, but from what I can tell this will never work because of the systemd-tmpfiles manpage: --create If this option is passed, all files and directories marked with f, F, w, d, D, v, p, L, c, b, m in the configuration files are created or written to. Files and directories marked with z, Z, t, T, a, and A have their ownership, access mode and security labels set. Since the files are configured with type "z" only ownership, access mode and security will be updated. # lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS Release:18.04 # apt-cache policy rsyslog rsyslog: Installed: 8.32.0-1ubuntu4 Candidate: 8.32.0-1ubuntu4 Version table: *** 8.32.0-1ubuntu4 100 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status ** Affects: rsyslog (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1811861 Title: incorrect permissions on /var/log after debootstrap To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/rsyslog/+bug/1811861/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

I wonder why this bug hasn't been noticed earlier, since this is a really basic thing... I'll debug this on my own machine. Hopefully there will be a fix very soon. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1132396 Title: [HDA, ALC889,optical spdif] Driver did not create IEC958 device To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/alsa-driver/+bug/1132396/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 1132396] [NEW] [HDA-Intel - HDA Intel, playback] volume slider problem, volume reset to 100% after changing default playback device
Public bug reported: I tend to switch default playback between two outputs on the same soundcard, the s/pdif digital out and 3.55mm headphone jack. I expect both devices to save their previous output levels from last time i used it. This doesn't happen. If i were to put my output volume on s/pdif out to 50%, and change my default playback to headphones to then switch back. I would notice that the sound volume of s/pdif returns to 100%. Basicly reseting, everytime i switch default playback device. However, this only occurs if i switch between outputs on the SAME soundcard. If i were to switch from s/pdif output on my integrated Intel soundcard, to 3.55mm on my discrete Creative X-Fi Soundcard and then back. The output volume would still be the same. It was very easy to reproduce this problem i have, done in atleast 20 seconds. Hello Michael, thanks for your quick response. I'm using the lucid (10.04) LTS server release. In there it's not fixed yet. [Bug 810299] [NEW] firefox syspref.js not working
Public bug reported: I'm trying to use /etc/firefox/syspref.js to set system wide firefox- settings for my users. But when they start firefox, the settings are not used. [Bug 810299] Re: firefox syspref.js not working
I had other systemwide changes to make as well... But yes, that file should be removed. Along with /usr/lib/firefox-5.0/defaults/pref/vendor.js and /usr/lib/firefox-5.0/defaults/pref/syspref.js which doesn't work either. Actually /usr/lib/firefox-5.0/defaults/pref/syspref.js links to /etc/firefox/syspref.js. Couldn't the solution be to link /etc/xul- ext/ubufox.js from xul-ext-ubufox to /etc/firefox/syspref.js? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/810299 Title: firefox syspref.js not working To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/firefox/+bug/810299/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 810299] Re: firefox syspref.js not working
Since syspref.js didn't work, i tried vendor.js, but that didn't work either. That's why i said that. Just disregard what i said about vendor.js. [Bug 676426] Re: Choosing liferea from the Messaging Menu should raise its window
Same in natty, if liferea is already open and behind other applications on the desktop clicking on it from the messaging menu does nothing. But if liferea is running minimized when you click it from messaging menu the icon in the launcher shakes and the program is raised. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/676426 Title: Choosing liferea from the Messaging Menu should raise its window -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs

[Bug 621265] Re: Slow Wireless Connection in Intel 3945abg
I have now used #270 for 6 days, and I still get about 7Mbit/s down and 0.64Mbit/s up. These number are what I could expect from my ISP. [Bug 712103] Re: unlocking dialog doesn't show
I have almost the same problem, but for me it don't help to switch to console and back to x. After i have written the password i can see the mousepointer changing when i move it across the screen, depending on what is suppose to be showing (link in firefox, text input, etc), but the screen stays all black except the mouse pointer. This started a couple of days ago, and happens about half the times the screensaver comes on. I have to reboot when this happens. My system is natty a2 i386 thinkpad x200t, last updated 20.02.2011. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/712103 Title: unlocking dialog doesn't show -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
